the temperature is about 64 and the dewpoints declining as well. saw brisk winds overnight and tomorrow morning. up around 60 tomorrow. bounce back up to 68 on sunday and how about can you take 76 on columbus day? i think we'll enjoy that nice weather through the entire weekend. i'll see you in a few minutes. the search is on for a bear in newton. residents alerted police after spotting the animal nap nothing the neighborhood near rose street. at one point, police thought they had it cornered, but the bear got away. >> at this point, the bear is somewhere in the [ indiscernible ] area. the city sent out a robocall to area residents advising them to stay inside. if you have motion detector lights, please put them on.

auburndale area, alert police right away. the arrests coming nearly a month after a marshfield man was found dead inside his home. >> we are learning more about how police tracked down those two suspects. jim. >> reporter: this was a case that shocked and horrified everybody here in marshfield and throughout the south shore. now there are a total of three people under arrest. marshfield police also tell me they might not be finished yet. >> we said it and we meant it. we told them we were coming for them and we did. >> reporter: an emotional marshfield police chief after two more arrests in a vicious murder in its town. back in mid-september, the body of 45 year old robert mckenna was found in his home on a quiet wooded street. he'd been robbed and brutally killed. when police arrested 40 year old james persian gulf late

looking for at least two other suspects. now they have them. 32 year old michael moscaritolo and his girlfriend, 31 year old lauren kalil. moscaritolo is charged with murder. cal kalil charged with helping hide evidence. >> moscaritolo and james ferguson have ruined a lot of people's lives and now they've officially ruined their own. >> reporter: police also recovered 5 guns stolen from the victim's house, including 47. investigators are possibly seeking even more suspects. >> we're not done yet. it is our belief that there may be person or persons that are still out there. and that person should understand also that we're not done welcoming. >> reporter: tonight's arrests are the result of determined police work and a key tip that led investigators in the right

direction. the suspects moscaritolo and kalil will be held over the long holiday weekend. they're due in court on tuesday. there is justice for the family of a south boston grandmother who was murdered inside her home. timothy koska beat and stabbed barbara coin in 2012. their families knew each other. koska faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison. federal authorities say they stopped a murder plot with days to spare. 51 year old joseph burke allegedly told an undercover fbi agent that he was looking for work as a hitman. the agent learned burke was looking to kill a man in manhattan next week. it was absolute chaos in framingham. an suv plowing into a crowd at

an auto auction. an elderly driver was behind the wheel. katy. >> reporter: david, after what happened at this auction house, the driver did not return home tonight. his wife was also hospitalized. she was in the car in front of him. 8 people looking to buy vehicles were hit. chaos inside a car auction. aneld early man driving a b.m.w. suv hit 8 bystanders before slamming through a wall. cell phone video shows people scrambling to help one of the victims pinned under a vehicle. >> they pulled the car a little bit up and pulled the guy out -- underneath the car. >> reporter: larry was one of those injured. >> i don't know if people hit me, a car, all of it happened soviet union. i think maybe one of the cars clipped me or a person got in the way.

>> reporter: about 1,000 people were inside the auction facility in framingham in the morning. 78 year old herbert sunshine suv. >> it looked like he was unconscious right after. it seemed like he was confused, he hit the gas on accident instead of hitting the break. miles per hour. >> reporter: proulx was able to get out of the building. >> i got outside checking to see what really happened to me. fortunately i think i'll be fine. i just got a little bruised up, banged up. >> reporter: police say none of the injuries are life threatening. they have not pressed charges. tonight president obama comforted the families of the victims killed on an oregon college campus last week but gun rights activists were there to greet him when he arrived.

they were carrying signs and guns. president obama met privately with the families of the 8 student and it is teacher killed last week at umpqua community college. >> we're going to have to come together as a country to see how we can prevent these issues from taking place. but today, it's about the families. their grief and the love we feel for them and they certainly do appreciate all the support they've received. >> the campus has been open this week, but classes at the college will resume on monday. while the president was heading to oregon, police were busy investigating two deadly campus shootings today. one person was killed, another wounded at texas southern university. and at northern arizona university, an 18 year old student is facing murder charges for shooting another student in a parking lot near a dorm.

all three members were members of a fraternity. 47, that's how many shootings there have been at universities in the u.s. so far this year. a social worker from wakefield is locked up tonight. police started investigating 34 year old rick hall in august when they say he started communicating inappropriately with three 15 year old girls out of state. hall owns north shore recovery management in reading. every school in newton is going to get an emergency inspection to check for carbon monoxide. two workers were overcome by fumes today. they will be okay, but classes at franklin were canceled. after that story we showed you in framingham, some people are asking should you lose your license after a certain age. >> plus asleep on the job, the picture getting one police officer in a whole lot of trouble. >> it looks like we have a

of crashes involvingeld early drivers people are asking should massachusetts change its rules? >> reporter: today's horror show in framingham is an all too familiar sight. miraculously, this detour into a real estate office this summer caused no injuries. but two people were injured in may. >> there's a lot of carnage. probably one of the worst i've seen in a while. >> reporter: this has been going on for years all over the country. federal statistics show drivers over age 65 account for close to 20% of all traffic fatalities and the numbers have been rising. as the baby boomers age, it's expected men and women will outlive their driving skills by 6 to 10 years.

so just a chill come nothing for tomorrow. the sun should make it feel okay, but not as warm as today. they're in the 40s off to the north and west. that means real dry air is going to be fall nothing here overnight. we're going to have dewpoints in the 40s tomorrow. some thunderstorms on the south coast. a little bit of damage in a few communities, but that's about it. the clearing has moved intoon and will hit southeastern massachusetts short least we'll have a brisk breeze in the morning and the afternoon should have less wind. sunday will be a nice day as well. a little -- mostly patchy mid and high level type clouds. the southwest breeze will start kicking in on sunday. it will become rather brisk at 15 to 20 miles per hour.

in the upper 50s, even lower 50s to 40s across the mountains tomorrow. the leaves are popping in places and actually it's better news this year because the foliage is a little bit later than usual. columbus day, people go up north to the mountains. there's been a lot of leaf drop, but not so this time. it is muted in spots so you'll find variable color. areas of beautiful color and areas which aren't so nice. it's becoming more expansive at least, the more vibrant color. i've noticed it around here in the last few days. this from joe. here we go for warm weather, going up to 68 on sunday afternoon for your high and about 8 [ indiscernible ] that. you get 76 on monday. 72 on tuesday when there could be a couple of spotty showers. next weekend.
