we'll take you through your thanksgiving and weekend coming up in a couple of minutes. we have breaking news from overnight. an nfl player shot. stedman bailey is in critical but stable condition right now. nfl.com says he was shot while sitting in a car in miami gardens, florida. he was hit in the head but his injuries were not life threatening. no word on any arrests. stedman is currently serving a four-game suspension for violating the substance abuse policy. now to a developing story in chicago. police and protesters clashing in the streets hours after the release of dash cam video showing a white police officer shooting a black teenager 16 times. that officer is now facing murder charges. >> chicago leaders and the victim's parents are calling for calm. marlie hall has the latest.

october 2014 incident shows 17- year-old la kwon mcdonald jogging down the street, and then he slows down into a walk. two officers approach. prosecutors say officer jason van dike started shooting six vehicle. the silent video shows van dike continued to shoot mcdonald while the teen was on the ground. a few hundred protesters took to the streets shortly after the video was released. some briefly scuffled with police and were led away in handcuffs. >> i want to try to encourage people to be peaceful and yet protest. >> people have a right to be angry. people have a right to protest. people have a right to free speech, but they do not have a right to commit criminal acts. >> reporter: prosecutors say he fired 16 shots in 15 seconds despite the fact that mcdonald never threatened him. the 14-year veteran was charged

sites will be in court today for a hearing. new york's attorney general is trying to stop fan duel and draftkings from doing business in the empire site. the sites are making one change. the "new york times" says both sites have started blocking users from states where fantasy sports betting is already illegal. president obama will meet with national security advisors again today. he's urging them to step up against isis even over the holidays. the state department has warned everyone to be vigilant while traveling, especially in large crowds. a former chelsea police officer will undergo anger management after admitting he pun offed a handcuffed man. this morning, we see felix hit the victim in the face four times knocking him to the ground in september of 2014. the victim, who suffered

was detained for being intoxicated. yesterday, the judge accepted rivera's guilty plea and sentenced him to three years' probation. he already has resigned from the department. right now, a manhunt under way for a dorchester man accused of killing a woman and setting her body an fire. the suspect has been identified as fernando owens. the victim's bound and burped body was found in bridgewater earlier this month. the d.a. says owens believed the woman had something to do with his son's death. >> cell phone records show that there were 13 phone calls between miss bordner and mr. owens the day ashley was killed. state police additionally seized several items from owens' home that link him to the murder. >> two other people are also charged in extension with the murder. thieves on the run this morning. they targeted multiple homes in a burglary spree through norwood.

as jim armstrong reports, they stole jewelry, electronics, and a gun. >> reporter: norwood police say the total number of reported break-s in stands at 8, all from monday. >> we had houses about within a few doors from each other hit in certain neighborhoods. >> the they'ves go the away with electronics and cash. >> there was one fire stolen in one of the breaks. it was secured the way it was supposed to be secured legally. they were able to defeat the locking mechanism. >> reporter: frank lives in one of the targeted neighborhoods. >> they want to come in, they'll find a way to come in anyway. that's the way i see it. >> these are forced entries. windows and doors were pried and kicked. >> investigators say it's normal for robberies like these to happen in the daytime when burglars count on no one being at home. >> these breaks seem to occur later in the afternoon and to the point where some people did witness suspects in neighborhoods. we have some descriptions.

temperatures actually rebound. we'll be around 60 degrees to end the week. the next best chance of any weather comes on friday into early on saturday. mean tile it is chilly to start the day. temperatures are similar to what we had. 33 in boston right now. the wind is light out of the northwest at 5 miles per hour right now. we do have 20s and teens on the map as well. 19 in keene. 19 in taunton. most of us are running in the 20s as you step out early. the sun is going to be shining once it comes up right now. i just want to show you the nation. not a whole lot going on. there are snow showers going from idaho stretching up towards bismarck and that's where we're seeing the active weather. for us, though, high pressure is the dominant feature on the map providing us with this quiet day today. any traveling you have to do new england through the northeast corridor through the mid-atlantic just fine.

we get low-level clouds to fill in, in the morning. notice at 7:00 a.m., some of the clouds may be stubborn tomorrow. i do think we'll see sunshine. with the southerly wind, we'll warm up into the mid-50s for thanksgiving day. here comes the front. this is one we'll be tracking for friday night. there's rain and snow with it. because we'll be so mild to end the week on friday up around 60 as the front comes in, we're talking a few scattered rain showers. again, overnight on friday and into early saturday morning. that's the leading edge of the cooler air that comes back. a few degrees above where we were yesterday. middle to upper 40s for most of us. we should be in the upper 40s this time of the year. overnight tonight, not as chilly as this morning. we've got a few scattered clouds that move in. 39 in boston. the coldest suburbs may dip in. partly sunny, dry and cool. not all that cold. 38 to 44 degrees.

rebound into the middle 50s. looks fantastic. accuweather seven-day forecast, black friday shopping deals looking good. quiet weather, 60 degrees on friday afternoon. temperatures will be in the 40s for the weekend. mid-40s on monday and upper 40s, kathryn, but tuesday. >> thank you very much, danielle. an unlikely discovery at a church nativity scene in queens, new york. a newborn baby boy found in a manger. police believe the boy was just about four hours old when a church custodian heard his careers and found him. -- heard his cries and found him. he was rushed to the hospital. he's said to be healthy. the church is considered a safe haven where anyone can drop off a newborn baby with a responsible person. because no one was notified, whoever dropped off the baby could face charges.
