we will hear from candace dold to tell us about the roadways and how they're being affected by the fog. you can see on the west side of the chesapeake bay, on the harbor county and all the way to the south the dense fog advisory to 9:00 a.m. at the bus stop, be careful, the cars may not see that easily if you're waiting by the bus stop. it's comfortable enough with a west wind at 5 miles an hour. later in the day we will see fog work in, and we will be left with a mix of sun and clouds. there could be an isolated shower as a frontal boundary to the northwest have to push through here first before we dry out tomorrow. 67 by noon, topping ought at 67 degrees and partly cloudy at 6:00 p.m. with a closer look at the roadways and how they're being affected by the fog, here is candace dold with the traffic edge. candace. >> reporter: wow, it's incredible out there. coming through baltimore county,

you can -- howard county you can barely see lights in front of you. it's going to be foggy in some the area bridges. here it is moving at the key bridge this morning that is indeed going to be the case. it looks like it's lifting a little bit here, but nonetheless, you're going to find that you need to make sure you adjust your speeds accordingly. as for the 95 lanes up to 83, we're looking at a normal ride as far as the volume is concerned the 11 minutes, 54 miles per hour. and the same speed with an 8 minute clip from 83 up toward 795. as you go around the bend from 795 toward 95 are so far, 11 minutes at 55 miles per hour there, but please keep that fog in mind. t going to be a tricky commute. that's a look at the morning travels. patrice, back over to you. 5:31 on fox 45 early edition. federal agents arrest a baltimore postal worker. the fayette street employee is accused of opening more than

1200 greeting cards and stealing the gift inside. megan gilliland is live from the post office with more on how they caught him. good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning, patrice over the past three months investigators say they were finding 20 to 100 greeting cards through almost every day. they launched an investigation and caught andrew walsh an employee here at the fayette street office in the act. according to court paper had been opening the greeting cards and stealing the co contents ine from gift cards to cash. the gift card never made it. >> i was angry. how could somebody steal from a 3-year-old. i'm sure they did not know how old my granddaughter was, but still the birth card said happy birthday 3 years old. >> reporter: it violates the public trust.

i mean, the mail there should be trust when you send things through the mail. >> reporter: police arrested walsh on tuesday night at his home in cockeysville. while they were there, they also recovered more than 400 gift cards found inside of his car there. walsh is charged with theft of mail. if he so convicted of that, he could spend up to five years behind bars. no word if he would have to pay restitution. live from the fayette street post office, megan gilliland, fox 45. the latest incident happened after midnight tuesday at a fraternity house in the 200 block of east burke avenue. police say one of the students who lives there was doing homework when six guys wearing red bandanas stormed into the house and robbed him. >> the first guy had a revolver and he didn't notice the rest. it was so quick for him. he was told to stay in the kitchen and not to move.

>> the robbers got away with cash, computers, and police are trying to determine if the incident was connected to one last month where two students were assaulted and robbed in their dorm room. the 82-year-old kent island woman killed last week suffered from alzheimer's. she was recently combative and a babusive toward her husband. he is accused of killing his wife and setting the house on fire. a trial that has been delayed 10 times is expected to begin. matthew evans is scheduled to be in baltimore circuit court today. they are charged with killing conaway four years ago. conaway was being held at the city detention center when he was stabbed. he died two days later. first on fox, a west baltimore student says she considered harming herself after

being bullied at school. shana is a 3rd grader at baltimore el men tray school. she has cerebral palace se palss some of her classmates hit her crutches and punched her. on tuesday, that led shana to a window ledge. >> soy felt mad. because people teased me so i got mad. >> school administrators would not comment on the case but say there are antibullying policies in place and there's consequences for the students who violate the school's scoad. a police report has been filed. members of the baltimore city council will consider a bottle tax today. the tax was proposed by stephanie rawlings-blake as a way to increase city revenue. residents would be forced to pay a 4-cent tax on bottle containers. it wouldn't apply to milk, juice or large containers.

property taxes will remain unchanged for the 5th straight year. yesterday the board of public works unanimously voted in the favor of keeping the taxes at the current rate for the next fiscal year. that means property owners will continue to pay $0.11 per $100 of the assessed land value. funeral ceremonies for the former archbishop of baltimore will begin today. archbishop william borders will lie? state at the cathedral of mary our queen. visitation will begin from this morning. and borders was the 13th archbishop of baltimore serving from nunn 74 to 1989. the 90 years old died on monday night in timonium. the homeless man accused of stealing a plane from a frederick airport will appear in court today.

