the big change is coming to our forecast. we're talking about rain. >> good morning, everybody. temperatures in the 40s in boston right now. dew point is 40 and the wind from the southeast at 12 miles per hour right now. there are a few 30s on the map built overall, most of us are much warmer most of us, though, running in the mid to low 40s. the clouds have moved in, but the rain is still to our west back through western new york and central pennsylvania. it would make slow eastward progress today. it's just a couple of showers between now and mid to late morning. it's during the early to mid- afternoon that we get steadier pockets of showers that we move into metro west. the farther east you come, there may be a band of some showers during your evening commute north of town. the south shore back down to

the cape staying dry when the steadiest rain moves in and then we'll fall heavily late tonight. 54 degrees with rain to our west, mainly dry in eastern massachusetts. we'll take you out through our friday and weekend, you guys. >> developing this morning, isis threatening to attack new york city releasing a video showing a bomb and images of manhattan. this chilling new video out of paris and the attack last week. surveillance shows a gunman shooting at customers in a restaurant. this comes just hours after a deadly raid in paris. >> and investigators are trying to confirm whether that killed the mastermind in the attack. good morning, bree. >> good morning, kathryn and chris. authorities wanted abdul hamid abaaoud, but he wasn't one of the eight arrested at the apartment being used as a

hideout. authorities are waiting for the results of dna testing on the two dead suspects to see if he was one of them. horrifying in its silence, the newly released video shows the paris restaurant attacked by terrorists last friday. in the security footage, you can see the gunman opening fire and then chaos as a shower of bullets and glass send people running for their lives. at one point, the gunman aimed at point blank range, but his gun misfires, and two women escape. then 4:00 wednesday morning, more gunfire. police shooting some 5,000 rounds during a siege on a paris suburb. during the raid, police say a woman blew herself up. three men naked in handcuffs rushed through the streets by police. they were a new team of

attack but thwarted by tapped phone calls and tip-offs. a new warning from the french prime minister. he says terrorists linked to those who carried out last week's attack might use chemical and biological weapons. he is urging parliament to send the state of emergency -- to extend the state of emergency. kathryn, back to you. >> bree, thank you very much. isis taking aim at new york city with a new video threat, but nypd said its city and people won't be intimidated. good morning, susie. >> reporter: good morning, kathryn. this threat comes one week before the macy's day thanksgiving parade. isis is releasing a video showing images of new york city. this is a propaganda video and believes some are old images in the video. you see what appears to be a bomb and images of times square.

police department says these are old images edited together to make it look like some sort of a news threat by isis. police maintain there is no specific credible threat to new york city at this point in time. regardless, law enforcement will continue to deploy additional counterterrorism teams in the coming days. mayor de blasio says continue to enjoy the greatest city in the world. >> we understand it is the dole of terrorists to -- the goal of terrorists to continue to disrupt our democratic society. we will not submit to their wishes. >> people can feel comfortable themselves, celebrate, be aware, but do not be afraid. >> reporter: the upcoming holiday traditions like the macy's thanksgiving day parade and tree lighting in rockefeller center attract york city. live in the satellite center,

susie steimle, wbz this morning. >> thank you for that. ices says this is what brought down a russian plane. it is a picture of a soda can, a wire, and what appears to be a switch. the terror group posted this picture in the english published magazine. russia confirmed it was, in fact, a bomb that brought down the plane in egypt killing all on board. russia is offering a $50 million reward for any information. a showdown in washington today over allowing syrian refugees into the u.s. the republican-led house is expected to pass a measure today increasing the screening of refugees and requiring fbi background checks. the white house says prime minister is threatening to veto it. donald trump using the anxiety over the paris attacks to push his own immigration policies at a campaign stop in worcester last night.

one carrying what appears to be her clothing. heartbreaking news for football star doug of heart attack. less than anhour later, his mother joan died of a sudden heart attack. flutie's parents were married for 56 years. flutie wrote "they say you can die of a broken heart, and i believe it." he also added "they were grandparents. both." nate solder opening up about his 4-month-old boy's kidney cancer diagnosis. >> my thought to go through this. i feel like i had done something wrong. i think a little bit feel like i wasn't able to protect him.

boston or from boston. hannah has today's money watch. good morning, hannah. of e busiest weeks, airport workers are striking. the airports are hubs for the major airlines. the workers want higher pay and the right to unionize. more than 2,000 cleaners, wheelchair attendants and baggage handlers are walking off the job. it's unclear how the strike will affect airport operations. the annuallist of hazardous toys are being released just before the holiday. the toy claws can faci injuries. the list includes a quick- folding trampoline that can cause anywheres during assembly. l.l. bean is scrambling to fill all of the orders for rubber duck boots.

the wind won't be a huge concern, but it will get a bit gusty tonight especially on the cape and islands. 30 to 40 mile-per-hour gusts on the south and east. this morning, it is a quiet start, and we aren't nearly as cold as we were 24 hours ago. we have a couple of upper 20s. 29 in taunton, 39 in nashua. most of us running in the lower to middle 40s. the sun comes up, and they are thin enough to get a touch of sunsne particularly before the clouds end up thickening up. high temperatures take most of the day to reach these numbers but it will manage to come into the mid to upper 50s. it just takes until the evening hours. you'll notice the leading edge back across our western new york and pennsylvania right now. this will continue to make eastward progress during the day today. so hour by hour between now and midday, not a lot of action.

