>> hello, i am jennifer gilbert. >> and i am jeff barnd. police confirm they bound found the body of a baltimore woman. >> mia nickels missing for a year. hunters found the remains in a wooded area in win sore mill. they used dental records to identify the body. her boyfriend web is charged with the murder. >> our detectives contact the city detectives and they were working on this case for the last year. working hard. we provided them with the final piece. which was the body of the victim. >> police say nickels had been shot to death. according to charging documents she found out that her boyfriend had gotten another woman pregnant. and was planning to leave him. before she was killed can. >> a 17-year-old escapee from the hick he juvenile detention facility is back in custody who helped him escape and why. karen parks is live at the maryland state gold on en ring barrack with the latest on the story. karen? >> jordan stephen dupont held at

the treatment center facility. escaped from custody on monday. and then today state police tell us he was helped by a youth councilor at the facility. both are facing charges. but jeff, there is more. the youth councilor, 26-year-old tyra greenfield of whitemarsh is charged with harboring and sexual child abuse. police say greenfield and dupont developed a relationship inside the treatment center for juvenile sex offenders and planned the escape. dupont was on an outing at whitemarsh mall with other kids and guards when he escaped. a call to his family cell phone led investigators to the councilor. >> we have learned that there was a sexual intercourse that took place at her residence. and later the next morning, she drove that juvenile to a residence in laurel delaware, which is where we apprehended him at. she indicates that there was no sexual relationship that took

place within the facility. that the first incident was the night of the escape. >> bail was set for greenfield at $75,000. if convicted, she must register as a child sex offender. reporting live in middle river, karen karen fox 45 news. >> all right karen. baltimore city police need your help to find a suspect in a home invasion and rape. police say september 23, this man hit a woman in the head with a baseball bat. and assaulted her in her west baltimore home. >> the victim's children were in the house at the time of the assault as well. so this guy is definitely dangerous. brazen. and we need to bring him to justice. >> if you have any information whatsoever on this case, call the baltimore police sex offense unit at (410)396-2076. >> a man is found dead in his home lightning a pool of blood on the kitchen floor. it happened yesterday afternoon in the 9500 block of liberty road in randallstown. 55-year-old rodney lewis was stabbed to death. homicide detectives are

interviewing his friends. but have few leads and no motive. police recovered lewis' stolen suv. it was recovered this afternoon, and anyone with information about this murder asked to call baltimore county police at 410-3070 20/20. >> in a crime and justice report fox 45 spoke exclusively with the sister of a suspect charged with killing a baltimore county landlord. michael dimattei and erin steffy tenants of david weeks. dimattei sister said the couple met in rehab. and they arrested dimattei and steffy was nowhere to be had and then dimattei's sister crossed her path. >> i knew my brother did not do this. and i would have searched high and low for her day-in and day-out. for him to be charged with first-degree murder is shocking. to tell you the truth. shocking. >> dimattei's sister saw staff fee at an intersection and chased her down and penned her

until police could arrive. apparently david weeks was planning to evirginia tech the two. >> city police suspend a commander. the major was stripped of police powers and ordered home without -- with pay. he has commanded the southeastern district since 2007. and has been a member of the police force since 1991. police are not comment king except to say that it is not a criminal matter. >> according to the baltimore sun the prosecutor in the phoenix case, that is the dog abuse case, claims the twin suspects have gang ties. the 17-years-old are charged as juveniles. with setting fire to phoenix. rescue workers had to euthanize the dog. the twins are also charged as adults with illegal drugs and firearms possession in a separate case. >> if you have influenza there is a good chance it is h1n1. state officials say 98 percent

our temperatures will be going up. good news. look outside right now at the hd radar. no activity in the form of rain around central maryland. but back to the west. there is a warm front ahead of a cold front heading our direction. so that's the indication of increasing temperatures. and rain showers. some of the storms strong. violent storms pushing through parts of northern mississippi and also in arkansas. it looks like they have had tornado warnings as of about an hour ago. looking at 56 in baltimore. 52 in hagerstown. 48 in salisbury. see the temperatures dropping down to the upper 40s, overnight. through the mid-morning hours. sun and clouds. and then by the afternoon, mid 60s to almost 70 degrees. and our high tomorrow in the mid 70s. so it looks like pretty good start to the weekend. rain to talk about. i will have a look at that coming up with the weekend forecast coming up. >> thank you so much. >> general assembly has a panhandling measure to ban those soliciting on all roads unless there was a permitment law

supposed to take effect today. but the county can law enforcement say it is unenforceable. >> people standing there with a sign, soliciting dollars, walking street. becoming a safety hazard for drivers. people felt like they were being hairsed. >> the county council must enact their own ordinance that extends permits to those soliciting money on state roads. >> another new law took effect today. the no texting law. if you are caught by a cop, texting while driving, you could be fined up to $500. the law is only for sending a text not reading one. and the texting ban is being criticized because of possible problems with enforcing that one. >> and that brings us to the question of the day. will the new law keep you from texting while driving? so far it is 50/50. kenneth from baltimore writes. they need to outlaw the use of any hand-held device while driving. for read more, go to
