more than seven hours of deliberations he was accused in an attack that occured at an ellicott city nail salon. he eluded police for eight months before turning himself in at howard county police headquarters in march. sentencing is set for december. police say... they... caught a career criminial... who terrorized... businesses... across... anne arundel county ... for... the... past 10 months.../ investigators say dave holland of annapolis is responsible for a dozen smash and grabs. they say holland, would strike between 11 pm and 3 am...masked with a bandana, wearing the same clothing. this is surveillance video of his final smash and grab in deale, md. before this, police say he burglarized a barber shop, a ritas, starbucks, jimmy johns and many other busineses in anne arundel county. while fleeing a burglary in deale...that's when his vechicle was stopped and they found the tire iron in his car. "i hope he turns his life around and don't take things that aren't yours"

police say holland may be responsible for several more commercial burglaries. medical marijuana... may... be legal in maryland..../ but... synthetic marijuana is not..../ a new law... which bans the substance... hit... the books this week.../. jeff abell... shows us, its already having an impact.... the parents of charlie eichler blames synthetic marijuana for taking their son's health.. (father) "i firmly believe if he hadn't used it he'd be with us today..." maryland's new ban on synthetic pot hit the books this week. its sold as potpourri under names like k-2 and spice. but its laced with chemicals that mimic marijuana.... until now, manufactureres have skirtd federal laws

if we had less liquor stores there would be less crime. 18 wheeler... lost control ... making a sharp turn,... and dumped... its fruit.../ it took workers... most of the morning ...to clean up the mess.../ they had a coronoa... afterwads... no lime. and a good day for a kansas family who finally has the remains of their late grandmother back, after losing them in an unusual place. a few weeks ago, wichita liquor store owner charlie nguyen found an unusual container left on his counter. turned out they were a box of cremated ashes. he posted flyers, took out an ad on craigslist, but no one claimed them. until he got on the local news. that's when kathleen leonard realized her son had left them on the counter, while digging through his pockets for change. she says she'll have a talk with her son about being more respectful with his grandma's ashes.

for the third straight week, rates have tumbled. that's according to freddie mac. the average interest rate for the most popular kind of home loan, the 30 year-fixed rate, fell to four- point-22 percent. that's down from four- point-32 a week earlier. rates have dropped since the federal reserve unexpectedly announced that it would not alter its bond- buying stimulus program. a new orleans appeals court has let oil giant b-p off the hook for potentially millions of dollars in payments for the 2010 deepwater horizon oil spill in the gulf of mexico. the injunction would stop payments being made to many businesses that claimed loss or injury not directly linked to the 20-10 oil disaster. b-p has paid more than 12 billion dollars in compensation and more than 14 billion dollars in crisis response and clean-up of the oil spill.
