so far -- for these creatures being found is a difference between life and death -- that means treatment at the sea turtle hospital. >> every november and december and they wash up on the beaches -- the water is cold. they are lethargic and they drift and when the wind blows the waves was them onto the land. hundreds of volunteers search brought here. >> we are in the new england biologists and veterinarians examine the patience and draw blood and take x-rays and treat cases of pneumonia. >> the first four days the goal is to warm them up to the normal audie temperature in the mid-70s -- most coming in today are around 50 -- they will be warmed up 50 per day. >> most of them rescued are camp ridley sea turtles -- the

most in danger. >> the geography is the problem -- they are trapped in the bay unable to migrate south. >> cape cod bay is a bucket -- a deadly bucket. >> that makes work important. >> over 25 years we have rescued and released more than 1500 sea turtles. >> this has played a crucial role in the slow recovery of these sea turtles. >> if the turtles are rescued by december or january the cold will kill them. as they regain their health they are released back into warmer waters. next year they will write the gulfstream will have the same problem next year. >> really confuses them. >> yes. if you have a couple of nor'easter's it blows the wind a crossed and bring them in land to be found. if there is no wind it is common they are trapped and
