disaster team are helping those victims now. and gastonia firefighter said the dog escaped the fire. it took firefighters ten minutes to put out the flames. the home had no working smoke detector and gastonia fire can't stress how important those detectors are. they are also busy with a wreck this morning on i- 85 and exit 17. a semitruck and suv collide canned while the suv driver was trying to merge right after another vehicle ran into the semi. officials believe that the driver was distracted by her phone and didn't braevenlth she

the driver of the suv is charged with having no license, dwi and unsafe lane change. emergency responders working to serve a person thrown from a vehicle in northwest charlotte tonight. it happen near bell haven boulevard. we are working to learn more about the accident and how that person is doing now. another serious accident in our roadways. two helicopters were flown out to an accident in the springs. it involved two motorcycles. it happen on miller bridge road early this evening. we are working to learn more as troopers investigate. six people were killed after a man opened fire at random cross park ping lots in a town in michigan. we hope you enjoy the weekend.

>> this kind of tragedy happens in california or new york city or overseas. it doesn't happen here. >> reporter: 45-year-old jason dalton began when he seriously wounded a woman outside in a apartment complex. four hours a father and son killed in a car dallasership. and then dalton killed four women and a 14-year-old girl was injured. the women were in two vehicles here in the cracker barrel parking lot. authorities are are searching for a motive. he was working as a uber driver and passed the background check. this man was his passenger. >> he was driving through medians and lawn and finally once he came to a stop, i jumped
