kathryn hauser who is under . weather. >> she she was a little under the weather yesterday so i'm glad she's home. >> get some vitamin c in her. >> it will be a chilly, raw veterans day. generally light for the most part. the roads are wet. we'll get road spray kicking up. keep in mind, with the roads out there, the leaves are out there and when they get wet, they get a little slick. rain coming down at a good clip. lighter in intensity but back up through the marry make valley haverhill, brentwood as well add over to the new hampshire seacoast. we'll get light rain, drizzle, and mist. downpours right over buzzards bay traveling over route 6, 128, chatham as well. this may be a little overdone but pockets of rain continue through late morning tapering off the showers through the

there will still be pockets of drizzle left over at the coastline. the wind is quite gusty. the wind coming off of the ocean numerous gusts. temperatures staying steady and may fall by a couple of degrees with leftover showers through the afternoon. traffic and weather together, robi. how's it looking out there? >> very light volume because of the holiday but that doesn't mean drive faster. just getting word of a situation. fuel spill in woburn. 93 northbound at commerce way. right now, we're keeping an eye on the mass pike. just before the prue tunnel there. then we had an earlier accident in haverhill where a car has spun out. the only reported problem is the expressway. that's heavy and slow from granite ave. up to columbia road.

there are new questions about how uber does its comprehensive background checks and how comprehensive those really are. >> those after published reports report a man dragging two police officers with his car worked for uber. susie? >> reporter: good morning, bree and chris. to be clear, bryantant driving for uber the night the accident with the officers occurred built he was fired by the company a couple of weeks before. you might remember the surveillance video that's been on our air over the past couple of days in which two boston police officers were dragged. they say pint gilbert was pulled over. they asked him to turn off his vehicle, and he refused to do so and dragged them several hundred feet and crashed into a parked car. both officers were taken to the hospital with nonlife- threatening injuries. then gilbert was in court on monday charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.

he did plead not guilty to those charges, but this isn't his first go round with any sort of criminal driving history. before he was hired for uber, he had multiple motor vehicle infractions and had been accused of selling cocaine in the past. the boston taxi drivers association says this just highlights the ride-sharing checks. they say if he had applied for a job with them, he never would have been hired. susie steimle, wbz this morning. police arrested a man they say pointed a fake gun in the case of road rage. police say a driver on 93 called to say a man pointed a weapon at her and drove off. she followed the car until a medford officer stopped him and arrested him. police say the 20-year-old had a replica gun with the orange tip painted black. he'll be arraigned in somerville tomorrow morning. new york's attorney

sites to shut down and stop accepting bets immediately. the attorney general said a month long investigation found boston-based draftkings and rival site fan duel are games of chance not skill and therefore are illegal gambling. draftkings says they are pursuing legal options. and facing off in the latest presidential debate. one of the candidates will be campaigning this morning. >> reporter: good morning to you as well. the top eight republican candidates faced off in milwaukee last night. for the most part, sticking to the issues and some even defending their character. in a debate on the fox business network, minimum wage is the starting topic for the top eight republican candidates. >> taxes too high, wages too high. we're not going to be able to

it is 6:06. the democrats will take center stage this weekend. the next debate is saturday iowa. a scare outside of the white house last night. the secret service arrested a the north fence. the man face as salt and weapons charges. federal investigators will be on the scene of a deadly small plane crash in ohio. two pilots and seven passengers were on board the plane when it hit an apartment building in akron, ohio tuesday afternoon. it's not clear how the plane lost control but it clipped electional wires on its way down and hit the building and embankment. investigators do not believe anyone on the plane survived. no one on the ground was hurt. a woman whose fiancee was killed in a road rage crash says she's committed to keeping his memory alive.

