they are looking for the so- called mastermind in paris. instead of recoiling, isis issued a bold warning that they are planning a similar operation right here in the u.s. threatening to bring mayhem to our nation's capital if air strikes continue. the president says we should not put large numbers of boots on the ground. secretary of state john kerry arrived in paris. not evenly the journalists traveling with him could report the visit. today, he'll meet with the french president. syria's government is rounding up dozens of suspected extremists&deporting them, but they have yet to find this man, believed to have rented one of

the remains belong to three girls and one woman. investigators believe the woman is related to at least two of the girls. the fbi and other law enforcement agencies will reveal more. susie has more on a heartbreaking story. >> reporter: nate solder made this devastating announcement last night. he says his son hudson who is only a couple of months old has a tumor on his kidney and is currently being treated at boston children's hospital. not long after the announcement was made, this picture started circulating on twitter of the little guy. his shirt reads "tough like my

it's still an active wind so it's coming out of the northeast. when the wind stays strong, it tends to keep the atmosphere micked up a lit. we've got snow flying in colorado this morning. blizzard warnings are up again. there's moisture coming out of the gulf, severe weather ongoing from yesterday and continuing this morning in parts of oklahoma and kansas. this disturbance will eventually play a role in our weather for thursday. for now, high pressure will today. the winds are not all that strong. for wednesday, we start with sunshine and wend up with clouds by the evening hours. looking right around 50 degrees tomorrow. by thursday, we debt clouds in the more than -- we get clouds in the morning and they'll thick be up. i can't rule out a scattered

the steadiest rain will still be to our west. that will slowly advance in during the evening hours. so we may, depending on the exact timing be able to squeeze out a mostly dry commute before the steadiest rain moves in. it looks like some of the rain may linger into early friday morning. port. middle to upper 40s out over near 50. metro west is stretching back over the route 2 corridor. once again, we drop into the 20s and 30s. 27 in fitch. about 35 in boston. highs tomorrow, a little bit milder than today. actually ends up being a normal day in terms of temperatures. either side of 50 degrees for most of us. mid-50s on thursday. friday 58. that high will be in the morning. then temperatures will fall into the 40s gradually through the day. sunday maybe a rain or snow shower in the morning.

will make a decision on how kids are tested. one of the three options they are considering has sparked protests when implemented in other parts of the country. it's called the p.a.r.k. test that's being used in other states. it's administered on computers and could cost $15 million for massachusetts to implement. option 2, keep the mcas in tact. it's been a graduation requirement in 2003 and kids get that one, right? the recently added third option is to develop the mcas 2.0, which would merge the two. it would be a test just for massachusetts developed by local education leaders. this is a 2 year long debate. the education commissioner recommends the mcas 2.0. developers have filed a new plan for a pair of skyscrapers to be added near the government center garage. one of the towers would be for

the other would be an office tower. the developer hopes to break ground sometime next year. the t says it will no longer allow ads dealing with politics or hotly debated issues after some of the riders were offended by an ad in the subway. the ad says "the u.s. government should stop selling military aced to israel." it's response bird a pro palestinian group. the mbta removed similar ads but allowed them to return after the aclu got involved. >> we think that's something everyone benefits from, but this is something that contributes to the community to discuss political issues that matter. >> the current contract calls for seven similar ads next month. after that the t says its policy will change. still to come in our next half hour, more on the terror attacks in paris. >> the new air strike against isis and the latest on the investigation into the deadly attacks.

slowdown right now, 93 southbound between pelham street and 495 up in the methuen stretch. 5:32 right now. french presidentfrance's president just wrapped up a meeting with secretary of state john kerry to discuss how to battle isis. meantime, overnight, the french military launched new air strikes in syria. the country is demanding security aid and assistance from the european union in the wake of the deadly paris attacks. governors of 27 states, including massachusetts governor charlie baker say they don't want to allow syrian refugees to come into their state. president obama says the u.s. has to do its part in accepting refugees. the federal government says refugees are scrutinized. governor baker says he needs to see evidence. this morning, jon keller takes a closer look at the

>> as he argues, the reaction facts. >> reporter: good morning. it is a familiar cycle. a frightening event occurs overseas and suddenly anyone from the country involved is suspect. their entry into our country viewed with suspicion or some cases anger. as i wrote this, 16 governors had called on the feds to back off their plan to accept thousands of refugees from the syrian civil war in the wake of reports that one or more of the paris murderers may have been part of that migration. the skeptics aren't the only ones playing familiar roles. at least one newspaper editorial i saw suggested the demands for clarity on the refugee screening process to avoid letting in any bad guys was knee jack partisan republican "grandstanding." well that theory held up for a matter of minutes until democratic governor maggie

the same position. there's no question many, if not all of these governors, are responding as much to the immediate public reaction and its political implications as to the facts about who the refugee are, it's also true imperfect science. tamerlan tsarnaev was given a thorough screening by the fbi in 2011 after the russians raised a flag about him. extreme reactions based on emotion and fear rather than facts are never a good idea. if we want our allies to lead the wore on isis, the least we can do is help them deal with the syrian refugee crisis. reasonable caution to prevent infiltration by violent radicals is not an out-of-line request. we'll be much better off in the long run if both sides of this one kept their knee jerking in check. agree or disagree?

there's actually two tornado warnings now. this is the same system north east of dallas. this is also in brian, texas. there are also severe thunderstorms that extend back up to oklahoma and new hampshire as well. this is all with the disturbance. on the backside, it's bringing snow to parts of western nebraska and colorado this morning with near zero visibility on the east i'd of denver. so the whole disturbance will slide east. 35 in boston right now. 25, though in nashua. most, though are, are colder. upper 20s lawrence to beverly. the wind is a little active. that helps to keep the atmosphere mixed up. ocean effect on the cape and islands as well. otherwise, skies are clear. we're in for bright sunshine during the day today. there is that disturbance that
