he's been working on since the 3-year-old once known as baby doe was unidentifiedp. >> she was discarded like troth. >> reporter: since relatives have been told the medical examiner is doing a second autopsy, while the baby's mother and boyfriend faced charges for bella's murder. relatives say the case is changing. her name and pictures quietly added to her great- grandmother's stone. but defilly pope feel she's needs more. >> reporter: rather than seeing her name at the bottom, you know, as an after thought on the monument, she matters. >> reporter: there are other gestures. advocates helped search for bella's identity on social media making sure she'll be enveloped. a quilt made from swatches of

and even a playground to collect donations supplied for children in dcf. >> christina hager, thank you so much. now at 6:00, boats burned, several sunk as a raging fire and firefighters raced to the scene early this morning. they were just trying to save as many boats as they possibly could, even using a drone to help them put out the flames. bell shields is live in quincy with the latest. >> reporter: the boats are all hoard closely together so if you get a fire on one boat, it will quickly jump to the others. what's amazing is no one was seriously injured. >> you can replace the boats. you can't replace the people. >> reporter: that's the good news. the bad? 11 boats damaged. 5 of them destroyed. it started about 7:30 this morning. >> so i looked over and saw the boat in flames. so i called my boyfriend and

the two of us came out to figure out what's going on. >> reporter: it likely started in the engine compartment. >> a guy started his boat up to take it out and the engine caught fire. >> reporter: because the boats are tied up so closely together, the flames jumped from one to another. >> wind wasn't too bad but it was still enough to allow it to spread and there's fiberglass and a lot of gasoline. the boats are close together. >> reporter: tamara and justin didn't just lose their boat, they lost their home. they lived on it. >> we just sold everything to do this. we moved on it to live on it. all we had left was in there. we have nothing left now. >> it's overwhelming right now. >> now we have to figure out our next move. >> reporter: people are like a big family. dana pringle didn't hesitate to offer the couple his boat to live on. >> well you've got to have a place to live. you don't have a boat.

just take my boat. that's all, just live on it. >> reporter: at the might of the fire, a drone from a brewster ambulance crew showed the extent of it. 11 boats damaged, but no lives lost. that boat where the fire started, they just toted away so maybe investigators can determine exactly what happened and there are still three other boats on the bottom here. reporting live from quincy, i'm bill shields, wbz news. paula? >> it's got to be so frustrating. a stabbing outside the park street station. police tell us a man and woman got into a fight and the man was stabbed. paramedics rushed one man to the hospital. so far no arrested. a juror admitted that he had outside information about the case. his son goes to the school where colleen ritzer was murdered. he'd already been dismissed

talking about it with other jurors. phillip chyz imis being -- adult. in. a bus slams into the back of a tractor-trailer. afternoon. the bus and tractor-trailer pinned the bus driver who later died at the hospital. 18 people traveling on that bus from boston new york have minor injuries. police are now investigating. a high-flying bus, state police find this large hall of marijuana at logan airport. according to authorities, a california man flew from san francisco to boston and when he arrived, they expected his two checked suitcases and found 100 pounds of marijuana sealed in plastic. the man is now facing drug charges. we have learned a fifth

academy was missing. the coast guard called off the search for survivors, now looking instead for the ship's data recorder to figure out what went wrong. governor baker wants to help the tens of thousands of students who right now are on waiting lists hoping to get into a carler school. the governor announced the new plan to lift the state cap on charter schools. those are public schools that are publicly funded but privately operated. the governor's plan would allow the state to add up to a dozen new or extended charter schools each year. >> we have 37,000 families who simply want for their kids what everybody else wants, and for the most part gets in the welt of massachusetts for theirs. this is a shot at a great education and an opportunity on which to build a great future.

night with an extra hour of sleep. that's well timed. and pretty cool out there. now we're at 56 degrees in boston, winds out of the southeast at 10 miles per hour. pretty cool across the region. it's that time of year where the sun is out. it feels great as soon as the sun goes down. clear skies for now, but we are going to look at changes headed into the day tomorrow. we've got a cold front moving into the great lakes. it. those will be arriving for tomorrow afternoon. we have a little more quiet time to go. temperatures falling into the 40s again this evening. frost conditions. tomorrow, the clouds start to thicken up. i think there will be sunshine, especially in the morning the first half of the day. southeastern massachusetts, you we head toward lunchtime. a few showers break out. they become more numerous. a couple of these will have lightning and thunder.

so if you have any friday night plans, expect for the quick burst of heavy rainfall. all of it moves offshore by saturday morning. the wind starts off breezy in the morning out of the south, but as we head into the afternoon, it keeps increasing and the gusts during the afternoon and evening between 20 and 45 miles per hour. so a really windy friday afternoon. that's going to make it feel less comfortable outside, even though tomorrow is looking warmer than today. we'll have highs closer to 70 degrees. even a touch of humidity in the air as you'd expect with showers working across. once we head through tomorrow, we have a great looking columbus day forecast. just the epicenter of activities. parents weekend at a lot of colleges. taking a look at 50s for saturday to start things. so a chilly start with the mid- 60s. we're back into the 70s by columbus day monday. so depending on, pick your poison.
