12:31 am
right here as it will be a nice showdown. the patriots victorious tonight. lets go right back out to steve standing by with a special ideal guest. >> thank -- special guest. >> thank you very much. we are talking about the play the guy snapped the ball on. is that something you have never seen before? >> in a way i -- we prepare for a lot of stuff in this league but that is not usual. it was a good job by the guys on the field. sometimes you see a play like that but it is a different type of punt formation. we were ready for it. >> and then your teammate blocking the kick. how special? >> he is a special athlete. it was good to see him do that. now teams will be aware. he could probably do that with guys standing up.
12:32 am
[ laughter ] >> that is how athletic he is. day. it was tbt blow out everybody wanted back -- wasn't the blow out everybody wanted back home but you will take it. >> it was a tough game. we are used to that. you have to come out and try play for 60 minutes. win tonight. >> how relieved is brady to have >> i don't know. i think we have been the same way all year. you have to ask him but i think our focus was just coming in and getting a win and moving on next week. >> when the colts got the ball to open up the game, they drove down the field to score. you were able to make adjustments. how did you do that? >> big games like this -- sunday night football, you come out and
12:33 am
i thought we settled down and just executed our game plan. some minor changes here and there but it is not often you flip your whole game plan around. >> a couple of those receivers were tough cover weren't they? >> yeah. it is a tough league. you are not going to go in there and blow everyone out. they have a tough football team. when you get them here, you have to be ready to run and keep up with their guys. >> you guys got banged up a lot tonight. you got a lot of guys down with injuries. you have to get healthy in a here but this was a hard fought battle tonight. >> it is key. sometimes injuries happen on sunday. you just wait and see what happens. hopefully we get back as many guys as possible.
12:34 am
>> were you pleased with the offensive line? you patch up the offensive line and brady was still able to make plays down field. >> yeah, i am just the fan watching when those guys are out there. they do a great job week in and week out. for us it is all about trying to get them the ball back. it is all about the next guy stepping up when guys go out. we have a good understanding of our game plan and executing it. >> were you surprise? >> we don't worry about that. it is all about keep playing. sometimes they make a play and you have to live with and it be ready to go. >> all right. i will let you go. it snowed in parts of boston. >> oh wow.
12:35 am
we will go to break now and be right back after this. who's toughest on spending? fox news did the analysis and jeb bush had the best record. billions in pork, vetoed. eight budgets, balanced. and tax cuts every single year. right to rise usa

12:37 am
who has the plan for jobs? jeb. middle class. eliminates special loopholes. an explosion in growth and new jobs. jeb: cut taxes. grow america. right to rise usa content of this message. here is our drive of the game. it started with the fourth and three. the colts fake punt, turn the ball over and that was really the demise of the colts from there followed by the patriots play. 11-yard touchdown pass. 34-27 victory for the patriots
12:38 am
as they improve to 5-0 on the season. the patriots get a big win. story of the game, that fake punt. whatever you want to call it, the brain freeze, however you want to look a at it, lets listen to what head coach chuck pagano had to say about that. >> the punt play -- um, i take responsibility. the whole idea there was -- on the fourth and three or less -- shift to alignment to where -- you either catch them miss aligned -- you know they try to sub some people in, catch them with more men on the field. if you get a certain look -- you got three yards, two yards, you make a play but again we shifted. they shifted over and i didn't do a good enough job of coaching it during the week.
12:39 am
a communication break down between quarterback and the snapper and that is all on me. i take full responsibility on that. i didn't do a good enough job of getting that come mown kated to the guys -- communicated to the guys. >> what is your reaction to that? >> at least he is taking accountability for it but that is not his fault. they practiced this play for months -- maybe years and they got out to execute it and they can't even line up correctly. watch them. you need seven men online. look at the tail end. they are both off. the play doesn't matter that they snap the ball or not. to me that would drive me insane
12:40 am
work on it and if you have the numbers you run the play. the numbers about out there, the rule says to bring it back. what you don't do is snap the ball and now you give the patriots the ball back with a short field. >> if you don't like what you seeing -- if you are pagano around you yelling time out? >> you running out on the field naked to try get them stopment . -- stop. 90% of the coaches would know that. he is taking the blame for his players and he shouldn't. you can't not lineup correctly that to me is pathetic football. that is why you can -- are the colts and we are the patriots. >> as a player, if you see, that what goes there your mind? >> it -- what is going through
12:41 am
my mind if i am on that team -- we need to do everything right. we need do to everything -- play a perfect clean game in order to beat this team because they are good. it starts off right. everything is going well for you. you attempt an on-site quick which i liked, you didn't get ball but that is fine. at least you show the patriots that they need to be on their toes. you sending them a message that this isn't going to be easy for you. the game is close. even at halftime -- they were hands. they come out and just lay an egg. it was a good idea in they poorly executed. time.
12:42 am
amendola called off. they wait for the afc championship game. -- i'm sorry the play off game and they run it in the right time. that is the big thing, right? you have it, don't just use it, use it at the right time. >> it just -- it's pathetic. >> you seem excited. >> i'm up now. [ laughter ] >> we will take break. you just heard from pagano on what happened in this patriots win over the colts. you will hear from quarterback andrew luck when we return. stay with us. thank you for joining us. the patriots win it 34-27. we move on. our poll question, do you fear the most, jets, dolphins, broncos? log on right now and vote.

