thank you for joining us this morning. i'm chris mckinnon. >> i'm bree sison in for kathryn hauser. let's get right to the weather >> good morning. we've got areas of rain and downpours embedded in there as well. let's zoom in and you'll encounter the wet roads. it's the big thing with the leaves coming down. once they get wet, they get a little slick so use caution this morning. when you get on the north side of lowell, there are heavy downpours that extend back up into the merrimack valley hampstead to haverhill and back up toward the new hampshire seacoast as well. some downs, heavy ones along route 6 all the way from the cape cod canal and back around towards eastham and wellfleet as well. where do we go from here?

boston-based draft king and fan duel are games of chance not skill and ordered them to stop immediately. a case involving two dragged police officers is shining a light on uber. brian gilbert has a long history of driving offenses. he's spent time in federal prison and had four convictions on drug possession charges. still, he worked for uber several times in the months before his arrest. although the company says he was not an employee on sunday when he was arrested for dragging two police officers who tried to pull him over, girl bert is facing assault charges -- gilbert is facing asalt charges in that case. injuries. a man pointed a fake gun in a case of road rage. a driver on 93 said a man pointed a weapon at her and drove off. she followed that car until a medford police officer stopped

and arrested him. police say the 20-year-old had a replica gun with the orange tip painted black. he will be arraigned in somerville tomorrow morning. a scare outside the white house last night. the secret service arresting a the north fence. charges. this morning, a team of federal investigators will be on scene of a deadly plane crash in ohio. two pilots and seven passengers were on board when it hit an apartment building in akron, ohio tuesday afternoon. it clipped electrical wires on its way down and hit the building and embankment. investigators do not believe anyone on the plane survive, but no one on -- survived, but no one on the ground is hurt. and a man chaining himself on top of a water slide in an effort to save a business he says he spent years building. jim armstrong takes a closer look at thinks fight. >> reporter: it is a 30 foot

michael hinds is accused of running jarrad arrone's truck off the road and he had three children. his fiancee still can't believe he's gone. >> i need to keep jarrad's memory alive. he was an awesome guy, and this man has destroyed our family. he's really, really hurt my family. >> the police report says when they arrested hinds, he told officers "i smashed into someone, it's not like i killed someone." this was hinds' third arrest influence. a small victory for fast the statehouse. the committee approving a bill last night that would raise the minimum wage for some restaurant workers to $15 an hour. it would only apply to companies with more than 200 years. the bill still needs approval of the full house and senate as well as governor charlie similar fast food protests took

can get, absolutely, bree. we've got the rain and wind, so it is a double whammy in terms of weather impact. the rain's going to fill in for us for a time this morning and continue as showers this afternoon. it's 50 in boston right now. the temperatures are going to stay steady. we've got downpours here from shirley stretching pack up on the east side of groton to tyngsboro and you're getting into the heavy rain and deeper yellows and oranges there. so hampstead back down to haverhill, light to moderate pockets that extend to the new hampshire seacoast. hampton beach right now, yeah, light rain, drizzle and it gets steadier then when you get back down near the cape cod canal all the way from mashpee stretching up along route 6 barnstable and towards yarmouth as well. light rain extends to the outer cape. where do we go from here? it will still be pockets of rain right through the morning

hours. hours. any veterans day plans you have will be a soggy, chilly feel afternoon and staying cloudy and cool right on through the evening hours, though it will be drier at that point. so your hour by hour forecast. temperatures cool off a couple of degrees and stay in the 40s of the evening. we've got wind out there, too, be widespread damage, pamela, the coastline too. >> especially once we get into the afternoon and after the sunrises, that will mix some of the area. right now, wind advisory until 7:00 p.m. winds could gust between 40 and 60 miles per hour. currently, they are 20 to 30 miles per hour in most spots. the wind coming from the northeast and the wind gusts will continue to be strong 9:00 a.m. we'll go through hour by hour through noon and you can see 30

to 40 mile-per-hour gusts on the cape and islands 3:00 p.m. pushing the 50 mile-per-hour mark. we'll continue to keep gusty winds around through 7:00 p.m. at that point in time, the winds will start to subside. as we head through the day, danielle, we have more rain coming in. >> we have a tiny break in the action as we head into overnight tonight. tomorrow morning is going to be dry, and then the next front approaches. this will be responsible for severe weather today and the central united states. for us, leftover showers tomorrow. they do arrive west to east in the afternoon. they will be scattered in nature. tomorrow evening's dry may be messy with pockets of rain and clearing comes in after that. friday, we come up to around 60. it will be a dry day friday into saturday. look at this snow friday into early on saturday morning. accuweather seven-day forecast for us. not a bad fall weekend. a little on the cool side, breezy on 50 on saturday.

training because of the growing epidemic in the area. he trained in the use of narcan last wednesday, a drug that can help revive someone who has overdosed on heroin. two days later, he put the training into action when he stopped for food at a mcdonald's and found a woman suffering from an overdose inside. >> to tell you the truth, i was a little scared because i'm fresh out of that training, but i went in and ended up doing my training, and it worked. >> you have the ability to get trained in narcan. that takes a half hour, and you can save someone's life with a simple tool. >> in most cases, the training is free through community health centers. then for a small co-pay, you can get a dose of nasal narcan -- nasal narcan to carry with you. and as part of a $78 million renovation, the library plans to add an all-day cafe to its copley square location and wgbh will build a satellite
