11 news was told over e-mail that each shutdown day would total $5 million in lost state revenue and about $4 million of the total is associated with loss -- lost wages. one million dollars in reduced sales tax revenue. maryland businesses will also cover from $15 billion less in economic activity for each day the federal government is shut down. as far as state employees partially paid by the federal government, a shutdown of just a few days will not result in furloughs. furloughs may be required for certain state positions. >> we are already in a fragile economy. -- when you to us slow it down could even set us back a bit. question economics professor using the government said -- shutdown possibility
