boehner responded to president obama's comments. his main point is that he is disappointed the president will not negotiate over the partial shutdown. the only way to avoid the impending debt ceiling is for both sides to sit down and have a conversation. say theyl prosecutors took money from outside vendors and paid them for inflated invoices. thousands of of dollars were involved in this scheme. >> investigators say the new jersey man that set himself on fire at the national was not making a political statement but had been battling a mental illness for a long time. john constantino died after pouring a canister of gasoline on himself. it happened friday afternoon at the air and space museum.

says the nature of his mental illness is a personal matter and not an issue of public concern. newly unsealed court documents said that no motive was found after searching the car of a connecticut woman after she tried to ram her car through a white house barrier. they found a lockbox containing a passport and foreign currency with a connecticut drivers license. the significance of those items are unknown. last thursday, she was shot to death. her daughter was inside the car but not hurt. >> charging sailors with crimes. the unidentified supervisors will appear for an official arraignment tomorrow. drowned earlier this year at the underwater weapons

with a northeast breeze. theto the forecast over next couple of days, high pressure to the north towards new england and low pressure counterclockwise means wind will be coming out of the east and northeast bringing moisture off of the ocean for the next several days which tends to keep us cloudy, cool, and occasionally wet. tropical storm karen is mixed in a wetll of that equaling and cloudy weather pattern. next front off to the north and west. they will have to deal with this weather pattern. overcast skies continuing and there are some showers on the screen here especially from baltimore south down in southern maryland and parts of virginia.

to tomorrow night and thursday and probably will take us into friday as well. we will still have the onshore flow. rain ornd maybe light drizzle will carry us into saturday morning. the marathon underway, it is not bad for runners but for people, it might be uncomfortable watching. wind out of the northeast, a small craft advisory in effect. coming out of the northeast with three foot waves and water temperatures in the low 70's. far enough away from that offshore storm to keep the weather drive. so we will have some sunshine.

caree global health company has announced a newly developed malaria vaccine that could help protect children for a year or more. cutses show this vaccine the number of malaria cases in half after 18 months. it was only 25% of effective among infants. experts believe the vaccine when paired with the use of mosquito nets, insecticides and anti- malaria drugs will save many of the 660,000 people that die from malaria every year. people in 18 states have gotten sick after eating chicken contaminated with salmonella.

they are from foster farms in california. no recalls have been issued but the products were distributed in california, oregon, and washington. reps say that they can't conduct investigations and lab work to try to link outbreaks across state lines. months into a federal investigation, health officials have identified infants they say may have been exposed to eight tuberculosis. baby hadew that a tuberculosis until it was too late. the baby's mother and twin died shortly after birth. the child was tested and quarantined. hundreds of parents and children's are out there possibly carrying the disease including joseph boswell and his son who was born prematurely.
