maybe got a little sleep? >> a little. >> and shoppers are hitting up store says all over the area for black friday deals. you may want to get outside anyway. it's nice and mild out there. >> yeah. >> and we're going to approach record highs, ladies. coma. and i will push through this. the temperatures are in the 50s this morning and this is above where we should be this time of the year in the afternoon. 51 degrees at logan airport. the dew point is at 50 and the wind from the southwest at 12 miles an hour. and that is southwest, the wind is going to boost us into the 60s this afternoon. and nashua, 37; 42 in taunton. a bit of a cooler start. 52 in lawrence and there is a touch of patchy fog in a few like yesterday, we'll see intervals of sunshine and clouds through the afternoon and a dry day today. 52 degrees by 8 a.m.

some with rifles. we added plain clothes officers, and behavioral observation and we have added canine explosive dogs. >> reporter: not that it's not fun. this was the scene last year here when the doors opened at midnight. and year, we found one shopper here from england. >> and i think it's strange and crazy and mostly strange and crazy coming from the u.s. and this -- probably take on as well in europe. so, yes, something different. >> it's crazy and kind of fun, like you're hyped up from the holiday and excited. it's a good time. >> what are your thoughts on the security? >> i think it's great. they're more protected. >> reporter: shoppers seem to welcome the beefed-up security and they're determined not to let the world situation spoil the occasion. >> we should not be bullied and we're not going to let the terrorist bully us. >> you think the security is a good idea? >> absolutely.

of an attack is imminent. people need to be vigilant and on alert. and in the meantime, the justice minister of belgium said the fugitive want side likely getting sent from others and it's obvious that salah abdeslam is part of a bigger network. and a commuter worker killed outside of a bar in fenway parkway. the police are trying to find the gunman. >> reporter: a joyous day clouded by grief after this young man was ruthlessly shot down. and police believe he was just an innocent bystander when gunfire rang out next to fenway park on yaki way around 2 a.m. he was killed, three others suffered non-life-threatening wounds and all within feet of police. >> and they brazen. probably a half away is where the officer was.

calling the death a senseless loss. >> and -- >> and dozens posted condolences on facebook. one friend saying he was easy going, hilarious, and all in good spirits. he was originally from haiti and went to dorchester high school. the mayor even weighed? >> and he was a lard-working person -- hard-working person going to go to work today. >> reporter: police are using surveillance video and canvassing to search for the suspect who caused a chaotic and deadly scene outside on whose on first. >> they saw several people running from the area. >> reporter: some of the surviving victims are known to police. causing a plausible frustration among city leaders. >> and no mother should get a phone call saying their son was shot and killed any day of the week. >> reporter: police commissioner said that this bar has been a persistent problem.

the fall outside of the bar where two women were injured. in chicago's busiest shopping district, the reverend jesse jackson will join the march remembering 17-year-old mcdonald. he was shot and killed by a white police officer. the protestors hope the perhaps will discourage black friday shoppers from shopping in that area. and workers are repairing chicago's christmas tree after protestors damaged it during a second night of demonstrations. the protestors ripped off some of the lights. the good thing, they tied down the lights tightly when they first put them up. a former police officer accused of lying about an ambush and sparking a manhunt is dead. a family member found bryant johnson's body thanksgiving morning. investigators said it was not a homicide. and in september, prosecutors said that johnson called in saying shot says were fired at

the suspect's truck took off. that triggered a massive manhunt. the 24-year-old claimed he hit a tree and his car caught fire. investigators found the story was made up and johnson didd damage himself. and they charged him with calling -- calling in a fake bomb threat to the high school. and a lockdown at the white house. the first family celebrated thanksgiving. a man draped in an american flag climbed over the fence in front of the north lawn. he was captured by secret service and is currently in custody. no word if charges were filed. >> and new video this morning. look at black friday shoppers and this is crazy and crowded, too. and this is near a wal-mart overnight. you can see dozens of people scrambling to get their hands on merchandise. and a calmer scene in our area. this is what it looked like at the burlington mall overnight. a lot of people hitting the stores and on the roads as well. and in saugus, people waiting for a long line for a chance to

stop at best buy. the store letting so many shoppers in at a time. looks like a controlled situation. and massachusetts black friday shopping couldn't start until thanksgiving was over. >> and are you going to par take? >> no. >> and that is not the case in a lot of stores across the country. and analysts predict as much as 20% of all holiday shopping will be done this weekend. here's more. >> reporter: black friday shoppers lined up overnight waiting for stores to open and big deals to be revealed. many got a head start on their holiday shopping on so-called gray thursday. ditching turkey dinner for discounts at major retailers. >> and saving about $2.50, and that is my budget. >> reporter: some stores handed out vouchers for big ticket items to avoid pushing and shoving. >> and that tv is $150 for a 49- inch and that is a good deal.

the binge visis doing okay in boston, five miles and not a big issue. we have some clouds in places while there is a variable through the day today. and at times, they win out and other times, out in full force and you zoom and there is rain and ice and snow in the central part of the country and this front is going to work in our direction and brook out the threat of showers. we'll stay dry and there is a blend of sun and clouds and that is not until overnight tonight into early tomorrow morning and this is that map at 8 a.m. by mid-morning and late day, i anticipate breaks of sunshine before the weather sets. a weak area of high pressure building in and sunday, a brighter day and temperatures will be back to near normal.

. welcome back. it's 4:52. checking our top stories on this friday morning. america is still on alert after the paris attacks. police are keeping a close eye on so-called soft targets and that includes local malls. police were out in full force at the wrentham premium outlets as shoppers began searching for the black friday deals and most welcomed the added security and said they are determined to go about their business despite the possible danger. a family in morning after a commuter rail conductor was killed in a shooting outside of a bar near fenway park. he would have turned 40 years old today. he was shot and killed outside on thanksgiving morning. three other men in their 20s were injured. and police found the gun and shell casing at the scene.
