live look at what the weather good morning. >> reporter: hey, good morning. not raining yet. the skies are mostly cloudy and we are tracking the the radar. and i thought it would be quite eter than it actually is. we have a guy painting lines on the field behind us. there's been a lot of action. benches. those were just wheeled out a short time ago. and i have to admit, it's not that chilly this morning but once you stand out for a few the cool side. let's show you what's going on, pre-game tailgating and a few showers with temperatures in the 50s. if you're coming out here to gillette, in the parking lot here, opens at 9:00 a.m., and i would have the umbrella or raincoat. i am not anticipating anything heavy or all that long in duration. kick-off, a brief sprinkle still possible. skies mostly cloudy and look at that, into the lower 60s today. breezy and fairly mild. and a late daybreak of sunshine not out of the question as

well. and live doppler shows the rain through worcester right now. it's generally light and coming inside of 495 in the next 20 minutes or so. it's all with the cold front that extends ex -- that extends from northern maine to the mid-atlantic. we will stop by mid-morning, light rain right here over gillette stadium. boston to providence and then by the time we get to late morning, it tends the fizzle out. we stay mostly cloudy through the afternoon and late in the day, we get partial clearing that comes in, temperatures across the board actually in the lower 60s. so not too bad. we've handled every different type of weather, so a couple showers not a big deal at all. >> you know what though, heated bench, i don't care if it's only in the 50s, those are all right. >> i may have to go over and warm up and then come back over. see if they'll the turn them on. >> yeah. thank you so much. we will check back in. a murder in hyde park, a

say one of the family members killed him. police arrested evan lewis. louis used to work as a boston police dispatcher. and lewis is also the victim's niece. >> reporter: boston police remained onguard outside a hyde park saturday night, the scene of a family shooting earlier in the day. investigators telling wbz news a woman shot her own you think until the head. he later died. >> on arrival, we had a male in his 40s suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. it looks like it's clearly domestic in nature. >> my mom, my son, my uncle in there. >> reporter: family members rushed to the home looking for answers from police. all day long, investigators looked for the suspect, 36-year- old evan lewis. saturday evening, she was arrested.

she worked for boston police for nine years as a communications equipment operator before resigning in 20126789 a source describing her as a problem employee. >> we -- in 2012. a source describe her as a problem employee. >> we consider her armed and dangerous. >> reporter: just after the shooting, they told neighbors to take cover indoors. >> my car into the driveway and i saw police. and a few of them have guns in their happened and we rushed inside, okay. so one of them yelled, stay inside, stay inside. so we went inside and tried to stay safe. >> reporter: as of late last night, the name of the victim still had not been released but once again, police telling us that the victim is the uncle of the suspect who is now under arrest. the exact motive in all of this remain a mystery. in hyde park, jim smith, wbz this morning. investigators are trying to figure out what caused a small plane to crash just minutes after taking off from worcester airport. the crash killed a pilot.

the small single engine plane crashed into trees on the airport grounds. the pilot was the only person onboard. the construction worker nearby saw the plane go down. >> i just saw a plane crash. looked like it was right above the trees and it just, again, it wasn't up a little bit and then spun over, like almost straight down. we heard it crash and bang. >> the victim has been identified as gary weller of putnam, connecticut. cambridge police are searching for two suspects this morning accused of stabbing a man last night near a cemetery. police say the victim was walking by north cambridge catholic cemetery just before 9:00 when the suspects tried to rob him. when he resisted, he was stabbed in the back. the victim told police he was on his way to meet a woman he met on facebook but had never met in person. he was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. a marshfield mother is under arrest accused of driving

drunk after a crash on the cape and her 6-year-old daughter was in the car at time. police got word that the 35- year-old may have been driving drunk. minutes later, a car struck a pole on route 28 and caught fire. bystanders helped get the 6- year-old out of the car. she suffered minor injuries. police were able the to pull her from the car before the fire got out of hand. the pennsylvania mother who triggered an amber alert by driving her baby to boston is sharing her story. tiffany cherry was arrest when had she arrived here in massachusetts. she tells us that she was doing what she thought was best for her son. >> i would do anything for my children. to get my son the best care. and i would do it again. >> reporter: tiffany cherry does not regret driving her sick 2-month-old son from pennsylvania to boston that sparked an amber alert landing her in jail. >> everything in me told me tiffany, go. get your baby to boston children's hospital.

