joining chief meteorologist eric thomas in our first alert weather center. you've been tracking what's coming on monday for a couple day now. has it changinged much? has it changed much? >> eric: not much. it is making landfall in seattle, washington. we are not going to pin anything down too much, maureen. you're right. it was fun friday with the snow that moved through. look at these polka dots. these are official storm reports . the snow flurries and the brief light snow that moved through. it is quite a cluster in the charlotte area. with that snow moving out on the dual poll power doppler radar, you folks in the mountains, look at this. this is rolling back to the northwest of the high country. you have the windchill advisory in affect. that's going to be dangerous. we are talking 5 to 15 below both tonight and through saturday night and sunday morning. alleganey and ash and watauga and avery county.

snow btv anytime you are posting on social media. stay up-to-date with changes in the forecast as we continue to track monday's storm. download the wbtv first alert weather app. it is free for your smartphone or tablet. now a shooting in catawba county. we now know the name of a man deputy. 50-year-old scott sanborn is charged in this case. according to authorities a sanborn about a stolen atv and he escaped out of a back window with a shotgun. the deputy went around the back of the home and sanborn allegedly fled on his atv with his 10-year-old son in front of him. he reached speeds of 70 miles per hour. the deputy called for help. when they found sanborn he was ordered to drop his weapon and

shotgun at the deputy and that's when the deputy fired three shots. he was hit in the happened. the deputy was not hurt. >> maureen: we are learning more of a gruesome discovery. the body of carolyn was found at her home in kershaw. her son is charged tonight. we now know she was shot seven times in the head with a rifle. authorities started looking into this case after an employee of a nearby bank told them a man came in asking about a woman's bank account. >> maureen: the search continues for a man accused of sexual assault. we first broke this story last night on "primetime." gregory powers, junior has warrants out for his arrest. he lives in harrisburg, but he left on tuesday. he could be in charlotte or south carolina. david wisnett has the details on the search.

gregory powers, junior's something. >> looks like an average joe. >> did you -- doesn't look familiar? >> he kind of looks familiar, but not sure where i know him from. the moles look familiar. >> reporter: it may have been from the sheriff's office. they said power left town on wednesday as he was about to face serious charges. >> for statutory rape and indecent lip tees with a -- indecent liberties with a minor. >> reporter: he lived in a busy area with homes, shops and a daycare. they believe powers left from hereafter learning he may face those charges. they say he is driving a 2011 chef rehhr -- chevy hhr like the one in the picture. they hope he can be found and are asking for help. >> we have an on going investigation and at the point we are now we secured warrants for gregory wayne powers,

voters will decide between seven candidates. you can see them on your screen. seven day later the democratic primary will beheld and voters will decide between three candidates. tonight we are taking a closer look at voter populations in south carolina. the state is known for being republican, but how big of a role will the latino vote play? jamie explains new on "primetime." >> the candidate rubio cruz or hillary clinton. >> clinton. >> reporter: almost a quarter million latinos live in south carolina. >> i am about the issues. >> reporter: a lot of whom are independent. >> many of our votes are up for grabs. many of us are happy to talk to candidates. >> reporter: and ready to talk elections. >> we have about 82,000 latinos that are eligible to vote. >> it used to be called the sleeping giant, the latino vote, because we didn't vote. now people are coming out and it is the awakened giant.

forecast when we come back. >> we are keeping an eye on the weather as a storm makes its way across the country and will eventually be here in the carolinas on monday. winter weather is expected. chief meteorologist eric weather center. he will break down what the storm has in store for us in a couple of minutes. winter weather is good news for neighbors in the mountains. we found stores and slopes packed with people getting in on some fresh snow. we are told today it made for great skiing weather because not only was it snowing, but it wasn't too cold. we asked business owners if these few weeks of winter weather will help them overcome the setback they had at the beginning of the season because of the unseasonably wrm temperatures -- warm temperatures. >> it is going great. a lot of snow and cold weather has been around consistently. it has been awesome. >> a lot of sales? is there a chance to make up for what we've missed?

forward, how about that? >> maureen: that's the right attitude. you have to move forward. all lanes are back open tonight after a leaking watermain caused issues for two days. the inbound right lane was closed yesterday morning and opened this afternoon. you can see it is clear. so if you drive the area you don't have to worry about that tonight. a watermain break in pennsylvania caused quite a mess. streets covered in ice. neighbors took pictures before they had to leave their apartments after their furnaces were covered in ice and damaged. >> i looked out the front window and it looked like there was a frozen wave of water. it was literally frozen solid.
