>> hello again, i am jeff barnd. >> and i am jennifer gilbert. there is breaking news in cherry hill tonight. >> a woman was shot inside of her home about 9:00 in the 2800 block of carver road. police say she was watching television when the bullet came through the window and struck her in the shoulder. her injuries are not considered to be life threatening. >> the officers are canvassing the area for shell cases, knocking on doors. hopefully somebody saw something that will point us in the right direction. >> meanwhile tonight. police are reviewing security camera video of the incident. >> well, a camera security video released earlier today raises questions in the case involving 17-year-old lamont davis accused of shooting a 5-year-old girl last month. karen parks is live at mitchell courthouse with the latest. >> well, jeff, lamont davis pled not guilty today during the

arraignment here at mitchell courthouse. but his attorney released crime video today that he says proved his client is innocent. now attorneys said his client was wearing a gps ankle bracelet at the time of the shooting that happened july 2 in the 300 block of pulaski street in southwest baltimore where 5-year-old raven wyatt was hit by a stray bullet. but the attorney said the shooter in this close circuit camera footage was not wearing a ankle bracelet, which he says proved that his client is innocent. the trial date is set for october 2. reporting live here in downtown baltimore. karen parks fox 45 news "late edition". >> health care reform and a heated debate. the protests will not go away. >> keith daniels was in belair tonight where protestors demonstrated even though the congressman was out of the country. >> well, we are outside congressman frank kratovil's local office. drawing attention for some of the protests he has encountered

at some townhall meetings. earlier today, at least, 100 people, many of them from local conservative groups, stood along main street speaking out against health care reform. that is working the way through congress. passing motorists blew horns in support of the protest. but not every passing car was a vote against the president's plan. >> because i support the president. >> what obama is doing will help them too. and they are against it right now, but in the long run, it could benefit them too. >> we don't need our government doing anything for us. thank you very much. just win the war. >> print the money. stay out of our face. >> well tonight there is no comment from the congressman. a spokesman said he is out of the country tonight. on official business. >> in belair. keith daniels, fox 45 news "late edition". >> meantime president obama puts himself on the front lines of the battle today. hosting a townhall meeting in new hampshire. mr. obamaed the $1,000,000,000,000.10 year plan is key to economic stability.

>> because right now we have a health care system that too often works better for the insurance industry than it does for the american people. and we have to save that. >> president obama did not say how he would fund it but said he is currently working with the u.s. congress. >> ben cardin has scheduled another townhall meeting in hagerstown tomorrow. during his meeting in towson last night, cardin was heck cankled by a crowd. and analysts think the meeting served a valuable purpose. >> i think it may have served as a release valve. a lot of people that went there were upset. and i thought that he answered a lot of the questions directly. i think, that it shows a certain courage on his part. >> senator cardin will hold another townhall meeting at hagerstown community college at 1:00 tomorrow. >> that brings us to the question of the day. do you think the townhall meetings are effective. at last check, 44 percent of you say yes. and 46 percent say no. mary ann from reisterstown

with for the last several days. doppler radar shows showers and thunderstorms remaining south of harrisburg, north of york. so flashes of lightning up there. and continue to see some brief heavy downpours across the border. but it will continue to fall apart as we go through the next couple of hours. bigger picture. you can see the showers pushing southeast. maybe over to northern harford county and cecil county. few showers overnight here. and few rumbles of lightning. maybe a chance for lightning strikes in the next hour or so. highs today in the lower 90s. but it looks like relief is on the way. temperatures climb into the mid 80s by noon. it looks like start the day off indictment maybe a chance for late afternoon shower or thunderstorm. but nonetheless, things look better temperature wise. complete seven day coming up in a bit. . >> con artists are preying on residents in baltimore and the suburbs. clean cut college students going

