another cold night tonight, but milder temperatures into tuesday. also tracking rain chances in the seven-day tracker. pamela, let's get a check of the maps for you now. this is a look at boston, 95, 93 and 495 seem to be moving along pretty well rights now. green on the screen is a good thing. on the expressways south of town, volume has been growing there, but no major problems to tell you about. we will keep an eye on this for you. it is 5:02 now. the patriots' perfect season ends with a crushing defeat in denver. they lost in overtime and they lost rob gronkowski to an injury. if you missed this, gronk left the field with a knee injury. >> a lot of fans waking up concerned this morning, but he was seen walking on his own in the locker room. our levee has more on gronk's injury and the team's first loss of the season.

if you're a patriots fan, you know the pats lost, they're now 10-1. this is probably the most important news of the day. let's look at the video. rob gronkowski in the fourth quarter and right there, takes a hit on that knee. right knee, it looks awfully bad, but the news coming out of the locker room from anyone who got a chance to see gronk said it wasn't as bad as it looked. the boston herald, the boston globe and espn all say that. it didn't look as bad and hopefully an mri will prove it. right there, this right here. field goal, 44 yards out. ties the game and sends it to overtime, but in the overtime, the pats get the first position. they punt the ball away and denver takes advantage. t.j. anderson around the end, 48 yards. touchdown.

page or tweet us, #wbztalker. we will have the comments just ahead at #k6 00. and now to a developing story in chicago. the university of chicago shut down today over fears of a campus shooting. the fbi says an online threat mentioned the campus quad and a time of 10:00 a.m., the school is asking all students in campus housing to stay indoors. they're asking 30,000 faculty, staff, undergrad and grad students stay away from campus. today, the man accused of murdering three people at a planned parenthood clinic in colorado will make his first court appearance. meanwhile, we're getting a look into the lives of the victims and the pleas being made to political leaders in the wake of a tragedy. the deadly attacks hit home for hope chapel, garrett swasey was an elder. >> we experienceled all joy, all pain, all emotion.

>> reporter: chandler says one of the victims killed was his brother, an iraq war vet. >> the guy didn't know him. he didn't know the guy. i forgive him, though. >> the final victim was escorting a friend to the clinic. the 36-year-old was a married mother of two young children. investigators still processing the scene days after the deadly shooting rampage in colorado springs. they say robert deer killed three people and wounded nine others inside a planned parenthood facility. police are sealing warrants related to the case, but sources tell cbs news that the suspect had several guns and ammunition in addition to a long rifle. they also believe he planned on detonating propane tanks outside his car but surrendered instead. a law enforcement source says when deer surrendered, he said, "no more baby parts." women health advocates are

candidates and anti-abortion activists to tone down the rhetoric. garrett swasey grew up in melrose. his wife said, in part, "helping others brought him deep satisfaction and being a police officer was a part of him." in the end, his last act was for the safety and well being of others." and it was a tribute to his life." . 5:09 now. a leicester man accused of hiding an arsenal in his home reportedly bolted from police before being arrested. police showed off a huge arsenal of high-powered weapons and ammo they found in the apartment of 32-year-old dean largesse. he was wanted by worcester police and allegedly stole a boat and crossed this pond. he was captured 35 miles away in royalston. >> this is really a law law enforcement officer's worst nightmare. from the time the incident

i was concerned for myself, my fellow officers and the members of our community. >> leicester police say that i peers to be the biggest seizure of weapons in town history. he's being held without bail and will be in court today. the trial of a danvers teen accused of killing his math teacher is expected to resume this morning. in court last week, prosecutors showed surveillance video. they say show philip chism wheeling a recycle bin with colleen ritzer's body inside. the judge adjourned the case for the week last tuesday after ritzer's mother broke down in court. the case could go to the jury in 2 weeks. lawyers for convicted marathon bomber dzhokhar tsarnaev will be in court tomorrow, asking for a new trial in a new location. they say tsarnaev didn't get a fair trial. his defense tried for a change of venue before the case even started, but they were unsuccessful. over to campaign 2016 now. democratic presidential hopeful hillary clinton was in boston

