brittany not only had to deliver her son via emergency c- section yesterday, but she has a broken hip and broken ankle from this car crash. her husband dennis has a dislocated hip. if you take a look at this video in just a moment, you'll see why they are lucky it wasn't worse. for brittany and her husband, their son aden is almost two months premature. >> a little help breathing but other than that he's doing real well. >> reporter: the family is happy mom, dad, and baby are okay. they were in this car that was struck from behind, rolled off the road and hit a poll. >> it looks like there was somebody racing and my daughter got in the way. >> reporter: brittany and dennis happened to be on their way home from a doctor's appointment when the car hit

thought the trial would be wrapping up in another couple of weeks or so. that was based on the original time line, but of course all of that is now changed now that question. the mental health evaluation is now in the hands of the court. it was completed already, but under seal. just a few days into jury selection, 16-year-old phillip chyz imbegan baning his head against walls and floors and nonresponsive to officials as he awaits trial for the murders of his dan verses high schoolteacher calling ritzer. he is accused of raining, robbing, and murdering ritzer in 2013. prosecutors have skirted around defense. the judge is expected to take up this issue today, perhaps to

determine if chism is competent to stand trial. we'll also, perhaps, learn how the trial and both sides will move forward. >> nicole, thank you very much. three kids gunning for trouble are now accused of throwing rocks and firing a bb gun at a group of homeless people in lowell. that's not the only reason people are concerned. lowell police told us an officer spotted three boys throwing rocks at a group of homeless people taking shelter underneath. one of the boys was also firing a bb gun. police say that bb gun looked almost identical to a real gun. >> it's unsafe for the officers but it's unsafe for the kid carrying it, too. if he pulls it out on the wrong person, they think it's a real gun and you don't nope what the reaction will be. >> the boy carrying the bb is 22 and the other throwing rocks are 12. the people they were aiming at

police in manchester, new hampshire searching follow a gunman. -- searching for a gunman. witnesses heard at least six shots. three construction workers badly injured in an accident in merrimac. they were crushed yesterday afternoon when the second floor wall of a new home collapsed. they were seriously hurt but all are expected to survive. now federal investigators are looking into what happened. new this morning, a rescue on the water in weymouth. two people were in a boat that flipped last night sending them into the waters off of fort point road. a quincy police boat pulled them out. their conditions have not been released. 5:07 right now. the d.a.'s office and dcf are investigating a baby girl's death in sandwich. she was found unresponsive at a home yesterday morning, and paramedics couldn't revive her.

the d.a.'s office says there nor obvious signs. a doctor told the family the infant died of s.i.d.s. a wake will be held for maddy, the 17-year-old girl who died when the car she was driving hit a tree. a scholarship fund has been set up in her memory. a stoughton woman is pleading with the thieves who broke into her car and stole her brother's ashes. danielle's car was one of several broken into early yesterday morning. the thief took money, credit cards and a small prescription ashes. he died last january. danielle just wants them returned, no questions asked. >> i just want that back. just turn it in to whoever. that's irreplaceable. just don't throw them away. just give them back to me. >> one of her credit cards that

wreck involving the police and the black community over those relatively rare but intolerable cases of unjustified police violence and the public backlash against it. this is a problem our culture's been struggling with for a long time, and it's gotten worse over the past year or so as high-profile cases of brutality have been caught on tape, sides. like any hot button political issue it has attracted clueless grandstanders who have done their best to make things worse. exhibit a would be movie director quentin tarantino who showed up at a recent ant tray brutality protest in new york city and said "if you believe there's murder going on, then you need to rise up and stand up against it. i'm here to say i'm on the side of the murdered." unfortunately, those remarks came just days after a new york city cop was brutally murdered.

c section on brittany beaudoin was in yesterday. pay car forced them off the road. the family tells us their son aden is doing okay. a danvers teen is expected back in court this morning as a judge decides whether he is competent to stand trial for the murder of his math teacher. phillip chism has been undergoing a mental health evaluation that's put his trial on hold for several weeks. chism is accused of killing colleen ritzer in 2014. he was 14 years old at the time but is being charged as an adult. investigators say larry king, jr. stabbed his brother then barricaded himself inside of the house on washington street early yesterday morning. there was a s.w.a.t. standoff for hours before police finally went into the home. they found him there suffering from a self-inflicted stab wound. he has died. investigating a possible threat made by the department of public works, an ploy employee there.

employee who was told not to come to work yesterday. police are stepping up security as a precaution, but the head of the department says it's business as usual. a south shore town is victimized by hackers who managed to steal tens of thousands from the town's bank account. officials recently noticed their bank account with rockland trust was short $30,000. the account is insured so the town got all of the money back, but they don't know who managed to gain access to that account. >> where so much of this is done electronically, money transfers, and that's how we operate in this day and age. lots of that is approved to pay billsp this. person was able to infiltrate that system. >> while most cybercrime these days comes from overseas. police believe these hackers are probably local. a burlington mosque that

high pressure building out of eastern canada. the wind around the high pressure flows in a clockwise direction. the sea breeze kicking in keeps it cooler than everybody else. starting our day tomorrow with coastal clouds and a blend of sun and clouds where the clouds will increase today and tomorrow. i can't rule out a couple of showers but not until tomorrow evening. so most of our thursday has been dry. thursday into friday, a few scattered showers will be with us for friday morning's commute. sun breaks out friday afternoon. we come into the low to even some mid-70s. we approach record high temperatures. i think we'll do it in many communities late in the day friday evening and night, a cold front approaches. it's going to be breezy, too, and cooler air will come back into the mix as we head into the weekend. i know it's wednesday, hump day, but let's take a look towards the weekend.
