wbtv on your side. >> maureen: the next scheduled court appearance is march 21st, but they believe the grand jury will indict her. >> maureen: right now an emergency meeting is underway after nearly all of pageland's police officers walked off the job. we have pictures from the council chambers. the meeting is at the arranat building where they are speaking. this after the success spended spended -- the suspended police chief was placed on november. most of his police officers say they would prefer if he did not return. michael clark is on your side explaining why. >> chesterfield county deputies have an unspec at the dash darn expected addition to their office. >> the sheriff office is patrolling the town of pageland. >> reporter: they say several town officers quit after the suspended police chief was

>> after that meeting a large percent testimonying of the pageland police department walked off the job. >> reporter: he was on leave following an investigation. the details were not released. today there are no pageland police officers on patrol of. just deputies fill in. >> we don't have a police officer to protect our children and it is ridiculous. i am concerned what is going on in pageland. >> reporter: town leaders are having a meeting to come up with a plan and how to pay for the deputy. they are working on their off county don't suffer. > have a huge county. and of course we have limited resources. >> they are walking off the force and that means there is a real problem going on in page land. >> reporter: a car -- sergeant who quit said several officers complained about a lack of leadership under brown. neighbors don't know what to think and maybe say it is time to start over. >> it is an excellent opportunity to clean the slate

start from scratch. hire new personnel and get back to business. >> protect the citizens here in pageland. get over it. >> reporter: until town leaders make a decision on what is next you will see deputy cars patrolling pageland streets. >> it is concerning. we will take care of the town until the council takes care of the problems there. >> maureen: they are meeting tonight. the town leaders could not comment on any of these issues. michael found larry brown in town and asked if he had anything to say about the officers or the investigation and he said he could not talk about it. >> maureen: outside we are looking at this wednesday night. not bad temperatures. i imagine with the lack of clouds those skies will make the temperatures dip quickly. lee brock is in the first alert weather center. >> you talk about that all the time. when the sun goes down and you

calm conditions and the low humidity it doesn't take anytime for those temperatures to fall quickly. that's what they are doing this evening. we have the clear skies and here is the sunset. just a gorgeous day. the sun officially went down at 6:20 this evening. this is what it looks like right now temperature wise. the temperatures have been cool all day long. right now we are already back in the 40s if not the 30s in some spots. 45 in charlotte and 47 in monroe and rockingham. 48 in lancaster. in the higher elevations 26 in boone and 37 in morganton. here is where we are headed. the temperatures fall from the mid40s at 7:00 to about the mid30s by 1:00 a.m. a cool overnight period and we will be close to the freezing mark by the time you wake up in the morning. close to freezing to start your day. but the end of the day, another cool day like today. rain is on the way and even senators can't be ruled out for the higher elevations. what to expect in that department in a little bit.

on about a story we broke on "primetime" last night. 7-year-old brycen mcsweeney died after midnight from his injuries after he was hit by a car here riding his bike. you may remember we were over happened. investigators say he was hit after he road his bike through a stop sign in the glen laurel area. he was not wearing a helmet. north carolina woman is fighting to have a certain birth control taken off the market c. the contraception she said stole her ability to care for her kids without medical attention. wbtv anchor molly granthom has more. >> it is like a slap in the face. i am 30 years old and two kids and i can't be the mom i want to be or the wife i want to be because i chose this. >> reporter: erika davis couldn't believe it when she heard the fda decided to keep assure on the market. >> really angry.

just released to wbtv of kylah davenport who captured our hearts after she was brutally beaten and left brain damaged by her step-father, these movies show a carefree, happy little girl. and get this. this is just three days before she was beaten. joshua howser was first charged with child abuse in the attack. the charges were later upgraded to second-degree murder when kylah's broken body gave in and she passed away on march 13th, 2014. now more with kylah's mom about life since the attack and coping without her baby girl. >> this was christmas of 2011. it was a happy morning for kylah. a happy family before an explosion of violence by joshua howser. kirby said in hindsight it was howser's lack of emotion even about the death of his

off an alarm. >> i wish somebody would have smacked me in the face and said, that's kind of odd don't you think? >> howser's charges of abuse were upgraded after kylah died. the 12 attack contributed to her death. she is serving 17 years in prison. they are so happy on her rocking horse. at 26 kirby is remarried with two kids. her husband, steve, was with her through kylah's painful last dayses. kirby struggles to look back on her baby's death, but she says she is sure kylah's life was not in vein. >> god made his decision for me. we prayed kylah would be home again. that kylah could walk again or talk again. god answered our prayer. god answered our prayers in

thinking about spring. i think everybody got that taste of temperatures in the 70s and thought summer is coming. spring is coming. >> it is time. >> maureen: it doesn't feel like it today. the temperatures did not warm up much. >> no, they didn't warm much at all. we have another taste of spring coming. when i show you temperatures in the 40s and the 30s, just think it will be about a week, and the temperatures will be warm again. just be more patient. here is your temperature in charlotte, 45 degree. 39 in statesville and 41 in albemoro and let's look outside and here is what it looks like. it is beautiful outside from your hd tower cam. clear skies and dry conditions. can't really promise it will be the same story. we do have rain moving into the picture. for now we will enjoy the dry weather. let's look at our temperatures.

friday morning. you can see some accumulations. a lot of areas are one to two inches, but the brighter areas you could see two to four inches. that's what we are looking at. >> no showers. the rest of us are seeing the rain move across the area. it could be heavy at times. for the next several hours after that, we keep the rain around and we keep the snow in the higher elevations. this is exactly why we can see some accumulation. that snow can last a couple hours. then it should be pretty much out of here by 6:00 on friday morning. most of us are drying out. a few snow shower left in the highest elevations. it looks like a decent day for your friday. here is what it looks like for the next few days. we have a 70% chance into friday morning.