crash pleaded not guilty to the charges including drunk driving. arrone had three children and his fiancee says she still can't believe he's gone. >> reporter:: i need to keep jarrad's memory alive. this man has destroyed my family, and he's really, really hurt my family. >> according to the police report, when hinds was arrested, he told officers "i smashed into someone. it's not like i killed someone." it is it a small victory for fast food workers as they rallied at the statehouse. the committee will raise minimum wage to $15 april hour. it would only apply to companies of more than 200 people, and it would be phased in over three years. the bill still needs approval from the house and senate as well as governor charlie baker.

continue through late morning and eventually taper off through the afternoon and drizzle it he coastline as well. a much drier evening with cloudy skies. could even be a late daybreak of sunshine. the wind's been an issue, too pamela, gusting at the coastline. >> yep, already getting wind speeds out there. the wind advisory technically in for cape ann, the north shore, the cape and the gusts are ten 40 and 50 miles per hour from the north and east. that's why we get the name nor'easter out there. wind gusts between 30 and 40 miles per hour and thousand we have 39mph there. and later it could gust up to shaded in red. the outer cape is especially getting the brunt of that. the wind hoping to churn up the seas a little bit. high tide around 10:40 this morning. be aware, we'll continue to keep you updated all throughout twitter, facebook, et cetera

over the next 24 hours, we have another system moving in. not necessarily with the wind but more rain danielle. >> another round of showers during the day tomorrow. action. morning. no weather-related issues, but showers move in scattered in evening. so your evening commute tomorrow will be impacted with areas of showers and light rain for the most part. our north. friday looks like a nice end to the week. it will be breezy but up around 60. friday night into saturday morning, the snow showers in the mountains of northern new england. so snow lovers, winter lovers, a couple of inches in the summit of the northern green mountains. northern white mountains into new hampshire where you are waking up to a little bit of snow on saturday morning. nor us, we're talking sunshine. 50 on saturday.

upper 50s to low 60s by the start of next week. robi? we have a couple of accidents coming if right now. there is a crash on route 1 northbound in revere just after the revere beach parkway, the left lane is blocked there. the fuel spill is up in woburn at commerce way. no word yet on what caused the spill or any lane closure up there yet. we have a crash down in bridgewater 24 southbound after 495. and south, the expressway is sluggish up to columbia road. 24 north boggs down between randolph and 128. a water park owner chaining himself to the top of a water slide here in an effort to save his business that he says he spent years building up. we take a closer look.

right now on your wednesday morning, the fourth republican presidential debate is in the books. >> jon keller looks at which candidate stood out. >> reporter: good morning. if you like the idea of raising the minimum wage well beyond this current level, the republicans on stage of last night's debate probably aren't for you. donald trump, ben carson and marco rubio insisted that doing so would cost jobs and leave american business uncompetitive with overseas competitors. the way they expressed their views gave you useful information about who they are. carson who fought his way up the ladder from humble origins said the focus should be on allowing people to duplicate his feet heather than give them

rubio kicked off alternatives including more emphasis on vocational education. "welders make more money than philosophers." trump offered simple advice from a man who made it with nothing but a million dollar steak from his father. "people have to go out and work really hard if they want to get into that yumer stratum." trump's plan without documentation was trashed without kasich who called the idea "silly not an cult in depail. trump's response? company worth billions. i don't have to hear this." for trump believers, last night was likely more affirmation.

coming from the northeast. that's why we're calling it a nor'easter here. it's the strongest ate this time in plymouth. gusts could push 50 miles per hour especially for our friends on the outer cape. by 7:00 p.m., the winds are still an issue, but not quite as strong and then the whole system moves out. we also have a little bit of a minor splashover concern, too, with that wind so the northeast facing beaches getting that minor splashover. high tide, by the way, 10:40 a.m. this has nothing to do with hurricane kate, danielle, but we want to show you where this is headed next. >> interesting, right, pamela? hurricane season goes through the end of november. we've got a hurricane. category 1. kate has 73 mile- per-hour winds right now. it's strengthened over the last 24 hours. here's bermuda. our weather doesn't have to do with that, but we are tracking another round of wet weather toll.
