i like to call it the broken record this week. >> it's a great record. >> it's like the platinum record over there. >> 70s today. i totally get what you are saying. it's been such an awesome stretch of weather. temperatures are still going to be well above average here. 54 in boston right now. to put that in perspective, the normal high temperatures is in the mid-50s. southwest wind right now 12 miles per hour. we do have some 30s and 40s on the map. 36 in keene. it's one of the colder spots, but a lot of us are running in the 40s and 50s as you are stepping out this morning. there is a little bit of fog, too. notice logan airport at 5 miles. when you get back along the south coast, that's thicker and a dense fog advisory. it's been issued along 8:00 a.m. along the south coast for pockets of visibility that will

other than that the fog will gradually burn off and lift from mid to late morning. as sun breaks out it will be mik mixed with clouds today. sunrise at 6:22. 68 degrees by lunchtime. topping out in the lower 70s today. there may be an isolated shower along the south coast as we head into the ride home with the middle 60s. we'll take you to the end of the week and talk about the weekend, you guys. we begin with breaking news out of worcester this morning. there is a report of a body car. firefighters were called out to swan avenue to extinguish a car fire last night. they discovered what appears to be a body inside. this is on a dirt road in a remote area of worcester. now investigating. nicole jacobs is on the scene and will have a live report coming up. the discovery of worcester came just a day after investigators found another burned body in bridgewater.

police have two big questions. who is she and who did this. late thursday night, residents saw an suv on the train tracks near oak street. she called 911. when police arrived, they found a human body still burning. the unidentified woman's hands and feet were tied. investigators believe she was killed by someone else and dumped on the tracks. >> everyone's very shooken up. many people have lived here for 40, 50 years or more. they are just not used to something like this even being a possibility. >> that is so scary. that really is scary. >> police do not believe the killing was random. we're following developing reports out of new york this morning. a small plane registered out of new hampshire crashes in the water in queens. crews recovered one body from the wreckage there. overnight. the plane is believed to be a philadelphia to maine. we'll bring you more

information as it comes into the wbz news room. also developing, u.s. and british intelligence officials say an isis bomb likely brought down that russian plane that crashed in egypt. this morning, some flights in precaution. what can you tell us, bree? >> reporter: kathryn, 224 people died when the airliner crashed last weekend. a u.s. official says a youtube video appears to show the moment the plane took off and later when it began tumbling to the ground. according to the official, the person recording the video seemed to know that something was about to happen. the british government says a bomb caused this. >> we have concluded that there is a significant possibility that that crash was caused by an explosive device on board the aircraft. >> reporter: at least part of that conclusion is based on this recording. the isis affiliate in the sinai

say "we did not take the plane down." u.s. officials also say tonight that intercepted communications by the terror group indicate they were behind the attack. >> this is a very troubling development that they've been able to get into a russian passenger jet. >> reporter: wbz security expert ed davis says this attack could be retaliation against russian air strikes in syria. >> the russian government will have to respond. >> reporter: u.s. and russian officials, meantime, are stressing it's still too early to rule on a cause. egyptian authorities did recover the plane's black boxes and say the cockpit voice recorder is damaged and will take weeks to recover the data. cnn reports new intelligence suggests someone at the airport in egypt put a bomb on that plane. the fallout has begun. the head of the airport has been replaced. many flights are grounded leaving several tourists trapped.

it is 4:35 right now. boston sports teams are paid big money for patriotic tributes during games. a new congress at report reveals how much our local teams got for them. new england patriots were paid $700,000 for the defense department for recognizing army national guard soldiers at home games. that was the second highest amount paid to any sports team. the bruins got $280,000, celtics $195,000 and red sox received $100,000. all of that money for gestures to our troops. the report released yesterday by senators mccain and lake slammed practice that they call paid patriotism. >> when you see activities like this that people assume when they go to games are paid for out of the goodness of their heart by the owners and teams and then to find out the taxpayer is paying for it, it cheapens the whole lot.

would prohibit the so-called paid patriotism. $53 million was spent on this. most of the money was for legitimate recruiting marketing. this morning, a driver is blaming solar glare for a deadly crash. two women were hit by this black nissan as they used a crosswalk in westbrook line yesterday. both women were thrown into the street. one of them in her 70s died from her injuries. witnesses on the scene tell wbz the driver said the sun was to blame and she never saw the women. >> every time you drive down this street, you can't see. the sun, it's hard to see anyway. so you can't see the people. >> this particular intersection does not have a traffic light or walk signals, and residents say it's dangerous. so far, the driver has not been charged. the other pedestrian is in serious condition. jury selection resumes this morning in the trial of a danvers teen accused of

a judge ruled yesterday that phillip chism is competent to stand trial. he's charged with raping and murdering colleen ritzer at danvers high in 2013. the trial was recently put on hold so the 16-year-old could have a mental health evaluation. building a $6 million casino will present their plan today. they say it will bring in 4 million visitors to the area every year. state regulators fear it could become oversaturated with a tribal casino in taunton and slots parlor in plainville. also today, the gaming commission is expected to offer advice on how to regulate the fantasy sports industry. campaign 2016 now. carly fiorina is expected to file paperwork to officially get her name on the ballot. also campaigning today in the

granite state, ohio governor john kasich. he'll visit portsmouth, durham, and london dairy today and file paperwork in concord tomorrow. new jersey governor chris christie will spend the next three days in the area today. he files his paperwork tomorrow and will be in portsmouth on saturday. donald trump's lead in new hampshire may be in some trouble. a new poll from wbur shows both trump and ben carson losing ground while marco rubio's numbers are going up. the florida senator is up nine points since the last poll in september. today, the trump campaign will begin airing its first radio ads in three states, including new hampshire. it is 4:39 right now. coming up on wbz this morning, under the microscope. >> the new investigation under way after it was redeveloped that the officer's death was an elaborate suicide. >> it is the end of the road for city sports.

it is a mild start. we do have cooler readings. north and west of town, it's 39 in nashua. manchester, jaffrey, fitchburg this morning. mild mid-50s along the south shore, cape and islands running 50 to 55 degrees. 56 on the vineyard and nantucket. skies cleared above the fog. once the fog burns off mid to late morning for most of us, we are in for partial sunshine and a mild day. not a whole lot of action directly to our west. we do have rain and snow in parts of colorado this morning. this front, actually, is going to bring us a threat for showers as we head into the latter portion of the day tomorrow, and some lingering clouds to start the weekend. so today, it is a wind coming in from the south-southwest. we get a couple of showers isolated by the evening commute along the south coast and cape cod. most of us will be dry today. temperatures come up into the low 70s. heading into our friday, a couple of morning showers, not a big deal.
