weekend incident happened during a traffic stop. >> driver officers briefly drove for uber just a few months ago. this ought to be a wake up call. >> reporter: surveillance video shows cops being dragged by an suv. brian gilbert stands charged with assault and battery. uber says he was removed from their system. while he was not anuber driver when the dragging happened, he did briefly drive for the company. driver's association. >> if you get in a car you of an uber driver you are putting your trust in uber saying this driver is safe. >> reporter: that is because checks. while taxi drivers are vetted

we were able to get gilbert's driving record in just a couple of hours. show as long history of offenses. the boston globe reports he also did time for drug possession. we asked uber why gilbert was listed as a descrive mer the first place since the company told us they checked his background. a spokeswoman would only say they are looking into that and added mr. gilbert drove with uber for a short period of time. he has not had access to the platform for several weeks now. we are continuing adding to the way we build safety into the uber experience. cab association says gilbert would never have been allowed to drive taxi. >> it is possible to have a hackney license and have any kind of criminal infrom fraction or serious driving record. >> reporter: calling on the

tonight's temperatures low 40s. some areas of fog will begin to develop. next thing to watch storm system tonight is in the middle of the country in iowa. tornadoes reported. just outside the des moines airport. snow on the backside. this thing is going to move so fast it brings us rain showers by lunchtime tomorrow. looking at mostly cloudy skies overnight and mostly cloudy skies tomorrow. a little bit of sun here and there. timing out those showers by midday starting to see a few of them working their way and in throughout the afternoon and tomorrow evening, scattered showers and downpour. not expecting thunder and lightning with these. it will be a very november like day. which shouldn't be too surprising. perhaps upper 50s toward cape cod and the island. as we head toward friday, another disturbance.
