hour. it is still a big area of circulation. without thunderstorms near the center it is doubtful it will become hurricane before landfall. blizzard warnings there in the rapids city area. you will change to snow. it is snowing hard in the mountains of wyoming. we are talking about the possibility of up to two feet of snow. and then out ahead of that storm system later on today we will see a chance of strong thunderstorms, possibly tornadoes, that area of red is at greatest risk right across much of central and northern iowa where we focus for the best chance of tornadoes. strong storms from kansas city down to areas around oklahoma city. a lot of things on the map today to be aware of for your safety. that is your national forecast. here is a look at the weather outside your window. on the east coast it is going to be summer.

police not in point the what triggered this. it was not an accident. here is what we know. the joy ever has been identified as miriam carey, 34 years old from connecticut -- the driver has been identified as miriam carey. that triggered a lockdown on capitol hill. relatives are shocked and hope to find out more about what exactly happened. police gathered evidence overnight in bc and up in connecticut-- in dc. >> when something like this happens, how are members of congress affected? >> greatly, the house and senate floors were both lockdown. that meant congresspeople cannot go anywhere. there was a shelter in place warning inside the capitol
