from the south side of plymouth back through sandwich and borne through buzzards bay and through the outer cape right now, truro, wellfleet. there's a wet start along route 6 as well. it shows the general trend. pockets of rain this morning. tapering off with scattered showers and staying cloudy through the evening hours. i wouldn't even be surprised to see breaks of sunshine. gusty wind, too, nor'easter. that wind coming in off the ocean. we'll continue to be strong throughout the day and temperatures gradually fall to the 40s. good morning, robi. good morning. something tells me we'll be busy today with this rainy, wind swept ride. the poor traffic camera lens is soaked already. no reported backups. the rest of the major routes to the south of looking good.

their next debate is saturday night at 9:00 in des moines, iowa. you can see that debate right here on wbz. this morning, there are new questions about uber and how comprehensive its background checks really are. >> reporter: this after a man accused of dragging two police officers with his car worked for uber. susie steimle is live in boston this morning with more. good morning, susie. >> reporter: good morning. we're in front of uber's headquarters in boston. to be clear, bryant gilbert was not an uber driver when this arrest took place on sunday between those two boston police officers who were dragged by his car. you might remember that surveillance video. we'll live give you a look at it now. the officers tried to pull him over in mattapan. he refused to turn over his car -- pull over his car and dragged it the two police officers and hit a park car. gilbert appeared in court charged with assault and

battery with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest. he did plead not guilty to both charges and has since been held. this isn't his first go round. he had a criminal background, according to a couple of sources that he had the criminal charges on his record when he started driving for uber. of course the posten taxi drivers association is now saying this highlights the lack of background checks that the ride services like uber and lyft need to increase. they say if he was flagged to be a taxi driver in boston, he never would have gotten a job. susie steimle, wbz news. the attorney general ordering fantasy sites to shut down and stop accepting bets immediately. the attorney jeb said a month long investigation found that boston-based draftkings and its rival site fan duel are games of chance not skill, and of this, they are considered

illegal gambling. fan duel insists its games are legal. draftkings says it's pursuing legal options. medford police arrest a man they say pointed a fake gun in the case of road rage. police say a driver on 93 called to say a man pointed a weapon at her and drove off. she followed his car until a medford officer stopped him and arrested him. the 20-year-old had a replica gun with an orange tip that was painted plaque tomorrow morning. -- painted black tomorrow morning. and the deadly small plane crash in ohio. two pilots and tension passengers were on -- two pilots and seven passengers were on board. it's unclear how the plane lost control but it clipped electrical wires. it's not believed any of the nine people on board survived, but no one was hurt on the ground. it's being called the

in u.s. history. three israeli men charged with hacking into jpmorgan chase are firms. a total of $100 million people are possibly affected in the hack dating back to 2007. prosecutors say the trio had illegal work in pumping up stock prices and bit coin exchanges. a small victory for past food workers. a committee approved a bill that would raise the mix wage of some restaurant workers to $15 an hour. it would apply to companies with more than 200 people and would be phased in over three years. the bill still needs approval from the house and senate as well as governor charlie baker. similar fast food protests took towns nationwide. a new hampshire water park

take it slow. haverhill from 495 to hampton, we have pockets of moderate rain. steadier rain on the cape and islands all the way from the south side of plymouth and back near sandwich. a few downpours and heavier elements from barnstable towards hyannis and yarmouth and mashpee as well. this may be overdone, but you get the idea. the rain could kin at times through the mid to late morning and taker off through early afternoon. at least drier for the second half of the day. i wouldn't be surprised to see an inland break of sunshine before the sun sets this afternoon and evening. we'll get another round of showers and the wint wind has been another -- the wind has been certainly not damaging. >> more of an anowance if anything. the wind will become strong

currently there is a wind advisory information until 7:00 -- in effect until 7:00. current gusts between 20 and 30 miles per hour. 38 mile-per-hour gusts right off the ocean there. a northeast wind giving us the name of a nor'easter. for the rest of the day here, especially afternoon, we'll see the winds gusting between 35 and 50 miles per hour right on the tip of cape ann as well as cape cod and the islands. we'll continue to keep you posted on the winds later on today. tomorrow, thankfully you are not dealing with the wind, danielle, but the rain. >> and another front comes in and we'll debt a break in the action. tonight, tomorrow -- we'll get a break in the action tonight and tomorrow. then scattered shower activity. you'll want to have the umbrella handy again tomorrow. the showers come through quickly but will impact your thursday evening commute. then we get clearing that comes in thursday night. friday looks like a beautiful

both officers were okay after the incident. before. >> the gop candidates spar over the investigation. ohio governor kasich needed a strong performance, and he delivered. he took on trump and his immigration policy saying it was silly to ship millions out of the country. analysts also said jeb bush needed a strong performance but didn't necessarily deliver. they'll debate again next month giving more opportunities to discuss the issues. this morning, jon keller takes a look at which candidates shine the most. >> reporter: good morning. if you like the idea of raising the minimum wage well beyond its current level, the republicans on stage at last night's debate probably aren't for you. the three candidates who address that issue, donald trump, ben carson, and marco rubio insisted doing so would cost jobs and leave american business uncompetitive with overseas competitors. the way they expressed their views gave useful information about who they are.

the ladder from humble origins says the focus should be of other way as louing people to duplicate his feat "rather than give them everything and keep them dependent." rubio kicked off a sense of opportunities creating alternatives. morning. russia is banning all flights to egypt for the next several months following last month's deadly plane crash. on friday, president putin suspended flights citing security concerns. the timetable wasn't clear then. evidence appears to show a bomb took down the russian metro jet plane killing 221 people on board. threats against the university of missouri prompt increased security overnight. it is the site of increasing protests over the last week about the way racist incidents have been handled. on monday, university system prison tim wolfe resigned. most of the threats came in through social media. one was posted to the messaging service yik yak saying they would stand their ground and shoot every black person they might see. twin rivers is looking to build erika seen know and hotel
