up, we'll let you get down the road. weather and traffic. and monday brought us several areas of traffic slowdowns. checking the north map now, 93 southbound from woodburn to boston, and pvd, and route 34 speed limit runs. >> kathryn and chris? >> it's 5:02, we begin with a developing story, a let against a middle school. >> police are investigating that threat. nicole has the latest on the investigation. >> reporter: chris, kathryn, we know the threat came in over the weekend and immediately school officials and law enforcement intervened to try to sort the situation. i can tell you it has not affected the school schedule. there was school yesterday and

school officials are being quite tight-lipped with regards to the actual threat, and the student who allegedly made it, but the threat came in over the weekend, at which point no students nowhere danger, and authorities immediately intervened. because of confidentiality laws there isn't a lot she could say but she did provide a statement reading in part, because the event occurred over the weekend and the student is not in school, the pembroke police are handling the investigate at this time. there has been no disciplinary process at the school level at this time. according to the patriot ledger, that is going with protocol, however that that has not been confirmed by the police or the school. she didn't want to say much about the student because the school community is so small,

his name has not yet been released. the police are also investigating a crash that killed a senior. the 17-year-old died when his car crashed into's poll. police don't know why he lost control and crashed. the schools he was part of the campus ministry and campus programs. a student is being held on bail on charges he sexual assaulted a woman on campus. he was in court yesterday, and police say they arrested him on saturday after a student reported the assault. he was then arrested a second time on sunday and charged with intimidating a witness. >> unfaceomable, that's what the nfl is calling a judge's decision to va-- un-fathomable. they said the collective bargains agreement gave roger goodell, the right to file the

response by december 7th and the case will be heard sometime after the regular season ends. lawmakers reaching a potential budget deal on capitol hill, house g.o.p. leaders revealed some details overnight. it would raise the debt ceiling through march of 2017, and increase domestic, and spending by $80 billion over two years. a vote could be held as early as tomorrow. house speaker is urging congress to approve this deal before austin ryan is sworn in thursday. and fidelity aloud 13 unregistered investment advisors to use its online broker-dealer platform and one of those advisors made more than $730,000 in trade fees in over ten years. fidelity is not charged with any

soon, on even a modest pending bill that wouldalicate $30 million for expanded drug treatment and education cross the country. not only is that about the same amounts governor baker wants to spend here in massachusetts alone, but it's only a slight exaggeration they spill that much in a party by washington lobbyists in any given month. the bill is being quote held hostage to the fact that we don't do anything in washington, end quote. will be the writer on governor hill, where charlie baker says he's optimistick, we'll see action on the opiod before the end of the year and some last mourning fully at his vow to push for 300 more after care beds by next year and we could probably fill thousands statewide and still not serve as we need.

and that student is not in school, but isn't facing disciplinary action. a couple accused of robbing banks, expected in a courtroom today. joseph jenny carrier were arrested in philadelphia today, after weeks on the run. they were wanted for crimes in massachusetts, delaware, and florida. >> new details about this massive explosion at a home in tonton. we know the homeowner who narrowly escaped was doing home repairs. she made it out safely. she was attempting to repair or gas water heater. that allowed gas to build up in the basement of the home. >> it was just a simple light switch is capable of igniting gas in the right range. >> once that happens, you have a heavy fast-moving fire.

licensed contractor can save big problems, especially when dealing with gas. a former boston dispatcher is undergoing a mental health evaluation. 36-year-old lewis appeared hunched over and distraught. the judge ordered a psychological evaluation. she's accused of shooting her uncle in their home. they say francis was trying to calm lewis when he was killed. >> my heart is broken and all i can do is just look at her and think about we were with her, and wonder what inspired her to snap. >> family members say lewis was acting strangely since moving from boston to south carolina. did this school resource officer go too far? the teacher called the officer for help with a student, but the

girl wouldn't stand up. here's pre with a closer look, and this video is causing an uproar. >> the sheriff's office and school officials in columbia say they're looking into what happened. the cell phone video was taken by another student and it shows deputy ben fields asking the girl to get up from her desk, and she attempts to remove her. you saw the dusk flip backwards. the student who filmed spoke plus exclusively. >> that's somebody that's supposed to protect us, not somebody that's going to make us scared of. >> classmates say it started started when the girl refused put away her cell phone. she was arrested by deputy field, asks the deputy will not be back pending the results of their investigation investigation.

it looks like people aren't shelling out as much money for halloween. >> plus, the fed meeting on interest rates. joe wagner is live at the new york stock exchange with today's money watch. good morning, jill. >> good morning. chris and kathryn, the federal reserve gips a two-day policy meeting today. >> reporter: the fed did not raise interest rates in september; and calling for a rate hike before the end of the year. other board members say the economy isn't strong enough. we'll know more tomorrow when the meeting wraps up. it could be frightening halloween for retailers. sales are expected to fall almost 7% compared to last year. the national retail federation predicts the lowest sales since 2011. and if you like sweet and spooky, starbucks has a prapula cappuccino, and it is a

left lane is blocked. chris and kathryn. 5:48 tuesday morning. a modern day bonnie and collide under arrest. >> plus, here are your top stories on this tuesday morning. >> reporter: good morning, i'm nicole jacobs live outside of pembroke middle school where investigators are looking into a weekend threat against the school. now, school officials aren't saying much but we do know this threat has not interrupted the class schedule. the student is not currently in school, according to the patriot ledger that student is undergoing a mental help assessment and school officials have been very careful to abide by what they call are confidentiality laws so we don't know much about the threat or the student other than the school is safe and security is of the utmost to them.

we're live in pembroke, wbz this morning. a school in carver, the governor john carver school, a teacher spotted someone unusual. police dogs searched the building, but officers did not find a threat. the couple called massachusetts bonnie and clyde wanted for a month are finally captured. the couple is accused of robbing banks along the east coast. they're expected in a pennsylvania courtroom this morning. joseph jenny were arrested in philadelphia after a high-speed chase that kicked off with a bank robbery in delaware. coming up at 6:00, why it might be a while before they run to the bay state. a little league concession stand trashed by vandal vandals

>> reporter: almost 87 million people went shopping the day after thanksgiving, for retailers, it has become a major day in business. they want people to stay outside on black friday, not shop inside. recreational equipment, ink, you know them as rei will not only close all of their 143 stores after turkey day, they're urging would be shoppers to stay away from all stores today. the co-op plans to start a campaign, and wants folks to go on social media, use the hashtag #optoutside, and tell others what they're doing as an alternative like kayaking. last year, one of the store managers said somebody has to put their flag in the sand and say enough is enough. so what do you think about this
