a crash involving three vehicles, including a church bus and a tractor trailer, leaves at least eight people dead. andrew spencer reports the crash on interstate 40 also injured more than a dozen people, wednesday, when the church bus apparently blew a tire. from the air, you can see all that remains of the front of this tractor trailer...covered in soot and water after the fire that erupted when it collided with a church bus on i- 40 in eastern tennessee. the bus carried 18 people -- mostly seniors from front street baptist church in statesville, north carolina...whose pastor spoke overnight. "we do know that there were several that went on to be with the lord." the tennessee highway patrol believes the bus driver lost control... "the bus had a blow-out on one of it's tires. we believe it to be the front steer axle-- steering axle, there, and it caused the bus to lose control." the bus then crossed the median, breaking through cables

and crashing into the tractor trailer and an s-u-v. almost immediately, witnesses flooded 9-1-1 dispatch with phone calls. "the first ambulances and fire apparatus were on scene in less than five minutes." the quick response wasn't enough to save at least eight people. the driver of the tractor trailer, six people riding the church bus, and one of three people inside the s-u-v were all killed. "we hope and pray that there will be no more." ambulances carried some of the injured to nearby hospitals, while others were taken by helicopter. "out of those 14, eight are being treated as critically injured individuals, and we also have two that are serious and four that are currently stable." meanwhile, people in statesville console each other... hope...and pray. i'm andrew spencer, reporting. the captain of the southwest flight that made a hard landing at laguardia airport in new york.. back in july.. is fired. the plane landed on its nose...wheels first, causing

the nose gear to collapse. 10 passengers were injureed. the captain had flown with southwest for 13 years. touche! a fencing coach stops a crook right in his tracks! franco scaramza was pulling into a shopping center in nashville... when he saw two men use pepper spray against a couple... then steal a purse. so he jumped out of his car.. .grabbed his fencing sword.. and started charging towards the suspects. the good samaritan just came back from fencing practive.. was "on-guard" .. so to speak. the creature exists. it was taken in 2005 in kentucky. as you know, there has been a lot of controversy and a lot of doubt about the existence of sasquatch, including the number of experts who have dismissed a number of these claims. so things like that shook your reality, shake your world. and you say, well, there's gotta be more to the subject than just a myth. the group's work is not done. they say they continue to collect evidence and also gather videos. some of that video will be used in a documentary that will be released at some later date. it is suspicous. what i can tell you is... that baltimore county police... are still on the scene here... searching for clues... trying to piece things together here. i'm megan gilliland, fox45 morning news. acclaimed novelist and baltimore native, tom clancy... has died. he penned such books as "the hunt for red october" and "patriot games"... that were later turned into movies. clancy died tuesday night at johns hopkins ... no word on the cause of death. he attended loyola blakefield in the 60's... where he was a member of the debate team and radio club... he also participated in intramural sports. we mourn the loss of a don of a son of loyola today and in many ways it means a great deal to us