door-to-door marketing security systems, seem safe but it is a scam. victims describe the men as very charming. police fear the operation is more wide spread than they first thought. >> there may be other victims out there that we do not know about. people that signed a deal with a good looking man with a charming smile and nice necktie and not realize they are being con. >> if you think you have been approached or have been, call them. reportedly the phony sales people are coming from the state of utah. >> well, doctors say breast feeding is good for a baby's health. and now there is research that shows it is good for the mother too. new study said breast feeding for, at least, three months can cut the risk of breast cancer by 59 percent for nursing mothers that have a family history of the disease. but it didn't affect the odds for women without a family history of breast cancer. >> organic food may not be better than conventional food after all. researchers in london studied 50 years of nutritional evidence

part of a plan to cut another $400 million from the state budget. john on john explains. >> what do we support? >> grateful to still have jobs. but these state employees are still worried about the next round of budget cuts. >> we are already short. we have been cut. and we have been cut to the max. any furlough cuts will cut the services. >> so the union representing state workers is sending a message to governor o'malley and state lawmakers. >> no layoffs, no furloughs, no cuts in benefits, no cuts period. >> but inside, state lawmakers receive more bleak news. >> i don't know that we will be rapidly climbing out of our present predicament. >> but general assembly chief budget expert say sales and income revenues are flat. and in two weeks, the state will have no choice but to cut an additional $400 million from this year's budget. >> you know, we cannot continue the spending at the pace that it has been going. >> despite the gloomy numbers, state has $650 million in its

rain. >> will we get a break. check back in with vytas. >> good news is that the heat is not as sweltering as what it has been. see temperatures in the upper 80s versus the mid to upper 90s. making it feel uncomfortable out there. looking at the hd skycam. quiet conditions down in inner harbour through much of the day. scattered showers and thunderstorms in the neighborhood but nothing happening in the central portion of the city. still showers and thunderstorms north of the border right now. 77 degrees. inner harbour mostly cloudy skies. winds out of the southwest at three. and humidity levels are sitting at 74 percent. our high today reached 89. normally we are at 86. we got a little bit of prescription out there at the airport. but here it looks like downtown, relatively dry. looking what's going on on regional temperatures. across the mid-atlantic. 73 in harrisburg. 82 in new york. boston, a cool 68 degrees. one of the nice days to open up the windows. 80 in richmond. still warmer and toasty.

back northwest. cooler air moving in behind the cold front bringing the showers and thunderstorms. especially across parts of pennsylvania. over virginia. right around maryland though, baltimore, we did not get a lot of activity rain wise. but there were showers and thunderstorms firing up and erupting over pennsylvania. heavy downpours of rain and few severe thunderstorms in adams county earlier and york county. but looking at 81 baltimore. 81 in d.c. 82 in fredericksberg and continue to see the temperatures warm up through the day tomorrow. back into the mid to upper 80s. and good news is, like i said, relief pushed through and we will continue to see just slightly cooler temperatures with off-and-on shower through the next several days. future scan shows a clear start for the morning commute. then a few pop-up showers possible by late afternoon. then we will see a nice quiet night for thursday to start us off for thursday morning. then into the afternoon. another run of showers and thunderstorms possible. in the area. tomorrow, expect sun and clouds. and temperatures right around 88 degrees. northerly wind at five. with a chance for afternoon

dislocated finger. he left the field with trainers. but appeared better later today. no word on his availability thursday night against the redskins. after almost three weeks of hard work, the ravens are very much looking forward to thursday. it is meaningless to be sure. but the lights will be on, and the stadium full. and better yet, someone other than your teammates to go up against. the consensus is that's the best part about it. >> we are excited to get out there and play a live game again. we have been waiting awhile to do that. when you are here in camp, you kind of want to get away from your own team, and you want to get away from the college, and go out and, you know, play games with fans and excited to do that. >> you are definitely excite bad a game. we have had two weeks of a hard training camp. and, you know, excite bad every day coming out here. this is an -- this game, we tell the team is an extension. training camp game. extension of training camp. you know, it is not a practice obviously. it is a game.
