terrorist act brought down the passenger plane that crashed in egypt last month. the head of russia's security service says the home made explosive device blew up that plane. all 224 people on board, most of them russian tourists, were killed. a health crisis for a new england patriot and his family. nate solder just announced that his 4-month-old son has cancer. here is a picture of hudson born in july and diagnosed with a tumor in his kidneys last month. the little guy has already undergone several rounds of chemotherapy. he made the announcement last night then tweeted out a picture of his son saying "thank you, everyone. support the joe andruzzi foundation. god is better than we can imagine." the patriots' left tackle overcame cancer last year and we're praying that his son

a thief stole high-powered weapons from a worcester armiry. it took the thief five hours to load 16 weapons into the car. police are hoping initial surveillance cameras can give is. >> especially concerned about it separate and apart from anything that has to do with terrorism, but high powered weapons were stolen from the place. >> police will step up patrols in key areas of the city. we've learned that the alarm construction. the mother of colleen ritzer will take the stand

phillip chyz imstalked and attacked his math teacher. his lawyers hinted at an insanity defense admitting that he killed ritzer but claimed he had an undiagnosed psychotic disorder. >> i canned him if he knew where the girl was. >> what did he tell you? >> he stated that she was buried in the woods. >> i asked if we can get there can we help her? >> and what did he tell you? >> he said, no. >> chism was 14 years old at the time of the murders and he's being tried as an adult. a school employee was the victim of an attempted robbery. a staff member was not hurt. officers will be outside to make sure students and staff are safe. today, the new hampshire attorney general is expected to release new information about four bodies never identified. a hunter found two of the bodies in a metal drum in allenstown in 1985.

the other bodies were discovered 15 years later. the remains belong to three girls and a woman. the fbi and other law enforcement agencies will take part in today's news conference. betting sites and fan duel just got hit with a big setback in new york. last night, a judge denied the request for a restraining order that would have allowed the company to keep operating in the state. the attorney general there says the companies are running illegal gambling sites. an emergency hearing is set for next week. new this morning, there are just two undefeated teams left in the nfl. the cincinnati bengals suffered their first loss last night losing 10-6 to the houston, texans on monday night football. that leaves just the panel theirs and patriots with perfect records. as for the patriots, julian edleman is recovering from surgery with his broken left foot.

jill wagner joins us live with today's money watch. good morning, jill. kathryn. hotel chain. it's a deal that makes it the largest hotel company by far. analysts say the marriott and rewards guest programs will likely combine that could give travelers more options. google is taking on yelp and trip advisor with the google maps and features. it's been around for a while. goingle is offering incentives for users to write reviews and add photos. each time you contribute, you could earn points and earn one tb of google drive story. urban outfitters is buying restaurants.

one day below average this month. it has been warm. yesterday included. we hit 61 degrees in boston briefly. so we are 8 degrees above the average. we take the morning low and afternoon highs, but overall, the month of november, 6.7 degrees above average so far. today will end up being a below average day. we're at 34 degrees in boston right now with widespread 20s. 24 in concord, new hampshire. 25 in burlington, vermont. notice it doesn't matter where you go from northern new coast. 28 in taunton and lower 40s on the cape and islands right now. we have a couple of scattered clouds. otherwise, skies are clear and today. beautiful day. on the cooler side. at the same time, we're tracking severe weather. weather yesterday. in fact, some of the video comes back to us from oklahoma and kansas.

there's also some snow in parts of the midwest. look at this tornado, you guys, just ripping through. this is from yesterday in grain field, kansas. that funnel was whirling on the ground and the area had been under a tornado warning. nonetheless, there were at least 40 reports of tornadoes yesterday and the national weather service will be out there. strong damage and winds, hail, and heavy rain were a part of this system as well. as you look at the satellite and radar, it's the same areas today that are under the gun, too. right now, fort worth is a tornado warning currently in effect. this same disturbance will bring us wet weather by the time we get to late on thursday. so today's fine. high pressure is building in. temperatures are in the upper 40s this afternoon. heading into wednesday, it will be milder around 50 degrees with sunshine to start. the clouds will really start to increase wednesday night. thursday morning, we start with clouds.

the biggest threat comes in, in the evening. rain advancing through eastern new york will arrive west to eat but not until the late evening for a lot of us. we may be able to squeeze out a dry evening commute. the steadiest rain comes through late thursday evening. high temperatures today, 45 to 50. overnight today, similar to this morning. accuweather seven-day forecast, mid-50s with evening showers again on thursday. some of that will linger into friday more than with a wet start and gradually rain and snow will come in. back to you. >> all right. thank you very much, danielle. it is 4:47 right now. it is decision day this morning. state education officials will choose which standardized test to go with. >> we have a few options to choose from. bree has a closer look. >> reporter: at 8:30 this moring in malden, the board of education will make a decision

on how kids are tested. standardized testing is a cop tenious issue -- contentious issue but some of it has sparked protest called the p.a.r.k. test that's being used in other states. it is administered on computers and could cost $15 million for massachusetts to implement. option two is to keep the mcas in tact. kids are well acquainted with this. it's been a graduation requirement since 2003. then the recently third option, develop the mcas 2.0 that would be writtenly local education leaders. this has been a two-year long debate. the education commissioner is recommending the mcas 2.0. chris, back to you. >> thank you very much. 4:48 right now. the t says it will no long area lou ads dealing with politics or hotly debated issues after some riders were offended by an

ad in the subway. the ad in davis square in somerville says "the u.s. government should stop sending military aid to israel." it's sponsored by the pro palestinian group. the mbta removed them last year but allowed them to return after the aclu got involved. >> we think that's something everyone benefits from but this benefits the community to matter. >> the t says its policy will change. making money on your drive in to work? uber could make a reality. the ride-sharing service is rolling out a new service that would allow you to pick up people as you head in to work and do the same thing for the evening commute. it's being tested this week in san francisco. all you do is put in your work destination and it finds people heading your way. you can always decline a ride if you are running late or it's too far away.

service says that a home made explosive device blew up the plane. all 224 people on board, mostly russian tourists, were killed. a legal setback for a friend of aaron hernandez. a judge denied earnest wallace's bid to throw out probable cause against him. he argued there wasn't probable cause to try him but the judge disagreed. hernandez is serving a life prison sentence. investigators are trying to figure out why this cargo ship sunk. the el faro went down on october 1st during hurricane we keen. 33 people including more than a dozen from new england or half dozen from new england, rather, were killed when the ship sank. saugus police uncover a treasure trove of stolen sports memorabilia. jerseys autographed by stars

they identified the security video and uncovered everything that was stolen. in other news, the plain ridge casino isn't doing as well as people hoped. revenue is down from $389 million in slot machine revenue in july to 277 million in october. the casino is expected to pull in 176 million in its first year of operation. that's about $24 million less than the state had hoped. a big announcement expected this morning from actor charlie sheen. he is expected to reveal that he's hiv positive. according to tmz, he's expected to say he's had hiv for years but that he's now free of the virus. if you haven't had your morning coffee yet, you may want to start brewing a cup now. the java lovers who drank three to five cups a day had a 15%
