we'll take you out through the holiday weekend. coming up, it looks fantastic. i'll have the details in a few. chris? let's check the roads out there at 5:00 this morning, danielle. it looks nice, aside from work crews just packing up a little late here. so you'll want to use extra caution if you are not out early. not a lot of cars out on the roads at all. this is columbus day weekend and friday afternoon is usually a bad one to drive. so if you can hit the road early, you'll want to do that. uber is facing a federal lawsuit this morning. >> two women, including one in boston, say they were sexually assaulted by uber drivers. nicole jacobs has a closer look at this lawsuit. nicole? >> reporter: chris, kathryn, outside of what many who consider the convenience of uber there is a lot of controversy surrounding it. now the company faces a lawsuit where it claims neglect and

fraud when it comes to the say thety of young women. two women, one right here in boston say that they were sexually assaulted by uber drivers. the other alleged victim is out of south carolina. they are named jane doe 1 and jane doe 2 in the suit. they say the company falsely advertises safety, but instead solicit young women that have been drinking. in february, jane doe number 1 said a boston uber driver assaulted her. she and three friends were picked up in the north end. jane doe number 1 was the last in the carp that's when she says the driver indecently touched her several times. a 36-year-old man was arrested and charged in that case. an attorney for the two alleged victims released a statement reading, "the lawsuit is seeking to hold uber accountable for what we believe to be a focus on profits over

uber's lawsuit reads in part "the time to share information and aced a investigations, and both drivers have been perm innocently removed from the platform." this is in the midst of uber coming under fire for what many checks. i should say that according to an uber spokesperson, this boston uber driver did undergo two background checks, which we're told he passed. in boston, nicole jacobs, wbz this morning. it's 5:04. two fantasy sports sites are facing a class action lawsuit. >> the legal action comes just days after boston-based draftkings and rivalling site fan duel were accused of insider trading. good morning, susie. >> reporter: good morning, kathryn and chris. we're back at draftkings headquarters for the second time this week just as the company tries to win back the public's trust, a fan files a

the company of fraud, negligence, and false advertising. if you are unfamiliar with draftkings and its rival site fab duel, this is a way for fans to play fantasy sports and win money on a weekly basis rather than playing through the entire season as other sites traditionally have done. earlier this week, we did learn that draftkings employees had won $35,000 of playing on rival site fan duel. that raised a lot of eyebrows and forced the new york attorney general to launch an investigation. maura healey has been listening in on this since that came out. yesterday, a fan in kentucky filed a class action lawsuit claiming that draftkings employees have already made $6 million by unfairly using inside information. >> i think that those who play want to be and expect to be

least one vigil for the victim. he had already been dismissed from the case but was still talking about it to other jurors. now he could face charges. a worcester school bus driver off the job after a crash last month that was caught on camera. takes a turn. into parked cars. then you can see that she goes flying out of her seat. police say the video clearly shows that she didn't buckle her seat belt. she's been cited, lost both her commercial and personal driver's licenses. there were no children on the bus at the time. it is 5:07 right now. ape war of words in brookline. parents and students lining up at a school meeting to save one of the teachers' jobs. bree? >> reporter: the middle schoolteacher was taken off the job after he was heard swearing.

students filed in to the brookline school committee meeting to explain why teacher larry chen should get a second chance. chen received a notice of termination from the outgoing superintendent after he used the grown-up version of b.s. in the presence of students after school. the movement to save chen has become a teachable moment. >> mr. chen teaching the civil rights movement, and this feels like it on a smaller scale but something similarly. >> reporter: a final decision hasn't been made yet. students will get another chance to make their case at a meeting next week. the navy will now take over efforts to find the cargo ship that sank in hurricane joaquin. the el faro disappeared near the bahamas last week. investigators hope to recover the data recorder to determine why it went down. earlier this week, the coast guard suspended efforts to find survivors, including eight with ties to new england.

but across the board. the wind will gradually subside once it passes through. the wind does drag in mild air today. look at the temperatures. we come into the upper 60s and lower 70s. tomorrow, about 10 to 15 degrees cooler. these are the highs for saturday. lower 60s for metro west. then we get a warming trend. so sunday, it is a mix of sun and clouds. look at this, highs 65 to 70. for columbus day, we hit low 70s at the coastline, middle 70s across the interior with plenty of sunshine and a couple of late day clouds. it's looking like an awesome weekend overall. a little something for everybody. the cool, crisp fall air tomorrow and a warming trend tuesday, actually monday night. a few of those linger into tuesday and the leading edge of relatively cooler airthat will come in for wednesday and thursday with temperatures back in the mid-60s. let's get a check of the

sites are facing a class action lawsuit. a ken condition man allegations employees of boston-based draftkings and fan duel had an insider advantage when playing on each other's sites. the lawsuit says draftkings employees won at least $6 million playing on fan duel. fan duel did not have a comment. draftkings did not get back to us. a second child who contracted e. coli from a fair is fighting for his life. his father says he's sufficienting life-threatening kidney failure. the 17-month-old is receiving dialysis. 20-month-old colleton died on monday. investigators think both boys came in contact with the bacteria at the oxford fair petting zoo. the anti-vaccination trend could be putting one in eight kids at risk for the measles, according to a new study by emory university.

researchers say the u.s. could be on the verge of an outbreak. bree is here with a closer look on what that means. >> reporter: the study out says families who tend not to vaccinate their kids tend to cluster in the same community. that makes for a stronger outbreak if it comes into that community. a now discredited study links vaccines to autism fueling an anti-vaccination campaign. the emory university report says children, especially those under the age of 3 are most at risk. a measles outbreak in disneyland, california sickened 125 people and parts of the baystate are also in need of more vaccines. >> we're lucky to live many massachusetts where vaccination rates are yenly high.

we will be dry, no problems. it's towards the end of school that we may see a couple of showers mainly north and west of boston. notice temperatures, too, come up near 70 degrees later on today. 40s andoos out the door. 55 in boston. 44 in lawrence. lower 40s nashua and keene. low to mid-50s from the south shore back down to the cape. satellite radar shows clouds that have moved in overnight and early this morning, but there will be sunshine poking through from time to time this morning before the rain arrives. the rain is already coming into parts of vermont. most of that will miss us to the north and west. it's the next line of showers and downpours that is an extension of this area of rain that will move in from west to east later on today. so let's time things out between now and late morning. a couple of showers possible in the monadnock region. most of us, though, will be dry through the early afternoon.
