>> reporter: it was this past tuesday night 10:01 when father and son heard the cries in quincy bay more than a half mile from her north weymouth home. >> i said we have to go. >> reporter: sam grabbed the life jackets and told his mother to call for help. >> reporter: he grabbed his neighbor's paddle boat and was thinking, "don't die." >> he'd try to climb up the boat and it would push down. it was this bobbing vertical thing. >> reporter: two men in their 30s were in serious trouble. >> i tried to talk sense into them and tell them i was there to help them, calm them down. >> reporter: chuck loaded one onto the bow, the other onto the stern and started back to shore. >> like, you are not going to die today. >> reporter: some way, somehow, they are finally enroute to

help. >> reporter: chuck amazingly just walked home. since that time, i think he's gotten the picture. would you do it again. >> absolutely. yeah. i only try to do what i hope others will do for me. >> reporter: these victims jackets. they were this rough shape when taken away by ambulance. the brown family only knows their fist names. they'd love to meet them to see how they are doing. morning. two police officers are facing murder charges in the shooting death of a 6-year-old little boy. investigators say 23-year-old norris green house and 32-year- old derrick stafford fired at least 18 rounds at an unarmed man and his son following a chase on tuesday night in central louisiana. 6-year-old jeremy martis died of multiple gunshot wounds, still buckled into the front

seat of his dad's suv. his father was shot in the head and is in critical condition. investigators would not release details about why the officers were chasing the suv. two other officers involved in the case have not been charged. police are searching for the man who touched an 11-year- old girl inappropriately. she says he apologized but that's not doing anything to calm parents' fears. >> reporter: it was not in the darkness of night, but 9:00 in the morning that an 11-year-old says a man grabbed her from behind. >> she's extremely intelligent, and she just let other people know about it, which was smart because not many kids would say something about it. >> reporter: the girl reported she turned around, the man apologized and walked away. the woman who knows her says there's no way he thought the girl was older than a child. >> it's concerning as a parent.

now you can't let your kids outside because you are afraid something's going to happen. >> reporter: police searched but did not find the guy. parents are concerned not only is the man still out there, but he went after the girl when a lot of people were around. >> so blatant about it to come out here when they are going to school and do something like that. it's scary. >> i can't say what i want to say on camera, you know what i mean? there's no need in that, really. i hope they find the guy. >> reporter: the girl describes her attacker add white or light skinned between 5' 7'' or 5' 8'' and in his early 20s. a gymnastics coach has turned himself into police. he is accused of sexually assaulting one of his young police say kamran beaden assaulted a child. he was trying to help a falling child and says kids are never left alone with instructors. still, he's on leave until the

still, parents say they didn't see this coming. >> i really haven't had any -- i think it's a great place. >> beaden meantime is barred from working or volunteering with children. a former uber driver has pleaded not guilty to charges he attacked four women in boston over four years. he's already serving 10 to 12 years in prison, convicted of raping a woman last year. investigators say dna connects him with the other attacks from 2006 to 2010 in south posten and along the esplanade. >> the mashpee school district superintendent is on indefinite leave, accused of breaking into a student's home. on thursday, brian hyde pleaded not guilty to trespassing charges. police say he broke into the home to see if the student really lived there. aaron hernandez and his

defense team had a set basket. a judge rejected a request to throw out evidence the night he allege lid shot and killed two men. the judge also denied a request to drop a witness intimidation charge. police have made an arrest in the murder of a woman found burned inside of a car in worcester. right now, thomas hogan is charged with lying to police about his relationship with the victim. police say he is a suspect in the case and could face additional charges. the murdered woman's name has not been released. fist an explosion and then complete silence. investigators in the deadly russian plane crash say the plaque box proves the crash was no accident. that information only confirms early british and american intelligence pointing towards terrorism. in its analysis of that video, france, too, says everything is fine 24 minutes into the flight. then in a second, there is a

"spotlight" focuses on boston globe's reporting of the clergy sex abuse scandal and cover-up. one survivor came from dublin, ireland just to see the film. mark healey was abused by two different priests as a child, priests who were later moved to other countries. since then, he's made a life's work studying the effects of sex abuse. he says it does a good job telling the story, but he doesn't want to forget the survivors. >> i'm hoping that after this movie, obviously, the one worldwide people will understand more about what boston went through, the dedication and all of the bostonians and survivor groups. >> "spotlight" won't make it to ireland until january. healey said he flew here wait that long. if you want to see it, it means

the only local theater is the amc lowe's boston common. a good samaritan is getting praise for rescuing a lobsterman who jumped into the water off of his burning boat. it went up in flames friday morning and sank soon there after. the lobsterman jumped off to escape the flames. the good samaritan said he's happy everyone is okay. >> reporter: have you ever saved a guy from the water before? >> nope, first time. felt pretty good. >> reporter: the lobsterman did have a fire extinguisher on board but it wasn't enough. 6:36 now. there are renewed domestic violence issues for the nfl and greg hardy of the dallas cowboys. police photos have been released taken the night hardy's ex-girlfriend claimed he abused her. some of the pictures are difficult to see.

a judge found hardy guilty of domestic assault last year, but when he appealed to a full jury trial, the former girlfriend stopped cooperating and the case thrown out with his record expunged. jerry jones said last night the team had not seen the photos before signing hardy to a $13 million contract. jones also released a statement saying in part, "we do not condone domestic violence." he goes on to say "we have given greg a second chance. he made news again for saying he couldn't wait to see tom brady's wife giselle in the stands. president obama is shutting down the keystone oil pipeline ending the seven-year political saga. the project would have moved canadian crew to refineries on

the white house says it would have undercot the global climate change deal. a teacher is having a life-changing effect on a 12- year-old student. jake has to use a wheelchair to move around, and although his medical condition is getting worse, he doesn't dwell on it. as paul burton shows us, that's one of the reasons one of his teachers was inspired to find a way to help him. take a look. >> i can't walk anymore. i originally could when i was little. >> reporter: 12-year-old jake is learning a lot of hard lessons about life but his approach to it is inspiring those around him, especially his substitute teacher melissa. >> every morning, he always would say good morning with a big smile. i thought if somebody like that can be happy every, single day, what do we have to complain about? >> reporter: jake suffers from an illness. >> it's like als but with children. it's heart wrenching. >> reporter: jake lost his

a former uber driver has pleaded not guilty to charges he attacked four women in boston over four years. he's already facing 10 to 12 years in prison, convicted of raping a woman last year. investigators say dna connected him with the other attacks in south boston and along the esplanade. now to a developing story in the shooting death of a 6- year-old boy. two police officers are charged. the two fired at least 18 rounds at an unarmed man and his young son following a chase on tuesday night in central louisiana. 6-year-old jeremy martis died of multiple gunshot wounds still buckled into the front seat of his dad's suv. his father was shot in the head and is in critical condition. investigators would not release any details about why the officers were chasing him.

joining me now is the founder and director of b.o.k.s. success. >> i have two children and both got information on this. you told me you came up with this program. tell me how you came up with the idea. >> back in 2009, i had come across a book written by dr. john raidy and he talks about in his book he is a professor of psychiatry and talks about how exercise really promotes academic learning and in as little as 20 to 30 minutes of exercise every day increases test scores by 15 to 20%. so i realize that there was a until enactivity epidemic and i said we need to take responsibility because kids, adults, we were designed to move so we need to provide that opportunity to let kids move. >> with all of the video games and apps that kids are buying now, they are spending time with the computers and ipads and all that, and they are not
