3 3 maryland lawmakers are heading back to annapolis, toda. today. a special legislative ssssion conveees, this morning....as lawmakers decide whether to add table games and a sxith casino in maryland. maryland. the governor called the special session two weeks ago....with hopes of maximizing casino revenues.... but critics are shaking their heads. (3:33) "we're going to do this in a whirlwind session in the middle of the summer when people are on the beach or on vacation. its going to have zero accountability and zero scrutiny. it really is kind of a scandal." scandal." even if lawmakers approve tte measure, it must still be approved by

voters in november. 3 the investigation continues this morning... in the death of a 3-month old baby... in east baltimore.it's a story you're seeing first on fox. fox.the family suspects foul play and homicide detectives are looking into it. p-month-old kaiden bailey was with his mother at her home on montpelier street... when another family membbr says she found the boy not breathing and blood coming out of his nos. nose.that was july 14...the baby was in the hospital.. in a coma... before being taken off life support about a eek ago. kaiden's paternal grandmother calls his death suspicious... after getting varring stories from those who were inside the home that day. breathing, he just didn't have blood come out of his nose for " nothing." police are waiting for an autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death.so far, no charges have been filed. baltimore city police are searching for the person... who shot a man just west of downtown baltimore.we were at the scene on stockton street... near west pratt... as police were gathering evidence.the shooting happened &paround 3-30 yesterday afternoon.a man was shot in the shoulder....and ran into the social services building on west pratt.he is expected to survive. two children are being called heroes... after warning others of a gunman on a rampage at their sikh house of worship in suburban milwaukee sunday morning. 6 people were killed and 4 others injured..but as ed payne explains... the numbers could have been much worse. 3 an 11-year-old boy and his nine-year-old sister were outside the temple when it all began. we find this purple taxi or a four-sour sedan and he -- a white man had come out

3 a man in washington d-c ordered a flat screen t-v from a third party vendor through amazon dot com... but what actually arrived in the mail was a shock. shock.as kristen fisher

explains... the box contained a high powered rifle! rifle! "even as i opened it there were some metal parts and i thought, 'oh, maybe these go with the tv?' and then of course as i opened the foam up a little further, it was kind of a huge shock to see that this was a military-grade rifle."seth horvitz is still trying to prrcess how a ups driver could drop off such a deadly weapon on his doorstep and in a city where these kinds of guns are illegal."how could this happen? how could this mix-up happen?"the ups label did have horvitz's name and address on it, but the invoice inside the box was made out to a gun store in pennsylvania. seth didn't know what to do. he knew that simply having this gun was illegal in dc. he also knew it's illegal to drive with it in your car, even if you're driving to a police station. so seth called police and they came out to his apartment."not something they encounter every day, for sure."dc police confiscated the weapon and they say they're still investigating how it ended up

bars.... a criminal is caught on camera trying to rob a mcdonald's...but the only thiig he gets away with... is dessert.this surveillance video shows a man breaking into mcdonald's and trying to steal one of the cash registers. he fumbles around with it... but when it won't budge ... he decides to llad up an arm full of yogurt paafaits and head for the door.police recognized the suspect ... and say they found him outside the restaurant... still covered in glass from the door he broke to get in to he restaurant. "if you're going to get the charge for breaking innyou might as well get something out of it. we've seen a little bit of everything... it's a crime but it was still kind of amusing for the officers that were involved." the man now faces charges of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief.

caffeine fix these days, all you need is a smartphone. starbucks is teaming up with square, a start-up that allows shoppers to pay with their smart-phone at affiliated stores. starting this fall, square will process all of the coffee giant's debit and credit card transactions. that means that at 7-thousand starbucks locations, customers who download the "pay by square" app will be able to pay for their latte with their phone. just show a barcode on the app to a cashier, who then scans the code. that's similar to starbucks' existing mobile payment app... but this gives the customer another option. and eventually, the app will go a step further...and this is where it gets really to do is tell the cashier your name. so here's how phase two of this partnership will work... your phone will recognize when you're in a starbucks and it will notify the store. your name and photo will appear at the register. just say your name, thh cashier matches your account, and your payment is processed. starbucks doesn't know when this feature will hit stores... but it's in the works. the coffee giant will be the first big chain to partner with square. this
