we have a few left over clouds in the cape and that's about it. we're in for a lot of sunshine today. the lower 40s this morning for rush hour. no weather-related problems. the kids at the bus stop, long sleeves, a light jacket. 59 degrees by lunchtime though, mostly sunny. the wind from the west, southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour today and we should top out in the lower 60, upper 50s for the ride home. we have cooler air on the way. you know it's going to come in for the weekend. we'll time out showers

on the way for tomorrow coming up. >> thank you very much. a computer system that checks passenger's names a -- against the terror watch list back up this morning. >> the system was down for about 90 minutes forcing passengers to wait in long lines while customs manually processed international passengers. we caught up with some travelers at logan after the long delay. >> they said there was a nationwide computer glitch. >> how did you get through? >> they finally let everyone fill out a form and get through. >> custom's officials tell us there was never any security threat and they don't believe the out age was from any malicious intent. popular fantasy sports websites are now getting the attention of the fbi and justice department. the investigation that just got underway, bree is here with information.

justice department want to know if draft kings broke the law. the wall street journal reports agents from the boston office are talking to prominent players about their experience on the site, specifically if the site accepted money from states and countries where the game is prohibited. they are under scrutiny with three pending class action lawsuits about questions on insider trading. the new york attorney general asked for details on how the sites prevent proud. a man who works at draft king won $350,000 on fan dual. draft king denies he had an advantage. the agents interviewed with the fbi office in boston said they were interested in draft king.

was reports that they informed players how to play and deposit funds in states where it was illegal. a southbridge teacher will spend his 22nd birthday in court this morning. he's accused of sending obscene pictures to a student. the school district immediately fired him. katy brace tried to get answers from that teacher. >> 21-year-old joseph zuniga's mom threw a sweatshirt over his head. >> police say he sent naked photos of himself to a 17-year-old student at southbridge high. >> you shouldn't do that if you work here. >> last fall when he was a substitute teacher he sent them and then in august. a school resource officer heard rumors of the photos.

wbz this morning. a former youth hockey coach is due in court today accused of sexual assaulting a young player back in the 90s. 61-year-old robert richardson began assaulting the boy in 1991 when he was just 13 years old. the victim told police last year and richardson was indicted last month. in 2005 he was acquitted on similar charges involving another boy whom he met while running a camp at boston university. 4:36 right now. this morning things are back to normal in medfield but it took crews late into the night to fixture this ruptured gas main. this video from sky eye showing the big crater left behind after work crews hit a south on south street around phillips. neighbors said they first heard a loud hissing noise and then a

attacks. kerry hopes to meet with leaders from both sides. republican presidential candidate donald trump is taking aim at bernie sanders. at a rally in virginia he called sanders a maniac who was pushing hilary clinton further to the left. trump said bernie sanders is more like a communist. big ratings for the first democratic debate. more than 15 people watched cnn for this. it's the biggest tv audience ever for a democratic debate. another million people streamed it online. in comparison last month's gop debate had more than 23 million viewers. a late night for bruins fans and if you missed the game good news for you. they took on colorado. a nice game. jimmy hayes, his first goal right there. boston puts the b's up 2-0. hayes had three assists as well.

loss of $20 billion in market value. in the latest earnings wal-mart predicted the sales will fall next year taking a big hit from online retailers. wal-mart is paying workers more money. that's eating at the bottom line. the profits are soaring for delta. lower fuel prices saved the airline a billion dollars in the past quarter. a new auto pilot system from tesla looks like it's a game changer. actually, a lane changer. the cars will be able to change lanes by themselves using cameras and sensors. analysts say that's an industry first. drivers will still need to keep their hands on the steering wheel. danny myers restaurant group is getting rid of tipping. instead they will be raising menu prices from 20 to 35% to boost base pay

for making snow and they may actually see a little bit of natural snow as we head into the weekend too. we're getting to that time of the year. here's the 24-hour temperature change. it shows that it's noticeably cooler, 10 to 20 degrees cooler than yesterday. 50 in boston, 39 worcester. lower 40s here through the valley. 36 in taunton and 35 in norwood. 30s to 40s on the cape where we were in the lower 60s yesterday. it is going to be a beautiful fall day today featuring a lot of sunshine, dry weather, no issues for either commute. notice a little bit of snow showing up on the radar. it's a sign of the colder air and changes. some rain and snow showers with a warm front that will lift to the north. low 60s for us is average this time of the year.

a shower in the morning, not a big deal, but it may impact your morning commute and then an isolated risk of a shower later on in the day. the sun does break out for friday. any showers that do come through will be brief. high temperatures should be in the mid 60s before they fall into the 50s during the evening. a big area of low pressure is going to move over northern new england this weekend. rain and snow showers in the mountains on saturday. for us some scattered in the mid 50s. behind it a gusty northwest wind on sunday will bring in that chilly air mass and that's when we're talking about high temperatures not getting out of the upper 40s on sunday afternoon. so today's highs about 61 in boston, same in rockport, lower 60s plymouth, lower 60s for metro west. over

night tonight similar to this morning, 50 in boston, 40s in the suburbs. tomorrow low to mid 60s for highs, the chance of a shower in the morning and then breaks of sunshine do come out. the 7 day, mid 50s on saturday, dry on sunday but windy and cold. hard for the rowers. freezing on monday morning. could be talking about the end of the growing season for many communities with temperatures around 32 degrees. those faces over there when i said freezing temperatures. >> thank you very much, danielle. local elementary school nurses are learning techniques meant for the battlefield. >> with the frightening reality of school shootings it could change lines. a local surgeon is behind that effort. >> for these elementary school

king s d -- for draft kings. agents from the boston fbi are talking to players about their experiences on the site. draft kings and another fantasy site fan dual are under the microscope for questions of insider trading. a competency hearing will continue this morning for the teenager accused of killing his teacher. phillip chism is closed of killing colleen ritser in 2013. he said he was hearing voices. he refused to enter the courtroom. this morning governor baker will unveil a new bail becamed at addressing the opiate cries. he appointed a task force to come up with strategies. the senate passed its own bill that calls for screening of public school students and encourages doctors to consider alternatives.

a local police department is taking to social media to taunt a couple of marijuana growers. officers in dan bury, new hampshire posted this picture of dug up marijuana plants that said, to their owner, if that person would like to talk to someone about the loss of their summer horticulture project give the department a call. big dig may be over but big leaks are running off the tab. more than 16 million gallons of water were pumped out of the tip o'neil tunnel, ted williams tunnel and i-90 connecter in 2013 and 2014. the tunnels have already pumped out that much water this year alone. mass dot is spending between $5 and $7 million to fix those leaks.

commuter rail trains ran on time this september, the best performance since 2006. the company that runs the commuter rail said falling leaves will force the trains to slow down. a big spinnish recall. it may be contaminated with salmonella. it had an enjoy by date of october 15th and a upc code ending with 976. so far there are no reports of anyone gets sick. we have more details on that recall on our website, cbsboston.com. coming up, a local student setting a world record. >> the harvard senior literally on the ball.
