like a real gun to a woman on 93. good afternoon i'm chris mckinnon. once they caught up with the man, they found something very troubling. and court just wrapped up. what happened inside? >> reporter: we just saw him. but he's being held on another case too. this is another case that brought us here today of a fake trouble. it is 20-year-old -- of charlestown that just appeared in court a couple moments ago. but it is what the police found on him that has in so much trouble. this is a fake gun that looked somerville. she stayed him and helped the police track him down after she said he waved this gun at her in a threatening manner. they did find the fake gun with

the tip of it previously around painted black. and this comes after a press conference on monday in which the mayor walsh signed an ordinance saying it is illegal to have any fake gun in public in which the orange tip has been painted black. so i told you earlier, he has been housed. because of an earlier case. if it was just a fake gun case, they would have walked him out of here. but a case in may in which he's accused of hurting someone at work. a patron said that he plant about food and punched person in the face. we're live if somerville. update. i appreciate it. a pipeline protest ends with more than a dozen arrests, among them grandmothers. the group held up construction on the spectra energy pipeline

this morning. they are oppose to the project that will create a natural gas pipeline in west roxbury. it is a gloomy day out there. and we'll switch gears right now. and we'll take a live look over the city of boston. and you've been taking it for the last couple of days, midday showers moving in. there's a little drizzle and touch of patchy fog out there too. and the rain has had a little more steam back to the west. and we had light showers out here. and 48 degrees in boston and most of us in the upper 40s with showers pushing from gilford, new hampshire down 91 into green field right now. and they're all lifting to the north and east and a couple light showers over cape cod right now and stretching into falmouth too. they are more of a nuisance than anything. and a couple showers on the

medfield and 495 too. expect some scattered showers over the next few hours and they may become a little more widespread in the evening commute too. and notice a pockets of rain and a few downpours. and still a leftover shower north of boston. and the temperatures will continue to rise and it will be slowly through the rest of day today and partial clearing and dropping into the 40s overnight. and we get sunshine tomorrow and it will be quite windy and gusts over 40 miles an hour in the cape and the islands. looking forward to a little bit of sun. dating danger. boston police issuing a warning to people that use on line dating sites and apps.

six people have been robed from a so-called catfishing scheme. they urge potential matches to meet them at their home. >> i would never meet anyone that i was not certain of who they were in a remote area or in a excluded area. -- secluded area. >> scammers often use an attractive profile picture. and they will not skype or use a web cam to chat and the profile may appear new or incomplete. a trooper is back at home after getting out of the hospital after a bad crash after a wrong-way driver hit him. >> reporter: troopers were trying to prevent other motorists from coming in contact with the wrong-way driver and the that is what the crash happened. 11:30 wednesday night, route 6, a 911 call bruce the

here, reports of a wrong-way driver. they were traveling west. and the unidentified elderly man crashed into the cruiser. and he had a medical condition that caused this. and the trooper and the 80-year- old were both taken to cape cod hospital, treated and released. but minor injuries in this case and because of two troopers' actions, the situations with not worse. the elderly driver will have his license revoked and he's been summoned to court on charges related to the crash. nichole jacobs, wbz news. a former police officer in new hampshire will be sentenced today for this assault caught on surveillance camera. he pleaded guilty to slamming the head of a suspect into the wall of the sea brook police station in 2009.

the state is recommending a one- year sentence with all of 21 days suspended as long as he seeks treatment. a man will undergo carrying a hatchet. man. and they learned that he was a veteran and thanked him for his service that was enough for him to drop the weapon and be taken to a near ambulance. the man will face assault charges. in revere, a craigslist ad leads to a robbery he answered an ad for a pair of sneakers. but when he showed up, he was robbed at gunpoint. one person was arrested but the police are still searching for another suspect.

we'll get some winds tomorrow on the backside of that storm. but a couple downpours around and there's a little fog out there. look at the live shot over the city of boston. low clouds and a little rain about to move in right now. 48 in boston. and there are some areas of light showers into metro west now the and a little broken line of them southwest new hampshire back down, 145 and 28. the temperatures for most of us are in the mid-to upper 40s. a little light rain right now exiting out of the lower connecticut river valley. a couple spritses coming over the cape cod canal. a couple wet spots along route 6. and this extends back to the 128 belt approaching the city of boston back to medfield and denim and a little light rain. no oranges or anything like that over us right now. there is back to the west in connecticut. so we'll get into a little steadier shower activity and

some downpours as we head into the evening. and visibility okay for some of us. look at wooster right now, a quarter mile visibility with fog. and the temperatures, even though in the 40s right now, will continue to rise right on through the evening hours ahead of the front. so it is a gradual process through the course of the evening with additional showers through the evening drive. and if you zoom out the view, and you'll see the showers' back to the west in connecticut and a few in pennsylvania. look at the big counterclockwise spin. it is still snowing right now in parts of northern wisconsin and minnesota. that gusty wind behind it too. you'll feel it tomorrow. morning. but we see wind gusts over 40 miles an hour. this is not just along the coast but across the board there could be a late day sprinkle.

rain showers change to snow showers in western new england. saturday a lot of sunshine but a gusty breeze. sunday looks like the pick of the two weekend days because the winds will be a little lighter and sunshine and building clouds in the late afternoon. right now and afternoon scattered showers. 7:00 and 10:00, there may be some downpours embedded in there. and then clearing after that. for the ski lovers and snow lovers, in northern new england, friday night into saturday. up and down the spine of the green mountain, the mountains ever new hampshire and maine, we're talking about a couple inches, possible. some could see three to four inches at the summit and also in the white mountains as well. tonight, 40s for most of us. 48 in boston and about 50 on the cape and the islands. kids will need the jacket tomorrow.
