ticking toward a potential government shutdown, some federal workers will begin to get verbal furlough notices in the next 24 to 36 hours. but as dana bash explains... that isn't the only deadline looming for lawmakers. it would be one thing for the government to shut down in 4 days. national parks would close. medical research interrupted. that would be bad. but then - 17 days later - the u.s. could default on its loans if congress doesn't raise the debt ceiling. that would be catastrophic "on the debt limit, we're going to introduce a plan..." house republicans say they want to raise the de ceiling but with a catch. along with it, a lengthy list of gop priorities: from the keystone pipeline, to tax reform, to delaying obamacare for 1 year. its a direct challenge to the president "i will not negotiate on anything when it comes to the full faith and credit of the united states of america." "i'm not sure." and even this debt ceiling plan democrats dismiss as gop fantasy, doesn't satisfy some republicans. "the plan right now does not address the spending." that brings us back to more the imminent october 1st deadline over funding the government. "we have no interest in seeing a government shutdown." that may be true, but time is running out. once the senate finally passes a bill funding the government, house republicans plan to change it and send it back. "planting one acre cost about 20,000 dollars..." "so, 250 times 20,000?" first man in the nation to have a bionic leg. (reporter question) "when you took that first step, what was that like?" "it's exciting, it's neat, it's intuitive. it puts energy into me walking and moving around." in 2009, vawter lost his right leg from the knee down in a motorcycle accident. his bionic leg allows for knee bending and ankle movement. "probably the most exciting is doing stairs for the first time is really awesome." with a regular prosthetic leg, movement like this isn't possible. so how does this all work? two nerves in vawter's leg were rewired to his hamstring muscle. those nerves communicate with the sensors inside the prosthetic leg socket. the sensors send a message to this computer.