12:45 am
do you feel you -- [ indiscernible ] >> with all due respect of the team, i think there is creative things every week for every team that you do. i think it -- it takes us playing better football at the mistakes. i don't think anybody beyond that. it is a darn good football team and this is taking nothing away from that squad. they are very good. >> [ indiscernible ] >> every loss is hard. every loss stinks. it is week six, we are moving onto next weekend. we have to as a team. we have to put ourselves back up and get a win. >> all right. so there you go the thoughts of andrew lucks. next up the jets. tough one, 1:00 next sunday
12:46 am
christian, your part of everything and what we do here, this team -- you said it to me during one of the breaks, this team has gone through a lot of time. lets take look at some of the things that unfolded in this one. not a good sign as vollmer switched over. >> i would say it looks like an ankle so he leaves the game. cameron comes off the practice squad, he played well there. right off the bat you are thinking there is trouble because of this. you are worried about the offensive line. michael in there. they did a lot of times where they kept a back end or kept a presence in there or they weren't going to run.
12:47 am
>> you have to face a jets defensive line that will be the tough challenge for you here next sunday. >> it will get harder a cause now -- i'm the jets, i know what you are going to do. that is just the offensive line. you are talk about slater, sheard, high tower was already out. am i missing somebody? i feel like i am missing somebody. >> edelman and his finger. he was aiken by cart tough field and through the -- taken by cart off the field and through the tunnel. they said it was a left knee. that is not good. >> this will happen to any team. any team in the nfl have l -- will have a stretch where they get hit by the injury bug. the preseason becomes so important. you go what is the value of us even watching this.
12:48 am
these guys can play. you already had issues at corner with brown going down. >> you see guys stepping up chlt . -- up. and then edelman's finger. this looks like it became an issue on that interception. how concerned are you about a guy like this? >> he uses his hands. he usually doesn't allow the ball to hit his body. you can tell -- you drop one ball, all right. next one they throw you want to make sure you catch it. the next one they throw him, he bobbles that one too. this right here -- you will see a young corn before you --down corn before you sew a play like this. that gets in your head. i don't care how good you are or how many touchdowns you have
12:49 am
head, you couldn't undermine me a football. >> it always comes back to that. >> yeah. i heard you started. >> [ laughter ] which may be pagano heard for the reason why he called that fake punt formation circle of life right? [ laughter ] >> did you see him on the sideline like this? >> [ laughter ] >> please work. call time out somebody. we will take a break here. 34-27. the patriots get a win. it wasn't pretty but a good game to watch.

12:53 am
he retired and had a transition. i think the fact they were prepared for that -- on one side you can say what are they even thinking about here. on the other, they still have to make the play. i think you still have to give some credit to the patriots. >> we will hear from rob gronkowski. >> we had a lot of people filling in. they did a good job. line. tom. we did a great job running the >> cool. >> i will do one more. and then i got to go. >> [ indiscernible ] >> i mean it just is what it is. when -- when my number is called i just have to make the play.
12:54 am
to go out there and do the job. >> what can you say about tom? >> he did great. lot of mental toughness and we just went out as a team and performed very well. >> he came alive in the second. >> he did. 60 career touchdowns for him overall. the fastest tight end to hit that mark in 70 career games. only five tight ends in the history of the nfl have reached that mark. he said in the first half they played a little more zone coverage with three man rush. in the second half they go more man-to-man coverage and that opened somethings up for gronkowski. it was almost like a carbon copy of the game last week in dallas. you see what a different he
