we have one piece of energy to the south along the coast. a little more extra air support. as those combined, we'll see that rain spread as we head into the overnight hours. here comes a look at the trend hour by hour. the steadiest rainfall looks to be after midnight and throughout the day tomorrow. it looks very wet outside. looks to be windy and raw. as we head through the afternoon. that rain starts to taper off to showers lingering most right along the coastline as we head into the afternoon and evening. we all stay socked in with the clouds with drying happening tomorrow night. the wind advisories are out along the coast. includes the south shore, north shore, cape cod and nantucket. low impact tonight. it's tomorrow morning's drive that will feel most of the hurt. slowing things down. we want to plan for the extra

time to get to your destination. >> before you head out tomorrow. check your weather app to see how the storm is going to affect your commute. just search cbs boston. we're happy to say we have good news from former president jimmy carter he says recent tests have found he's responding well to cancer treatment. doctors are have not found any evidence of any tumors. the 89-year-old announced he had brain cancer back in august. dozens of university students blocked the north eastern t stop. the university is increasingly relying on adjunct professors who get paid a lot less than professors. and dozens of workers walked out of work.

these workers want to make at least $15 an hour. they say they're tired of low wages for hard work and that minimum wage simply is not good enough. the demonstrators also say they are not just fighting for themselves. >> it's for all workers from child care, home care, day care centers, fast food workers, box store workers it's for everyone. >> today's demonstrations is expected to be the biggest since they launched the campaign a few years ago. they're hoping it will impact the 2016 presidential election. the family of a young man killed facing the driver. bill shields is live where the family faced the suspect.

the father of three. but there were witnesses who told police about the red truck that did it. tire. police found hines truck in his driveway and he was allegedly drink. >> it's the best i can say about the preacher that caused the accident, and that's what he is a preacher who already has priors. he shouldn't have been driving. 1.9 at 10:00 in the morning. >> reporter: according to the police reports we obtained in court. when hines was arrested in his norton home he said a number of of things to police but among them he said i smashed into someone. it's not like i killed anyone. reporting live from adelborough, lisa. a fugitive convicted for his role in the murder of a new hampshire police department.

video of an officer staring down an suv headed toward him. the officer shoots several shots. another officers body cameras shows what happens next. the woman sticks her head out yelling god before she's hit. the officer in the cruiser suffered minor injuries. the police department now says the woman was high on meth. the republican candidates will take to the stage again. trump and carson neck and neck in the key early voting state of south carolina. 28% of likely gop voters say they would back ben carson. 37% for trump. marco rubio came in third. >> a famous painting that hung for years in the gardner high school office will soon provide scholarships to students.

the timing isn't great with all the veteran day observances. very gusty at the coast. the strongest wind gusts will come across cape cod and the islands tomorrow. could see a couple of stuff at 50 miles per hour. flooding not a big player here. minor splash over tomorrow morning. here's a look at the large picture. there's one piece of energy moving up the coast. this is the arm that's going to start to move in, take control and bring in that more widespread rain. this afternoon it's been mainly all south of boston. now creeping its way into central massachusetts. the air is very dry. everyone though you see it on radar is not completely reaching the ground at this time. so that rain drops you see is off to the west of the wester. that will just continue as we head into the overnight. it is chilly outside. we will fall back into the 40s tonight. it'll be tough to get off of the map tomorrow.

the rain increasing as that system from the west starts to lend some of its energy toward the new system. it's commute time, it's going to be wet. it's going to be windy. there's leaves on the ground. just be careful with those slick leaves. and you definitely want the rain gear if you're going to any parades. we'll start to taper off and staying wet from the seacoast to boston and toward cape cod and central massachusetts. the clouds are going it can -- going to be here for all of us throughout the day. overnight. northeast. the north-northeast. that's where we'll get the strongest winds coming down across the cape the island it is south shore and perhaps cape anne as well. that's where we could see the 30 to 40-mile an hour gusts. you can see the circulation in the middle of your screen. damage.

we could see a couple of isolated damage. that will be with us through the afternoon. tomorrow evening the strongest of the winds will move out to see as the storm moves out to sea -- will move out to sea as the storm moves out to sea. high temps tomorrow stay in the 40s to around 50 degrees. so it is the coldest day so far. hour by hour through your veteran's day. highest chance of rain through the first part of the day tapering showers as we head through the afternoon and evening. the rain part of all of this is pretty beneficial. we're now running almost a 9- inch rainfall deficit. over 7-inch rainfall deficit in woster. the next system is arriving and this will bring more showers and downpours for thursday afternoon and evening. once that front moves through heading into friday things will

tonight new rules to protect our kids. >> and we start with rules for soccer. there's limits on kids from all the way up to age 13. the federation wants doctors to decide whether kids with suspected concussions can play in games and not leave that decision up to coaches. there's also a new push tonight to make school buses safe. >> for the first time federal

safety officials are supporting a movement to require school school buses. required in six statements, massachusetts isn't one of them. the ntsb estimates that four kids die every year in school bus crashes. invest invest-- investigators say adding seat belts can cut numbers in half. >> that always gets to me. why are there no seat belts on school buses. and now to the confuses task of choosing a booster seat for your kids. chris martinez has a look at which you want to pick out and which you want to avoid. >> reporter: 15 are deemed a best bet. three were rated good bets.
