what it means for our weekend. we start with the breaking news at noon. a 2 year old girl found alive after vanishing from her home in the middle of the night. lyndon alnevers was found miles away from her hamilton home on the side of the road. >> thank you for being here with us. we have team coverage for you of the search. >> reporter: 2 year old lyndon has been found and found safe, at the hospital right now being reunited with her parents. the police chief, a short time ago, said very lit wl regards case. i want to show you a picture of lyndon right now. we know that the search search began in the early morning hours. the little girl had not been seen since 3 or 4:00 in the morning.

local and state police began searching for her. the chief would not say exactly where the little girl was found. we know she disappeared from her home on lincoln avenue in hamilton, she was found if an area where passers by could see her. sources tell wbz , the girl was located in raleigh around 10:00 this morning, and again in few details, the public should not be concerned. >> reporter: as the chief of police in this town, i am very connected to the people that live in this town. i have been here for 6 years as the chief of police. if i thought the parents were concerned i would be the first one standing in front of you. >> i'm excited she was found alive and reunited with her parents. until i know the okay, i'm going to be concerning as a parent, i feel for these

parents. i'm happy we reunited her with the family. >> reporter: we know there was a 4 year old girl found safe in the home who was there during all of this situation. the chief stopped short of saying there would be charges, only saying the investigation is on going. the big question still remains, how did that little girl get from her home in hamilton and travel 8 miles away to what we are told was raleigh. that's under investigation. lyndon alvers is now treated at beverly hospital. >> reporter: we saw police presence, state and raleigh police. the hospital just saying the toddler is in fair condition, that's one notch down from good. typically means that her vital

conscious but maybe uncomfortable. she was brought here for observation after she was found. specifics on her condition, again, still coming together, but thankfully we do know we will be reunited with her parents here and appears to be here at the hospital being treated. we are learning much more about the search for the 2 year old. ken >> reporter: they arrowed news to the neighborhood until just about 15 minutes ago, they have been keeping us on the other side as they conducted the search and tried to straighten this out. you can see it's taped off with yellow crime scene tape. i'm told by the police, they are sitting here waiting until crime scene technicians can show up and go over and scour this house.

one police source says he knees nothing sinister at first glance. they sealed off the neighborhood after 7:00 a.m. timothy and jonie alvers called 911 to report their 2 year old daughter was missing from her bedroom. intense i have ground and air search followed spanning out from the home. from our position at the other end of the street, we could see police going door to door in the neighborhood canvassing for neighbor information. that changed before 10:00, when a woman driving in raleigh, 8 miles away, saw what she thought was a doll alongside wilks road. that turned out to be the injured 2 year old, she was rushed to the hospital said to be in fair condition. i was talking with a neighbor here at the house, she described the parents timothy and jonie, as quote gentle,