>> reporter: it all started when tiffany was told at an emergency chin nick dehydrated and he must be admitted to an emergency room for further care. >> i wasn't comfortable with the standard of my care my child was receiving. >> reporter: so she drove 4.5 hours to boston children's hospital. >> he was at children's hospital to have issue with his esophagus and low blood. so the dehydration came from a nurse practitioner who looked at my son for 10 seconds and didn't have a clue. >> reporter: the tiffany admits to being in trouble with the law in the past but says the amber alert never should have been issued. >> the the pennsylvania authorities just jumped the gun. >> reporter: she posted bail last week but she no longer has custody of her children. she has already suffered a loss when a son was stillborn back in 2009. >> it hurricane joaquins. it hurt -- it hurts. it hurts.

good morning. welcome back on this sunday. scattered showers are moving in to the picture now. moving into worcester county and it looks like the showers will stay in the forecast through 1:00 p.m. and now the thing is, they'll become more scattered and it won't be a complete washout this morning or even this this afternoon. 60 degrees by 4:00 p.m. for that high temperature. the wind picks up but it looks mainly dry. especially for this evening and into the first part of the seven-day forecast. i'll have the full details of how cool we will be for monday and tuesday in just a bit. >> all right. thank you so much. hollywood mourns the passing of legendary actress maureen o'hara. she died yesterday of natural causes. the actress starred in films

halloween time because the temperatures are so mild and we have a few showers moving in. live look at doppler radar, scattered showers moving in but everything you see on radar isn't necessarily hitting the ground because we are dry out there. a few sprinkles starting to pop up in some of the reports. all dry in boston right now. the bigger picture shows a long line of showers pushing towards the east here, this along a cold front that will continue to weaken as it progresses across massachusetts, shifting into the eastern part of the state by 9:00 a.m. right over boston, we have the around. those showers progress to the east here and they all of a sudden fall apart by 10:00 a.m. by 1:00, looking nice and dry for the patriot's game. thank goodness. after the game, still looking great with clearing skies. overnight tonight, that will allow for cooler temperatures to move in along with the cooler air funneling in as well.

the top stories. a former boston police dispatcher has been arrested for murder. police say the 36-year-old evan lewis shot her you think until the head in hyde park. he later died. lewis worked for boston police for nine years before resigning. investigators are still looking for a motive the case. investigators are also trying to figure out what caused a small plane to crash in worcester just minutes after airport. the pilot gayle weller of putnam, connecticut was killed. he was the only person onboard. a marshfield mother is under arrest, accused of driving drunk and crashing her car on the cape. her 6-year-old daughter was in the car at the time. the car caught fire. bystanders were able to pull the child to safety and police rescued the mom, 35-year-old christine cogle. a driver who only had her license for a month slammed into a medford business.

store yesterday morning. police say the 44-year-old driver was alone in the car. no word on her condition. investigators say the building collapsing. calls for kindness and peace in the memory of a young marathon bombing victim. bridgewater state university has launched the peace flag project last night. people from all over have been designing flags to hang at the university to honor martin marathon bombing. martin's parents both attended bridgewater state. a toddler is among the four people killed when an accused drunk driver plowed into a homecoming parade in oklahoma. more on this tragedy. >> reporter: victims were treated in the middle of main street after a car plowed into a parked police motorcycle and then crashed into a crowd of spectators at a high rate of speed a few blocks from campus.

accelerating. >> reporter: at least four people were killed. dozens more were injured. some victims were air lifted to city. >> the oklahoma state homecoming parade is probably one of the most wholesome, happy events in the country. and to have it defiled like this and these victims in this treble tragedy. >> reporter: a 25-year-old is in jail charged with driving under the influence. authorities don't know if it was an accident or intentional. >> we treat these like we would any homicide investigation. it will probably take several dice get additional information. >> reporter: the homecoming game was played as schedule with stadium flags flying at half staff and a moment of silence in honor of the victims. cbs news. two teenage boys are now under arrest this this morning

their classmates. investigators say the teens were planning to call in a bomb virginia. and then they planned to shoot people as they evacuated. the school resource officer was tipped off about the violent plans and arrested a 17-year- old student earlier this month. investigators then arrested a 15-year-old student on friday. both are now charged with conspiracy to commit murder. >> police investigation did access to firearms. >> the students are being held without bond. university, police are searching for the suspect who shot and killed a 19-year-old man during a fight on campus. three students were hurt in that shooting but all are now home from the hospital. the victim was not a student. parts of texas being pounded by rain today from what is left of hurricane patricia. downpours are expected to last are flooded. a train has derailed from the

marathon bombing. a driver who had only had her license for a month slammed into a medford business. the driver plowed into a store yesterday. police say the 44 year old driver was alone in the car. inspectors say the building is safe and not in danger of collapsing. turning now to a developing story, police are waiting for the results of blood tests to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role in a deadly crash that filled four people in oklahoma. one of them was two month years old. reporter: victims were treated in the middle of main street after a car plowed into a parked police motorcycle, then crashed into a crowd of spectators at a high rate of speed a few blocks from campus. >> we could kind of hear a little screaming and it sounded like a vehicle accelerate
