as sarah palin put it seniors and babies with disabilities quote will have to stand in front of obama's death panel so his bureaucrats can decide whether they are worthy of health care. >> that one is so wrong it has gotten a pants on fire on our truth meter. >> phil dare that runs truth or dare. said false. it arose out of an idea to allow medicare to pay for counseling for people that wanted advice about end of life care. >> if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. if you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan. >> true or false? in theory these things are true. but there are valid concerns. >> given that this is going to change the marketplace of health insurance we don't know if any given health insurance is going to be offered the same way in a few years. >> rationing, true or false.

arguably private health insurance plans ration. they decide what is covered and what is not. politifact.com said nothing is in the house bill that specifically addresses rationing, but it is logical to assume that someone has to decide what and how much is covered. >> if you like the post office and the department of motor vehicle and you think they are run well, just wait until you see medicare, medicaid and health care done by the government. >> but government cannot run big programs. true or false? critics have gone as far as drawing up a diagram of how dysfunctional the government health care plan will be. even though no such diagram exists. >> if the government can run medicare what is to say it could not

. >> city prosecutors dropped the charges against the man accused of rape in charles village. it happened last year. police released the sketch of the suspect in may 2008. police arrested 45-year-old marlow humbert. now they say dna evidence did not match up. so he was freed last july after sitting in jail for more than a year waiting for dna results. tonight prosecutors say why it took so long. >> the law enforcement community and prosecutors, this is not enough employees in the lab, as well as criminal analysts to complete the necessary work in a timely fashion. >> prosecutors say they applied for stimulus funds from the government to speed up the testing. >> the fbi needs your help to

find a baltimore bank robber. this man robbed a bank on tuesday, m&t. 5'9, 210 pounds. he had a note threatening to shoot the teller with a 357 magnum. talk about a family tree. a father and daughter are charged with growing marijuana. authorities in kent county saw 63-year-old man and his daughter 10ing to the plants last week. nine plants in all were seized. more evidence was discovered in their queen anne's county house. charges are pending in both counties. >> muggy summer day. >> go to chief meteorologist vytas reid with the forecast. better than yesterday. but muggy. >> muggy but not as hot as tomorrow. and looking at a few showers and thunderstorms making the way through the area tonight. still northern baltimore county. a little bit of rain coming down north of mugton. and continue to see that move slowly south. up in cockeysville and sparks and phoenix, may get showers.

eldersburg. rain there as well. and continue to see that kind of meander on the way through the area. as we get through the overnight. zooming out the picture. you see up in pennsylvania more rain. and some of the activity will make the way down. you see in winters town. new freedom getting the rain. put it in motion. you see the showers continuing to make the way across the area. we have seen off-and-on spotty showers because of the moisture in the atmosphere. temperatures 89 degrees right now. and in baltimore. 87 in d.c. and those were the highs today. and it looks like we will see the temperatures cooling down to the 70s overnight and 79 around lunch time tomorrow. and more showers to talk about through the afternoon tomorrow. how long they will stick around coming up in the seven-day forecast. . >> anne arundel county man helps himself to his neighbor's property. and then sells it at a yard sale. his interesting explanation next. >> and there is a guy in a car (inaudible).

maiden voyage on twitter. bloomberg wants to use twitter to get the campaign message out. why knock on doors when you can tweet. he began tweeting during a spanish lesson. and later during a yankee game. >> today he managed to twitter five, six, maybe seven times. he will be not be twit he tering with that regulator every day but expect to see him pop up through the campaign. >> well, twiter and "facebook" seem to be the domain of the young. bloomberg is counting on tweets to reach new yorkers of all ages. >> going high tech. wisconsin man is going to jail convicted for drunk driving. 15 times. it is latest episode. you have to keep score here. all right. in the latest episode he drove drunk now, hit five cars in a neighborhood. and a tree while police were giving chase. he will serve six years. tonight state lawmakers are now floating ideas around on strengthening the punishment for people like this guy.

>> michigan man faces charges after police say he used his son to try to meet women. people at out ca's grant park started to call police when they saw a 7-year-old boy crying saying his father, who by the way was drunk in a parked car. forced the boy to say that his mother was dead and his dad needed a woman. >> i just talked to the kid. he was sitting on the sidewalk, and crying, and he says my dad is going to be mad at me because i cannot get single women to come to the car. >> how old was the kid? >> eight or nine. >> the father is charged with disorderly conduct. at least. child protective services is also stepping in. >> you cannot make these stories up. incredible. >> stick and he hazy out there today. >> any clear days in the future? vytas is here to let us know. >> we will get sun mix in the clouds and still a chance for few pop-up showers and thunderstorms. tonight we could see a few.

looking at the skycam toward federal hill there. we can see that no rain falling downtown. bishot pee showers earlier. 76 degrees. mostly cloudy skies. winds out of the east-northeast at eight. and humidity levels at 82 percent. and pressure is falling at this time. on the bigger picture. northeast temperatures. across the region. the temperatures in the 70s for the most part. 73 new york. 70 in harrisburg. 76 in baltimore. looking at 79 in richmond. continue to see a bit of a push of cooler temperatures out of the great lakes over the next few days. area of low pressure is giving counter-clockwise rotation of moisture as you can see it coming down from the northeast here. out of pennsylvania. but then it travels up to the east. northeast. out over the atlantic. so we have the circulation right over maryland. and that is bringing down the moisture. we still have the chance on for seeing pop up showers and thunderstorms. closer look here. out in western maryland we saw rain earlier but they have breaks in the clouds out there. toward frostburg and cumberland. and in our neck of the woods, like i said, we have the chance for a few pop ups.

here is what's happening on the future scan. as far as the potential. rain moves out tomorrow morning. 6 a.m. is a dry commute to work. and by the afternoon, keep the umbrellas nearby. still the chance for pop up showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. and then through the evening. and fry -- by friday. things clear up. and late afternoon, another round of potential showers across the area. what is causing the instability is the stationary front here. area of low pressure associated with that. creates lift. and that counter-clockwise circulation brings in atlantic moisture. but we have dryer air. high pressure sitting over the great lakes trying to suppress the moisture and push it back east. closer to the weekend that will actually help us. by giving us more clearing into the weekend. so looking at 82 degrees with a chance for some stray showers and thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. and on the five-day forecast. it looks like we will see the temperatures going from 82 to 85 on friday. 30 percent chance for showers. saturday 88 with a 30 percent chance. and then by sunday, monday, temperatures warm up more. more sunshine leading us into next week. and things warm back up to the

tomorrow is a preseason game but obviously treating it very seriously. and for the rookies, it is very serious. the top three draft picks, michael or, krueger and web all make the team. beyond that there are no guarantees. the rest of the rookies have to do something to grab attention and john harbaugh enjoys that part of the process. >> to be the most interesting thing is going to see how the rookies respond to the game situation. because they have never been in an nfl game before. we know the rookies, it will be new. some shine. have not shined as much in practice. and other guys will not shine. and be surprised by that may be. that's what we look forward to seeing. >> a lot of guys played in front of huge crowds before. but even those that play in florida state and georgia they are in awe of a nfl season. it is different. they will be looking around the stadium with big eyes. like we all did when we did it. >> meanwhile the orioles wrapped up the series with the as in the daylight at camden yards. they won last night but are struggling. birds went in today trying to
