weeks braving the elements: this noon, we have our eye on the storm. let's look at the rainy live look over boston right now. we have been dealing with showers for most of the day. so far, good afternoon. thank you for joining us. i'm chris mckinnon. the rain seems to be winding down. right, but the winds still gusting out there. and danielle niles is here. when will this all end and how long of a break will we have? >> and we get a break tonight and tomorrow morning. the next round moves in. the storm center, love this visible shot here and that is south and east of nantucket. we're dealing with pockets of rain and the wind is strong out there. the wind advisory is up until 7:00 p.m. for eastern essex county into the south shore and cape. and gusts gusting to 50 miles an hour and that wind is shifting around out of the north and for a lot of spots. north-northeast on the cape and islands, shy of 40 miles an hour in province town to nantucket and that is piling up the scenes there and with that

this weekend. their next debate is saturday night at nine between des moines, iowa and you can watch it here on wbz. the arrest of a man accused of dragging two boston police officers is now raising questions about the safety of brian gilbert worked for uber in the past but fired a few weeks before the incident, according to the company. gilbert has a lengthy driving record and criminal history, including serving time for selling cocaine. uber said that gilbert was only with them for a short time and was fired when they found out about his fast. -- his past. the boston taxi driver's association said this highlights the lack of background checks done by companies like lift and uber. police arrest a man they say pointed a fake gun in the case of road rage. a driver called to say a man drove off. she followed the car until a and arrested him.

a replica gun with the orange tip painted black. he'll be arraigned in sommerville tomorrow morning. the family of a man killed in a road rage crash came face- to-face with the driver charged in that crash. a norton man pleaded no the guilty to drunk driving charges. michael heinz ran jared oroney's truck off of the road on thursday and the fiance can't believe he's gone. >> and i need to keep his memory alive. he was -- some guy and this man has destroyed my family and this is really, really hurting my family. >> reporter: when officers arrested heinz who you see here, he said, quote, i smashed into someone and it's not like i killed someone. this is his third arrest for driving under the influence. and right now at noon, a new hampshire water park owner remains chained to his business after spending the night in the cold.
