>> police close their case on the light rail death. the reason the legal battle is not over. >> no, i don't believe it. >> fatal crash, what the family of the victims is saying tonight. >> and we will tell you what's going on, at baltimore city hall. >> live in high definition, from wbff tv in baltimore, this is fox 45 news "late edition". . >> hello again i am jeff barnd. karen has tonight off. baltimore county police say their investigation into a deadly light rail crash is over. and they found no criminal wrongdoing. myranda stephens has the latest now from lutherville. >> well, jeff, police officially ruled last month deadly train accident here near the lutherville light rail station just that. an unfortunate accident. 17-year-old connor peterson and kyle wankmiller were walking along the train tracks july 5 when a train fatally struck them from behind.

the operator of the train told police he did not see the boys and investigators say they found no evidence that drugs, alcohol, or even cell phone use were involved. the attorney for both families, however, said the operators were negligent, claiming one operator that saw the boys earlier on the tracks never warned other drivers, and the operator who actually hit them was looking down at the time of the crash. and not ahead. >> you know, kids sort of do things every day that are not always correct. but there is opportunities for us adults to make sure they don't die from it, for sure. that's what we are talking about here. >> and the families are now in the process of filing a civil lawsuit against the mta. something they expect should happen within the next three months or so. spokesperson for the mta could not be reached for comment. we're live in lutherville, myranda stephens, fox 45 news "late edition". >> queen anne's county judge found the mother charged with poisoning her 3-year-old

daughter criminally responsible for her death. the ruling in victoria sparrow's case hand down thursday. prosecutors will ask for a life sentence for sparrow. she pled guilty for the december murder of her daughter lacey but claims she was not criminally responsible by reason of insanity. >> a virginia court upholds the dc sniper's capital murder conviction tonight. john allen mohammed and lee boyd malvo killed 10 in four states. mow ham had medicine was the mastermind. three judge panel affirmed his death sentence today. >> a randallstown family raising concern tonight after a deadly accident that killed a loved one. police say 23-year-old kiera mckay struck and killed in west baltimore thursday by a suspect driving a stolen vehicle. officers denied chasing the suspect but relatives are raising questions tonight. >> no, i don't believe it was not a chase. because they could not have arrived on the scene that fast. and if it was a chase, and have the suspect going as fast as

they claim he was going, he should have been able to bailout of the car earlier time. it was 10 blocks away. without the cops knowing who was in the car. >> the suspect remains hospitalized tonight as police draw up a slew of charges against him. >> the city's lawsuit against wells fargo moves forward. this week a federal judge ordered the lender to handover files on loans made to baltimore residents. wells fargo will be required to make company officials available for questioning. baltimore is suing the lender charging it knowingly targeted minorities for bad loans. the company denies race was of a factor in its lending process. >> in other news of the day now. lawmakers are holding townhall meetings on health care reform to some very rough crowds. >> arrest me and my son right now. arrest us right now. >> that was a confrontation between michigan representative don ding gel and a man whose son has cerebral palsy. claiming his boy would be neglected by health care reform.

supporters say disruptions at townhall meetings like this are coordinateed events. the protestors say not so. >> i see my country disappearing. i see our economy being destroyed. >> lawmakers are finding angry activists at their townhall meetings. protestors showed up at representative frank kratovil's townhall meeting yesterday r it was supposed to be about agriculture. but quickly turned into a forum on health care reform. kratovil held another townhall meeting this afternoon in kent county without all the chaos. >> my particular view is that is a relative minor group of people. i think, this room is a pretty good example of that. >> i disagree. i disagree. this was sent out by the president. by the president. >> let the man talk. >> the congressman said he plans to meet about groups of doctors and nurses later this month as he continues to focus on the health care reform measure. >> well, the heat has been

turned up a notch obviously on health care reform. can americans ever agree to disagree any more? in state of maryland can employers actually handle more health related mandates in addition to the 66 already in place? here is former governor robert ehrlich in this week's political pulse. >> you had a article recently in the wall street journal. i didn't know there were 66 mandates in this state that basically cost employers 12 percent more. what gives the employers the incentive to come to maryland and provide health care to work oners. >> it is a fact. what happens jeff is that there is no evil intent here. if people forget, it is not as though the legislature set out on day one and said look we will make health care expensive in maryland. what occurred is that from you name the medical subspeciality, you name the medical service, go to the legislature and say we

provide a service, a service people want. we would like to be part of the state of maryland. we would like to provide our services for reimbursement. this is about reimbursement as well. and what happens is convince a legislature to do it. legislature put in the bill. advocates come down. the bill passes. there is a press conference. celebration. and we made health care stronger by adding x service. this happens year after year after year after year. what happens down the line? 66 mandates later, guess what? we are expensive. so no evil intent here. it is not as though people started about to make it more expensive. but evolved overtime. and people need to understand it is the ferret of the legislative process first of all. and something that maryland really needs to look at. because what i would love to see happen with health care is that you have particular needs with you and your family, right? different from my family. different from the next door neighbor's family. you have kids, younger, older,

>> governor martin o'malley is upset with the anne arundel county council for holding up a vote on sonic for putting slots at the mall. local zoning approval is necessary before slots casinos can be built anywhere in the state of maryland. the anne arundel county council have several hearings on the matter but put off the decision and right now, we have that indecision kind of guming up the works. and keeping that largest number of it is slots licenses from moving forward. >> the chair of the arundel county counciled the council will not take a vote on zoning for slots a recall mills until the commission gives approval for the site. >> mixed news on our economy. employers cut 250,000 jobs last month alone. sending the national unemployment rate to 9.4 percent. but, experts thought it would have been worse. craig boswell explains.

and do you want, that's the key. 58 degrees. right now, so it is comfortable and pleasant outside. on sky watch hd radar. you can see dry sweep across state of maryland. although for tomorrow. we will increase with the temperatures for tomorrow. into the mid 80s. and there is a warm front making the way into our area. that's producing light rain showers into the ohio valley. but dissipating as we move toward the mountains. so what does it mean for us. for tomorrow. couple more clouds around. but temperatures will be on increase. and they are already turning the heat up in the center portions of the united states. 89 in dallas. at this hour. 87 in omaha. and 82 in st. louis. we are still cool and comfortable right now. but that will change as we go through the daytime tomorrow. and as we are under the ridge of higher height that allows for hot and humid air mass to move in here. so be in the low 90s really by sunday and monday. by tomorrow, though, we are going to be feeling the humidity factor for tomorrow. so here is our model that
