covering the world, the trial of one-time american exchange student amanda knox never seems to end. the second appeals trial of amanda knox, convicted of murdering her british roommate in 2007, begins today in florence, italy. amanda knox and her former italian boyfriend were acquitted in 2011, and she returned to seattle. now the italian supreme court overturned that acquittal, citing contradictions and ill logical conclusions. the trial is on again. >> i was already imprisoned as an innocent person in italy, and i cannot reconcile that choice to go back with that experience. .t is not a possibility i was imprisoned as an innocent person manages cannot relive that. >> as you heard, she does not plan to return to italy for the trial.

the appeal could last a year or longer. in chicago, nearly 50 people are injured after two trained collided outside chicago this morning. it happened on the blue line. two trains collided head-on attestation around 8:00 this morning. the injuries are described as non-life-threatening. they want to know why the two trains were on the same track. firefighters in southern california are still digging through the smoking remains of this crashed airplane in santa monica. the jet landed at the santa monica municipal airport sunday evening and veered off the runway, hitting an airport hangar. investigators say it is unlikely anyone is alive inside. today, president obama will meet with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu for a high- stakes meeting at the white house. they will focus on the future stability of the middle east, especially in iran and syria. this comes on the heels of president obama's historic phone conversation with iran's new president. netanyahu will deliver strong words of caution on how the u.s.

in consumer alert, it may seem like a ways off, but experts say every day you wait to book your thanksgiving travel, you are losing money. an extra five dollars is tacked onto your airfare for each day you wait to purchase your thanksgiving flight. that is if you plan on traveling the wednesday before or sunday after turkey day. all other flights, that five dollar increase locate in ending the third week of october. the faa is expected to release new rules this week about how you can use electronic devices during flights. do not expect drastic changes. a draft obtained by cnn says travelers will still not be allowed to check e-mail or make phone calls during departure or arrival. you will not be able to use wi- fi during those times because the single interferes with the pilot's communications system. if you're behind on your bills, you not worry -- here is what
