investigators are still trying to confirm whether that operation killed the mastermind of the paris attacks. bree is here with the latest. hi, bree. >> gd morning, kathryn and chris. a new warning from the french prime minister. he says terrorists linked to those who carried out last week's attacks could use chemical and biological weapons. this statement as the raids continue, more were carried out in belgium overnight and their link to this man. one of the suicide bombers that attacked the french national stadium. horrifying in its silence, the newly released surveillance video shows the paris restaurant attacked by terrorists last friday. in the security footage, you can see a gunman opening fire and then chaos as the shower of bullets and glass sent people running for their lives. at one point, the gunman aimed at point blank range, but his

escape. then 4:00 wednesday morning, police in the paris suburb. during the raid, a woman blew herself up. eight others were arrested including three men naked and handcuffed rushed through the streets by police. prosecutors say they were a new team of terrorists ready for a new attack but thwarted by tapped phone calls and tip- offs. rate now, authorities are waiting for the results from dna testing on the two dead suspects to see if the man they believe to be the mastermind is one of them. president obama still mans to be in climate talks. a new video released about i isis suggests the terror group is planning to attack new york city. susie steimle has how nypd is responding. there is no credible

they are still going to deploy counterterrorism teams in the coming days to make sure people feel safe there. additional police and state agencies will be on hand to thwart any potential terrorist attacks. city leaders say there is no place in the world better prepared for a terrorism threat than new york city itself. though, they don't believe this new video from isis holds any weight. you can clearly see what looks like a bomb and images of time square. these are old images edited together to look like a new threat. with holiday celebrations just around the corner, city leaders want to ensure new yorkers and visitors there feel safe. >> the people of new york city can rest assure that extraordinary efforts are being made every, single day to keep them safe. >> as we move into this time of year of great celebration and great activity in new york, the thanksgiving day parade, the

she was killed. nicole jacobs has a closer look. good morning, nicole. >> reporter: good morning to you. we saw a much different philip chism. he had a conversation with the judge during which he went against everything his attorney said since day one. he said he understood and comprehended his rights. he also said he wanted to be present in the courtroom. he was when prosecutors showed chilling video. it was a day after phillip courtroom. a day that the 16-year-old lacked the competence to stand trial until this, in his own words under questioning with the judge. >> you want to give up that right to be present and be here to confront, see the witnesses and see the cross-examination? >> no. >> do you want to be present? do you want to be present during the trial? >> reporter: with that, the

trial continued with chism present. he sat stoic as prosecutors revealed the most compelling evidence to date. surveillance of colleen ritzer's last moments alive. >> do you recognize that to be phillip chism? >> yes. >> reporter: the video shows phillip following ritzer. prosecutors say during that time, he raped and murdered the beloved teacher afterwards with a hood over his head and carrying what's believed to be ritzer's clothing. we do expect phillip chism to be back in court this morningp. heartbreaking news for football star doug flutie and his family. his parents died on the same day. he sent out a message that his father dick had been ill and died of a heart attack.

less than an hour, his mother suddenly. flutie's parents were married for 56 years. nate solder opening up about his 4-month-old boy's kidney cancer diagnosis. >> my thought was this poor, innocent child has to go through this, and i feel like i'd done something wrong. i think a little bit feel like i wasn't able to protect him. >> reporter: and in april, solder revealed that he was treated for testicular cancer. now his toughest battle yet, his son hudson's cancer fight. solder says he believes in god and believes there must be a higher reason for this. >> anything's possible. i think there's no question he can heal my son, but i don't know if that's in his plan. >> reporter: hudson already has had four rounds of chemo and has another 15 treatments.

a lot of houses are covered up. it's been blamed for three deaths in parts of washington. the winds stopped out over 70 miles per hour. thousands are still without power. kansas saw 20 inches. drivers were stranded on highways the thattingal guard had to go out and rescue people as well. gives you perspective, right? here at home, a quiet start. we've got rain on the way, but nothing compared to the rain, flooding, wind, and snow in other parts of the country. our rain widespread 1 to 2 inches. flooding seems unlikely. the timing and owers arrive with the heaviest rain overnight into early tomorrow morning. i don't think the wind will be a big deal. i'm not expecting damage. 30 to 40 mile-per-hour gusts

into pockets of light rain. it's generally north and west of boston. 5:30 so part of the evening commute here is far easter massachusetts dry in spots. the heaviest rain by far after this evening commute is great news because it is going to pour heavy rain, your pours, isolated rumble of thunder not out of the question. the rain shifts off the coastline lingering longest on the cape through late morning. clearing comes in after that. keep in mind this is one depiction. you debt the idea. there may be very locally higher amount where's some of the heaviest downpours come in. breezy and mild overnight, too. temperatures stay in the 50s and tomorrow morning we'll be around 60. 60 in the morning and with the rain departing, clearing comes in. the temperatures will be in the 50s through the afternoon. looking good saturday with a few high thin clouds.

the woman accused of trying to open a plane door mid flight says she was drunk and on sleeping pills. prosecutors say camilla was on the british airways flight on tuesday when she set off a square over the atlantic. flight crews restrained her until they were taken off the plane. massachusetts is cracking down on fentanyl. a powerful narcotic often added to heroin making it a crime to transport more than 10 grams calling for punishment up to 20 years in prison. fighting the flu on the go, uber hoping to give the best shot at staying healthy. today people in the posten area including somerville, cambridge and chelsea can order a flu shot the same way you would hail a ride all on the uber app

morning. a california judge is allowing five frozen embryos to be divorce. while the couple was still married, husband and wife agreed to discard the 'em preyos if the marriage ever ended. when it did, the wife changed her mind and sued to keep them saying the embryos could be her last chance to have biological children. the judge says the contract is a contract and the language is clear. on the healthwatch, your doctor could some day know your vital signs even if they are not in your office. m.i.t. has

be aware but do not be afraid. >> the upcoming holiday celebrations and tree lighting rockefeller center attract 60 million people to new york city. susie steimle, wbz this morningp. a showdown in washington over alouing syrian refugee into the u.s. the republican- led house is expected to pass the measure today increasing screenings of refugees. the white house says president obama is threatening to vote toe it and at least one family already feeling the impact of the rhetoric. a syrian family has been diverted to connecticut. indiana's dove under has order add i state agency to stop all resettlement. the agency says they don't believe his actions are legal but don't want to put the family through any additional pain.

whitey bulger's girlfriend kathryn greig will be in court accused of refusing to name names to a grand jury about who helped the mobster evade captor. she's serving eight years phoridty fraud. boston police say a 42- year-old woman was stabbed several times in mattapan. the suspect, her 25-year-old son who was standing at the top of the stairs and kept reaching for something in his waistband. officers unholsterred their guns but did not fire and were able to arrest the man peacefully. police say he was carrying a knife. jurors showed the surveillance video of chism

the fiscal control board is once again considering ending late night service on saturdays and sunday. the mbta says operating late costs the t more than $14 million a year. 6:40 is the time right now. time for a check of our "daily talker." boston mayor walsh is trying to prevent young people from getting hooked on cigarettes and other tobacco products. >> right now, anyone over 18 can buy cigarettes in boston but the mayor wants to hike it up to thsame age as pieing alcohol. >> reporter: marty walsh says cigarette use among high school students dropped steadily and now believes the tobacco company has noticed this and ramping up their marketing towards young people the city's board of health is
