>> he's a good father, a good stepfather, good fiance. >> reporter: to his family, jared was their everything. but now his parents, seven-year- old son, fiance and two children and friends are comforting them at their mansfield home. his mother ad admits she is in shock. >> i find it hard to believe he is gone and i'm feeling a rash of emotions about the way it happened. >> reporter: how it happened say police was a deadly combination of alcohol and rage. michael hinds was drunk and in a fit of road rage intentionally crashed into jared and his friend not once, but twice. records show this isn't his first oui. we went to hinds' home where a

>> the best i can say about the creature who caused the morning? i just hope like crazy that whatever judge he goes before amount of time. >> reporter: there was another man in his car. hinds is here tonight. he'll face judge tomorrow. live in foxborough, k ate. police say a man was involved in a stabbing with two women and four children and escaped tonight out a third floor window. this was not a hostage situation and no one was hurt.

also developing tonight a fugitive caught in boston. kevin paul will be arraigned tomorrow. he was an accomplice in the murder of a new hampshire police officer. they suspect he is now in a burglary ring that steals and trades guns. now at 11:00 you can watch the frightening moment that two boston police officers are dragged after a traffic stop. one of the officers are hanging out of the passenger window. they pulled it over after speeding, but as the officers spoke to the driver police say gilbert bryant hit the gas until dragging them 100 yards before the car crashed. the temperatures are about to plunge. chief meteorologist curt fisher here of when the timeline will happen. derek fisher is here. >> reporter: we will take it

time calling for seat belts on school bus. 16-year-old ashley brown's life ended on the way a high school soccer game when the bus she was riding in crashed. >> not a day goes by that we don't think of her. wounds are refreshened every time we see an accident on a motor coach. >> reporter: itettes estimates are five children die every year in school bus crashes. they are hoping change can come without new regulations. seat belt are expensive costing

>> reporter: the violence in apartment two was just something everyone accepted like a neighbor. >> this has been going on for like two years. >> reporter: but sunday night police got a call that things were especially bad. >> they were able to force entry into that apartment and able to see couch in a his girlfriend dead on the floor. a survivor of domestic violence flag. >> when they come out they really really come out to get you. >> reporter: woodbury has been arrested for abusing her at least seven times since 2012. >> you often rush to say why didn't they leave.

generally a half inch to 1 inch all the way through wednesday. the winds will really pick up tomorrow night and be here for wednesday and the cape and the islands maybe even forted five to 50 miles per hour. -- 45 to 50 miles per hour. we have had this rain moving it's way through the mid- atlantic. some of it is going to work its way toward us but i don't think it's going to cover the whole area. we'll talk about that in a minute. we also have tropical storm kate. they will link up down the road though out the sea. it will be cool to start tomorrow definitely fall jacket weather, but dry. but rain showers will develop in the afternoon. highs mid to upper 50s so pretty seasonal in terms of temperatures and here is a look

hour, so in the morning bright eskies north of boston, grayest -- brightest skies north of boston. our heaviest rainfall is morning. as we head towards wednesday evening it will taper off. tomorrow evening it will be damp outside for sure. looks a little less wet than it did earlier today. the rain will be tapering off before the wednesday night drive. how about the wind side of this? starts to pick up late tuesday night into wednesday and turn around to the northeast and really focusing on the islands. the peek gusts out of cape cod
