hearing next month. this morning, more wet weather is expected in the south. the weather system is headed to the east t. damage is done. parts of the gulf coast were hit with devastating flooding. flood watchs and warnings continue in parts of louisiana, mississippi and alabama. in louisiana, 20 elementary school children were rescued after their school bus got stranded on a flooded bridge. >> i couldn't believe it. no one has ever tried to drive through that water, especially not a school bus with kids on it. so not as long as i've lived there. >> no one was hurt. the bus driver says the engine stalled as he tried to drive through the water. investigators are on the scene of a whale watching boat tragedy off canada's south coast. it sank, killing five british tourists. rescuers say 21 passengers, one

photographer, also a volunteer firefighters and emt. when she saw a survivor on the wing, sher mind began racing. >> we were relieved to see somebody was there and walking around t. other question was, is there anybody else on board, what is their status? are they really injured? >> the chopper 4 pile decided to land. they knew they had to help. >> that's the first thing you want to do is embed it in your brain you want to get out and hef. >> reporter: he got out of the plane, another crew member got out. too. seeing them standing on the wing standing up was good news from my standpoint. but it was a pretty big airplane and i knew there could have been other passengers on board and that's when i made the decision to land. >> moments later, another survivor ran back to the plane. right after the plane crashed, he took off on foot on the levy looking for help.

help and with ground rescue crews nearby, the pilot decided to get back into the air. >> everybody was breathing. nobody was under water. so at that point i was a better aid to be directing the authorities and mortgages responders into the scene. >> coming up, more on u.s. warships sailing near disputed chinese islands. plus, we will go to a suburb where there is concern over landfills.
