the acorn scandal. >> and more calls for investigations, even from the non-profit group itself. now, fifth undercover video is released. >> latest apparent shows a acorn worker in san diego california helping a couple pose as a pimp and a prostitute planning to transport underage girls from el salvador into the country. >> where is the best place. like all of these answers he wants right away. >> why? >> because i have a lot of contacts. >> they may be able to assist in crossing the border? >> yeah. >> worker told the couple he wants all further communications about this plan on e-mail only. governor arnold schwarzenegger has called for a complete investigation. and after a series of undercover videos, including one right here in baltimore, acorn's own ceo said it will stop taking clients and bring in independent investigators. >> on capitol hill several

lawmakers are calling for a federal investigation of acorn. one senator from nebraska wants the u.s. attorney general to get involved. another from alabama is calling for a sweeping investigation because he believes acorn's corruption is wide spread. >> i believe there is pattern of corruption all throughout acorn. balance problems, trying to falsify. child porn and other things. income tax deals. we need a thorough investigation by the inspector general, at the housing department. and we also need a hearing and investigation by the committee that banking housing committee that i sit on. >> meanwhile, in maryland, several state lawmakers are also looking into funding and grants issued to the acorn office in baltimore over the last few years. >> we have breaking news tonight out of northeast baltimore. police are on the scene of a shooting in the 3400 block of

cliff mont avenue. the shooting happened at 8:40 this evening. it appears one man was killed. we will have more information when it becomes available. . >> first on fox tonight. the mba said the baltimore bus company without insurance was transporting students. the mba filed a complaint against just for you transit after the state was unable to verify it was covered. while the investigation continues, buses continue to transport students from baltimore's freedom academy. >> there is actually some information that said that some of the cars that were in question, that there has been a cancellation. >> meanwhile maryland's public service commission said the citation will now likely issued for insurance violations. >> we're learning more about the criminal past of the intruder killed in north baltimore yesterday. police say a hopkins student used a samaurai sword to kill him. investigators say john pont

illegal low heard a noise in the garage and looked inside and found donald rice, a man with a long criminal record. city prosecutors say the 49-year-old intruder had 29 prior convictions, most of them misdemeanors, with the exception of one gun case in 2007. >> in that felony gun case, it did turnout that the case was dismissed because the police officer that was the necessary witness failed to appear as a result of the deployment to iraq. >> he told police that rice lunged at him. the student struck rice with the sword. cutoff his hand and slashed his upper body. rice died later. >> a teenager is arrested for a deadly shooting at a bus stop in northeast baltimore. daryl lisbon arrested and charged with murder. he shot and killed trenton marshal as he was on a bicycle near the bus stop, about 4:00, last friday. witnesses say lisbon shot marshal right in the head. >> drug arrests end in death in

southeast baltimore. two cops in the 2800 block of orleans street this morning when they tried to arrest two men on drug charges. one of the suspects stabbed an officer in the back. that's when the other cop started to shoot. the suspect that tried to stab the cop died at the hospital. other suspect taken into custody. . >> and yet another first on fox tonight. a man that said he was wrongly arrested and jailed sues a baltimore city police officer for more than $60 million. charges were dropped against joseph forest last month after officer tracy mckiss sick recanted the story. back in february, she said forest tried to grab the gun in a scuffle. and forest was charged with assault. should forest prevail in this case? the baltimore city police department will be picking up the tab. meantime mckiss sick is on the police force. >> new developments in the cases against baltimore mayor and city council member. in the case against mayor sheila

dixon a judge ordered prosecutors to handover two grand jury subpoenas. the defense argues the subpoenas are necessary to prove whether there was any potential abuse in the grand jury process. but the state said the defense is merely trying to slow down the process by requesting the additional information. >> after hearing both sides the judge ruled in favor of the defense. >> it demonstrates that the state recognizes that there are holes in the case and so they needed to fill the holes, with documents and witnesses that they did not have. so that's why they issued the subpoenas to the people to begin with. we think that the fact that the state views it that way is going to be something that we can use in our defense. >> the mayor's case is scheduled to go to trial in november. while city council woman helen holton's trial is set to begin in december. just this week attorneys for holtton filed a motion to dismiss. one of the two counts that she was indicted on. >> two major parades in the city of baltimore succumb to the recession as does the police

department again. >> john rydell has latest. >> they are fall favorites for on thousands of baltimore people. but the thanksgiving parade and columbus day parade the latest victims of the city budget crisis. mayor sheila dixoned the city hopes to plan other less costly events for the public. >> so, i mean, most people to tend to come out in the spring and for certain events and we want to build on those as well. and maybe do something in the inner harbour. to celebrate thanksgiving to get people out to the community. >> meantime the police department is still struggling to find ways to cut its budget, without impacting public safety. >> my job, and all the police officers of the city's job is to make sure that we're investigating crime and doing our darnest to keep people safe. >> unlike the city of philadelphia which has been forced to layoff hundreds of police officers, there are no such plans for drastic cutbacks here in baltimore. at least within this police department. >> but police commissioner

. >> after president obama laid out his health care reform wish list last week, key player in the senate negotiations unveils his plan. but this proposal doesn't have everything the president is looking for. sandra endo has the details. >> alternative health care reform plan introduced by senate finance committee chairman max baucus, key player in the contentious negotiations. >> this is a good bill. this is a balanced bill. it can pass the senate. >> the baucus plan woman date coverage for every american by 2013. or else they will face fines. create non-profit health care coops, leaving out the president's preferred public option proposal. prohibit federal money for abortions, except for cases of incest, rape, or if the life of the mother is in danger. the total cost, $856 billion over 10 years. paid for by cuts in medicare, and new taxes in fees.

that price tag is one of several sticking points for senate republicans. >> this debate about health care should be about reducing costs. that should be the first goal. >>the baucus plan won no immediate g.o.p. support. despite being a less costly plan than the trillion dollars proposal from house democrats. to get the plan passed compromise has to be on the horizon in boat chambers. >> our bill goes further than the senate bill. but we hope we can work together to have the best possible bill. >> senator baucus said the proposal is similar to what the president was calling for. a white house spokesman said the plan is another boost of momentum to reform health care. in washington, i am sandra endo. >> that brings us to the question of the day. should there be a law requiring americans to carry health insurance? so far, 15 percent say yes. 85 percent say no. ed writes, yes but only of those

boundary that moved through. and we have the cooler air out there. in fact, sitting at 59 degrees in harrisburg. 64 in baltimore. and that cool air continues to settle in over the mid-atlantic. that means tomorrow, temperatures high maybe in the upper 60s. so it will be a cool one out there. continue to see the shower activity here. that will continue to give us a few light showers tonight. and then cool air continues to funnel in behind the front. and it looks like high pressure try to make the way down. but really going to give us just still a chance for dry spots out there. but then still chances for wet spots as well. so for the next couple of days, like i said, keep the umbrellas nearby. sky watch forecast tomorrow. high of 69. mostly cloudy skies. with a chance for pop up showers here and there. and then for the five-day forecast. those showers taper off friday. 79 the high. 71 saturday with sunshine. and sunshine on on sunday. 73 degrees. and monday looking at mostly cloudy skies. temperatures around 76. back to you guys.