calvin cost is facing charges including theft and trespassing. police say he stole a single engine plane from frederick municipal airport back in december. he is reportedly jit skits 47 sc crashed the plane and no one was hurt. travelers stuck in europe are finally coming home. a full flight from london came from into thurgood marshal airport last night. heathrow airport was calm during the whole disruption but they're very glad to be home. >> to be stranded somewhere and not be able to get home. you begin to realize how wonderful home really is. >> all flights coming in or going out are expected to be on time but airport officials say it's best to check with the airlines first. city leaders want to bring verizon fios services to charm city. a group of city council leaders

us some fog as a result of the rain yesterday. the rain is out of here. it's gone, however, the fog remains. here is what we're looking at, tell us rain moving off the eastern seaboard and out of here. we have a chance of rain coming in today. an isolated shower possible as the frontal boundary works in. it's the fog that we're most concerned about this morning and candace will give us an update on the roads it morning. we do see the fog advisory from the majority of the state as you look on the west side of the chesapeake bay from harford county all the way across the washington county and across the chesapeake bay. all of those areas from d.c. and beyond in virginia, until 9:00 a.m. it's going to be hanging around for a while. 52 in washington, it's rather mild because of all the clouds, 48 degrees in salisbury. 48 in hagerstown and 45 in oakland. we're going to pick up again just a chance for an isolated shower as i mentioned to the next front. if we get anything, it will be

about .10 of an inch of rainment and that will be in the afternoon hours at 2:00 p.m. it s going to be here and there. most of us won't be affected by the front. that is the culprit if we do see a shower at all. behind it more air will work in. we will see more sunshine behind it, too. with high pressure pushing into the area, we will see more sun and comfortable temperatures. the next frontal boundary, this is the one watching this is going to be the beginning of the a rainy period toward saturday night with a chance of showers. this low being blocked by high pressure up in the northeast is going to hang in here without anything to push it out completely. it will be blocked in place and very slowly move through. therefore a chance of some showers not just for late saturday night into sunday, sunday when we could have thunderstorms, too. that would be in the warmest part of the air, but we will also have a chance of showers continuing through monday, tuesday, maybe into wednesday. and we will have to see if that gets out of here before that. 70 degrees is the expected high

today in the eastern shore with partly cloudy skies, winds out of the northwest at 10-15 miles per hour, a little breezy, perhaps. the central part of the state, getting close to the 70-degree mark or 71 degrees for the high then. northwest winds at 5-15 miles per hour. generally partly cloudy skies, almost mostly sunny at times later in the afternoon. the isolated chance only for a shower as the cold front pushes through. back to the west, look for a high temperature there. 69 degrees with partly cloudy skies, we can't rule out a shower in that part of the stay, either. 55 degrees for the overnight low as the skies clear behind the front. that is fairly seasonable. we drop to 44 degrees for overnight this time of the year. tomorrow 69 degrees for the high. we will see mostly clear skies, and comfortable temperatures in the upper 60s. 65 degrees cooler on saturday with the showers coming in later at night. a better chance of some thunder on sunday, 65 degrees for the high, cool down a little bit more for monday, tuesday, and

wednesday. 62 for monday, and 62, and 63 on wednesday. each day a chance for a shower even though a lesser chance as we go and compared to the weekend. fox 45 sky watch weather is available at your finger tips. iradar is available at foxbaltimore.com. you can use fox 45 powerful doppler radar to track incoming storms. the enter tac interactive toolst you see when rain or thunderstorms will be over your house. now we will check on the roadways which is difficult to see over you. here is candace dold with the traffic edge. >> reporter: thanks, steve. that is indeed the top story this morning. we're talking about the fog making for a difficult commute. please allow yourself a few extra minutes if you have to travel this morning. we're checking in on the speeds and so far, we're looking not too bad, 49 miles per hour on the southbound lanes of 95. that is traveling through whitemarsh. a little farther down at 395 at 52 miles per hour. again, you don't need to travel this fast. it's going to be an extra difficult ride.

let's check it on you the on 83 at north baltimore county, here it is at york road. you can barely see the cars that are coming down the pike on the northbound and the southbound stretch. this is really, it's what you're going to face this morning on whatever corridor you're traveling. 83 farther down, here it is moving through the baltimore county region just above the beltway and pretty much the same deal the reduced visibility we will have to deal with. as far as the volume, it's pretty ripe so that is the good news of it. you can travel and use caution. now what is happening on the beltway, well no problems to report moving through the pikesville region moving at 795. let's check it out on liberty road, the same deal but the volume is starting to pick up here inner and outer loop toward 95. that's a look at your morning travels. patrice, back over toy. thank you, candace. the ravens have a need at tied end. find out what the team's manager
