were on the run reporter: catherine greig gave an emphatic not guilty plea in response to the new charge. prosecutors say she's stayed silent. catherine greig was back in federal court this time accused of disobeying a judge's orders to spill secrets about whitey bulger. she's already serving an # year prison sentence for helping bulger elude federal authorities. the couple was on the run for 16 years. bulger a fixture on the fbi's most wanted list. the search finally ended in 2011 at an apartment in an take monica california where investigators found a stash of guns cash and fake i.d.s. now federal authorities want to know who else helped the fugitive stay off the radar for so long. the long time girlfriend has repeatedly refused to testify before a grand jury. >> she's not cooperating answering questions from the government.

that's it. it's not a matter that she has anything to hide. reporter: her attorney calls the new criminal charge and threat of more prison time an overreach by the government. >> she'll be serving more time than some of the people take killed people served in this case which i think really is a factor that's pretty sad and upsetting. reporter: trying telling that to family members of murder victims. >> feelings haven't changed. reporter: steven davis whose sister was killed in 1981. doesn't understand the loyalty to bulger. >> there's a price on everything. she must have got paid a lot of money to keep her mouth shut. reporter: she will be back in court in november. she's looking forward to taking this to trial. also tonight convicted sex offender jason fleury will remain in jail. his lawyer withdrew a motion for bail.

he's accused of murdering 25- year-old jaimee mendez. she vanished last november. two months later her body washed a store on kings beach. all new tonight at 5:00 lawyers for carlos ortiz a friend of aaron hernandez wants his murder charge to be dismissed. prosecutors say ortiz was with hernandez the night odin lloyd was killed. ortiz' lawyers say they vice- president shown any evidence that he helped plan or carry out the murder. people were actually cheering in court as the judge released a mother who set off an amber alert. she's out on became. and her family says she just wanted to get her baby boy the best medical care possible. paul burton is live at boston children's hospital. that baby is being treated right now. reporter: i can tell you right now that he's expected to be okay.

care facility. a nurse brand told her her son needed trauma care. she drove five hours to boston. >> the amber alert to be putt out against her was totally unfair. >> the doctor said the child was in quote good standing, did know suffer any trauma but did need to be admitted for blood work. >> word out of pennsylvania the child was deemed to be severely dehydrated. reporter: tiffany has a criminal record she left the courtroom without saying a word. >> her consequences have been paid for. so we would like to see her be able to get her children back, move from pennsylvania to boston because that's what she wants to do come back home. reporter: both of tiffany's children's are under dcf custody i at this time. the child is doing well at boston's children's hospital and is expected to be okay. she is supposed to return to pennsylvania and answer to charges there. paul burton wbz news. paul thank you.

tonight we now know the two people killed in this fire in chicopee were actually a mother and son. investigators tried to figure out what sparked the fire. firefighters say by the time they arrived on sunday the home on montcalm street was engulfed in flames. three people in the home were able to escape. taking the air out of the colts the patriots beat indianapolis in plays like this. brady to gronk with the touchdown helped seal the deal. it was the first paths colts matchup since the birth of deflategate but tonight the colts may be feeling deflate nateed by the game and by the play some people consider the worst in history. do you ever live this one down? reporter: the absence is no. s after that play the colts pretty much heed the pate rots to win. the worst play in the history in just a second.

this is the rollercoaster right we always go on. we're talking lows in the teens. norwood we woke up to 17 degrees this morning taunton 20. pittsburgh 21 and bedford 23 degrees. this is like the heart of wintertime cold. it's been a chilly day too. the high temperature in boston is 48 degrees. this is average for the end of november. it was close to a record low cold maximum temperature of 45 degrees. we didn't quite get there. we bumped up by a few degrees but this is the cold every reading since april 9th. lower 40s right now currently in worcester. 42 degrees. 47 in mash way. same in taunton. lower 40s on the cape. we may drop off through the evening hours. clouds on the increase as well. low 40s will do it in boston. not nearly as cold. we'll actually start to rise again as we head towards dawn tomorrow. meantime nice but chilly quiet

and there are some clouds rain and snow showers over the border and eastern canada. this is a front that's going to dip southward so the clouds will increase this evening notice by 10:00 p.m. mostly cloudy skies eastern massachusetts over the border as well. rain and snow showers for our friends here in northern new england particularly in the mountains of maine picking up snow this evening and tonight. tomorrow morning starting with clouds there may be a sprinkle or two. i can't rule out a passing shower during the day tomorrow. but i do think a lot of our tuesday will be spent dry. a southwest breeze typically a warmer wind direction we come into the mid-60s tomorrow but that front just kind of hangs out on wednesday. what it does too is turn the wind direction around. so on wednesday we get stubborn clouds at the coast onshore wind. temperatures will be coolest at the coastline in the upper 50s to around 60 inland. stray shower or two but very little rainfall this week. thursday we go 65 to 70 and then there could be a couple of late day showers that move in

by thursday evening. so overnight tonight upper 30s. how's that sound. a little better in the suburbs as opposed to the teens. 40s for a lot of us here. for boston as well. for school tomorrow for the jacket. sunrise coming up at 7:03 limited sunshine in the afternoon but 62 degrees by the end of school. and most of us top out in the mid-60s tomorrow. actually not a bad day. there will be a lot of clouds around. or sprinkle. couple of showers again on wednesday and then during the evening hours on thursday we cool back down but turn bright to end the week. mid 50s on friday. looks good on saturday. couple of showers by the time we get to sunday cool us back to the start of next week. >> today was too cold i'm glad we're bouncing back. boston common where an underway.