shower but most of us will be dry. notice by 1:30, rain advancing by 2:00, 2:30. that first band loses steam. can't rule out a few showers north of town. then the steadier rain moves in. look at that the yellows and oranges in here, 10:00, 11:00 p.m., rain comes down hard through the overnight and into early tomorrow morning. 5:00 a.m., pockets of rain and downpours will shift offshore. clearing will comein quickly by late morning and midday. the rest of our friday will be spent dry. in terms of total rainfall, this is one depiction but you get the overall trend about 1 to 2 inches for most of us shy of that in boston. there may be locally higher amounts. breezy and mild tonigh look at this. 55 degrees. so we continue to rise overnight tonight. we'll probably hit our high

temperature early tomorrow morning around 60. then we'll be in the 50s during the afternoon with clearing coming in. after that, saturday will feature quiet weather on sunday watching another disturbance come in. there may be another couple of rain and snow showers with temperatures cool with no travel issues for wednesday and thanksgiving as well. right around the corner from that, winter begins. what's it going to be like this year? we have our winter weather preview tonight at 11:00 p.m. our entire weather team will sit down to discuss how much snow the main players are for this winter. >> no travel hazards other than the 60 million people expected to hitted roads for thanksgiving. speaking of winter, they plowed to keep the roads safe, but who's making sure plows are safe? >> operators working tough, long hours and there's little to no regulations surrounding driver fatigue. >> reporter: in many ways, they

historic winter -- heroes of our historic winter. plowing for day as the a time so we could get to work. >> 30 hoursp. >> after two days, you get the shakes. after that you can keep going. >> reporter: how long is too long? a national transportation group surveyed 1,000 plow drivs. nearly half said they'd fallen asleep at the wheel. unlike other large commercial vehies, there are no mandated rest times for snowplows. >> if you are working on, you know, 36 hours of being wide awake, how safe are you? >> reporter: beth mil hill's stepdaughter was killed in february when she was hit by a snowplowin fitchburg. driver fatigue is being investigated as a contributing cause. hill says something needs to change. at least three people were killed in massachusetts last winter. >> this is their season, and i get it. you never realize how much

danger you are putting everybody else in by not debting enough sleep. -- gettingnough sleep. >> reporter: one driver said after three days he hallucinated and "saw a rd of buffalo cross the street." another added "after 77 hours nonstop got delusional and started seeing things." while some states like connecticut require eight hours of rest between shifts, massachusetts has no regulations on how long someone can be behind the wheel. long time driver charlie mcnamara doesn't put limits on his drivers but admits may be helpful to enforce rules. do you believe there should be restrictions on w long someone can drive a snowplow? >> it would be a good idea. >> reporter: weeks away from another winter, this is a site the hill family dreads. they hope when the pressurous on to plow, everyone's safety is important. >> reporter: companies are not going to do it. they are out for making money. if somebody has to enforce it

welcome back. 4:52 right now. checking our top stories this morning. french police awaiting dna results to determine if the mastermind of the paris attacks was killed in yesterday's raid. there's also new surveillance video showing some of those terrifying moments of last week's attack. this was taken from cameras inside of a restaurant and posted by the u.k. daily mail. you can see gunfire from a man outside as the glass shatters and diners run for cover, literally running frothier lives. -- running for their lives. you can see two women survived only because the gun misfired. there is no specific credible threat on new york. the video shows times square and taxies on a man appearing

to prepare a device. additional counterterrorism teams will be deployed throughout the city. a woman accused of trying to open a plane mid-flight says she was drunk and on sleeping pills. prosecutors say the woman from poland was on the british airways flight tuesday when she set off a scare over the atlantic. flight attendants restrained her until lease at logan took her off the plane. prosecutors say she is a prostitute coming to work and her lawyers say she's in town to visit friends. massachusetts cracking down on fentanyl often used or added, rather, to heroin. it will be a crime to transport more than 10 grams of fentanyl and calls for 20 years in prison. that bill has to pass a final vote before heading to the governor's desk. looks like last call for the late night mbta service. the fiscal control board is

late night service on saturdays and sundays. they say operating the late night service on the t costs more than $14 million a year. the price tag is going up on mgm's planned casino in springfield. they originally estimated a cost of $80 million. the president of mgm resorts international says that cost has ballooned to more than $950 million. the developers are seeking approval for design change that would reduce square footage and eliminate a 25 story hotel tower. boston is considering raising the age to buy tobacco products in the city to 21 years old. the move is a way to fight advertising focused on teenagers and believe it will potentially reduce cancer rated. mayor walsh believes it will be a deterrent to parents even younger, too. most people we spoke with aren't convinced. >> if you are 18, you have to

running on dunkin' could be easier in some cities. >> dunkin' doughnuts is testing out delivery over the next few weeks. first stop in dallas, atlanta, chicago, l.a., and washington. this is the part that has us scratching our heads. strangely, even though dunkin' donuts was founded in quincy, there's no word on when the delivery would come to boston. we need it. >> i know. >> i'm surprised. >> maybe there's just too many. >> that's your theory?
