5:30. harvard university police are assault. a woman says earlier this morning she was out walking her dog when a man followed her to inside. the woman did not debt hurt. >> also tonight, parents and kids in randolph are on alert. a girl said that a man tried to abduct her as she was getting off the school bus. the 11-year-old was not hurt and able to run away. hurricane pa trace yak the strongest hurricane ever in the western hemisphere. it is about to hit southwestern mexico. this monster category 5 storm is expected to devastate the port. now at 5:30, a youth football season nearly sabotaged. police blamed an angry ex-coach who hacked into the league. the hanover league kicked him out after a fight. >> police say he was so angry, he hacked into the league's computer system and tried to put the season in jeopardy.

>> reporter: the hanover seventh and eighth grade football team in action. the season almost didn't happen. league officials say it was because of this man, one of the coaches. last year, officials say a youth football game had to be stopped when he nearly got into a fight with another coach. both men were suspended. people in this quiet town thought that was the end of it until this past september when the night before the all- important season weigh in for all of the teams, someone deleted every name from the hanover league's computers. >> it was 117 names that we could possibly potentially be fined for each individual instance for not having the rosters correct. >> reporter: police allegedly traced the cyberattack back to lordwell's home computer. it has split the town. >> success is all about relationships.

here that need to heal and be repaired for the betterment of the community. >> reporter: deleting every kid's name jeopardized the entire season for 117 kids. >> this is just not a fair way to do things because ultimately it is about the kids. that's what saddens me most about the incident. >> jim was not available for comment today and no charges have been filed. that will likely happen next felony cybercrimes. wbz news. attorneys in the aaron hernandez case just questioned the person who raised concerns about a juror in the case. the former patriots star was at today's hearing which by the way, was closed for the public. the tipster claims that she worked with the juror of the trial who said she knew hernandez was also charged with a double murder in boston. that subject was off limits lloyd's murder. prosecutors say the tipster is not reliable.

the judge will have to decide if the woman and her story are credible enough. the pumpkin festival was dead on the vine after trouble last year in keene, but it has found a new home 90 minutes north. preparations are under way to line the town with carved pumpkins. keene decided not to give them a license after last year's riot near keene state college. people set fires, overturned cars, and dozens were arrested. officials in laconia promise a different scene this year. positive name. we're well prepared for anything that's going to happen, and what happened in here. >> the festival holds the record for the most lightest pumpkins is one place. this year, trying to set a new record with more than 30,000

pumpkinsp. a developing story right now in texas. they are bracing there for up to a foot of rain over the next few days. overnight, some areas saw 4 inches of rain in one hour. that submerged cars and left drivers stranded. and the remnants of hurricane patricia could cause even more problems over the next several daysp. we're all hoping we won't see a repeat of last year's record snowfall, but even if we do, we won't see the monster snow piles. that's because boston said it will not build megapiles like they did last year. instead, the plan is to spread out the snow on land, in charlestown, dorr chester and hyde park. the 75 foot snow pile in southie didn't melt fully until july. another holdover from last winter are the bad memories of severe service breakdowns on the mbta. the new t general manager,

so on the bz feed tonight, fans are flipping out over adele's video for the new single "hello." >> the song is incredible and now there's a lot of talk about the flip phone she uses just seconds into the video. you see her talking on the flip again and bam, snapping it shut. it lit up the twitter verse. a real class act. students at a north attleboro elementary school showing their patriots pride and really making a difference. today those kids dressed up in their pats gear for the monthly spirit day. >> they are supporting a great cause here. paul burton shows us, joe andruzzi himself came to the school to say thanks. [chanting ] >> reporter: students in north hanover took a break from their

gym and down the hallways for a different type of fun as they welcomed former new england patriots lineman joe andruzzi. >> i was stricken with cancer. i was forced to retire, and instead of battling on the football field, i was battling for my life in the hospital. >> reporter: today they launched a new program donating money and supporting charities to make a difference. >> all of you brought in a dollar to help raise money for mr. andrew andrewsy's charity. >> you are paying it forward. >> both of my grandmothers had cancer. one survived and the other passed away. so i am so happy we gave to this upbeat cancer fund. >> joe andruzzi means so much to the student and staff. for one particular student, having joe here really hits home.

the whole video takes 30 seconds but in real life it's 200 milliseconds. you can see the bolts in action and how they form and creep across the sky. i thought it was cool. we passed it along to you tonight. a little cool and quiet out there, which is nice on a friday evening. looking at temperatures that are starting to settle back into the 40s across much of the area. 50s in downtown boston. pretty cool all across the region. 45 in orange. bennington's already down to 42 degrees. we've had a lot of variety over the temperature department with the warm days, humid weather and crisp, cool, fall air. today fell in the latter category. our weather-maker is this system across the midwest. it will just bring a few rain drops otherwise it will be a nice couple of days to be out and about. there will be a chill in the air by tomorrow morning. shelter valleys will likely see the upper 20s by the start of the day. we'll also be watching a weak onshore flow. tonight and even into the day

tomorrow many coastal areas will see clouds failing the sun shane at times. as we head into the afternoon and evening, more clouds move into the west. that's ahead of our cold front. as we head into sunday morning, a few showers will traverse the area. it's not going to stack up to all that much. as that front moves its way offshore, we see increasing sun and temperatures will respond nicely. so variable clouds on saturday. temps in the low 50s. i think it will feel nice outside after the first cold couple of hours to start the day. saturday night, the clouds thicken up. we'll stay in the 40s. then sunday a morning shower. it will get brighter and reach the low 60s. the brightest skies will be farther off toward the north and west. it will get to the sun first. we look at the patriots forecast here. we have low 50s and a chance for some of the showers. we'll be out there in the parking lot getting ready for the jets game.

looks dry and in the low 60s. you want to enjoy the sunshine because tonight's sunset at 5:50, halloween is next saturday night, but we fall back next weekend on saturday night which means our sunset moves to 4:30 by next sunday. we'll take a look at what's going on in the tropics. you heard of hurricane patricia. just a monstrous storm. weakening is 200 miles per hour to 190 miles per hour sustained winds. if it could sustain that and stay at that speed for landfall it would tie anywhere in the world for a hurricane. already it's peak intensity. it is the strongest anywhere in the western hemisphere. we'll be watching it to bring us our next chance of rain. here's the accuweather seven- day and the next chance of rain arrives tracking patricia all the way through. david and lisa, we'll send it back over to you.

a woman says she was followed to her door by a man who left the area in a van. >> reporter: the young woman wasn't hurt physically by what happened here very early this morning, but she was certainly more than a little bit shaken up. she told police she was walking just outside this harvard housing early this morning, walking her dog a little before 4:00 a.m. she says at that point, she started to feel, in her words that something wasn't right and started to run towards her doorway. that's when she sees two men she believes pull into this driveway in a minivan. she alleges that one of the men got out and ran after her. she says she was barely able to get inside the living area here, shut the door behind her. she says at that point, the suspect banged on the door in some sort of attempt to get in. he wasn't able to, so she says he ran back to the van and took off. very scary for her. also unsettling for people who live here. >> i walk by here every day.