the mayor supports the former secretary of state. this was at a rally at nathaniel hall. clinton spoke to a packed house filled with union workers and students. the former first lady vowed that her campaign would focus on creating jobs and re- building the workforce. >> as your president, we're going to have ladders of opportunity available for anybody willing to work hard and do your part to make a difference in this country. >> nobody ever in the history think country has the hess mae hillary clinton has to run for president. >> and clinton said she will try to make college more affordable to all. after the endorsement, clinton headed up to new hampshire and met with arrivingals martin o'malley and bernie sanders for the annual fundraising dinner for the democratic party. new hampshire's biggest newspaper, meanwhile, is endorsing chris christie. they say he's right for "these dangerous times." christie is expected to make several stops in new hampshire today and tomorrow.

check it out. a historic day in boston. for the first time in 242 years, bostonans dumped authentic tea from england into the boston harbor. >> this is part of the anniversary of the boston tea party. 100 pounds of east india tea arrived from london yesterday. a captain's brought it by row boat, where it was dumped overboard. the original tea party happened back on december december 16th, 1773. >> it doesn't seem to have as much -- like it's exciting to do, i'm sure, but it doesn't feel kathartic at the time. when you're not mad at the tea company. >> yes.

president obama along with more than 150 world leaders are in paris for talks aimed at reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. more than 300 protestors were arrested after clashing with police ahead of the conference. officers in riot gear used tear gas on the demonstrators. paris is still under a state of emergency following the terror attacks earlier this month. president obama took time out to remember the victims of those attacks. he joined the french president and mayor of paris outside the bataclan nightclub last night. they laid a white rose on the died across paris. the first deer hunt in more than a century at the blue hills reservation began at 5:00 this morning. protestors call it a slaughter and demonstrated against the four scheduled hunts approved by the department of conservation and rec restitution. the agency says the deer

and increasing the threat of lyme disease and other tick- borne illnesses. organizers looking to submit questions for the 2016 state ballot have a deadline this week. they have to submit the required number of signatures -- certified signatures, by wednesday. one group that hopes to legalize the recreation rational use of marihuana says it has more than enough signatures to move forward. groups that meet the requirements will have their proposals put before the state legislature. boston is considering raising the age to purchase cigarettes and tobacco products and now could go statewide. nearly 60 representatives and senators have signed on to a bill to make it illegal to sell tobacco to people under 21. boston's board of health scheduled a hearing for thursday. several dozen massachusetts communities have raised the age requirement in the past 10 years. 5:20 now. hundreds of care packages from massachusetts are now heading to u.s. troops overseas.

our troops put together 1500 packages over the weekend inborne, but the organization says they need donations to help ship them out. it costs about 25 thousand $25,000 to get all of those to iraq and afghanistan. >> that group is amazing. i've been to one of their rallies on the cape and it just is amazing, the support they get. so hopefully lots of people come forward. >> you don't think about it, but the shipping is just huge. >> absolutely. all right, a local garden center is bringing christmas to military families this year. >> customers can purchase a tree for $30 at mahoney's garden center and they will help a military family at more than 65 bases in the us and overseas. last year they donated more than 2,000 trees for troops. >> each year we always get cards back from the families thanking us and thanking the people directly by way of christmas cards headed back to thanking them for support for the military.

. today, the first of six baltimore police officers will stand trial for the death of freddie gray. gray died of a severed spine while in police custody back in april. officer william porter is charged with performance- enhance manslaughter and misconduct for not calling a medic to help gray. the 25-year-old's death sparked outrage and led to violent protests and vandalism, as well as looting. also today, family members of tamir rice will testify before a grand jury in cleveland. 12-year-old rice was fatally shot last year by police responding to reports of someone with a gun in a park. rice's gun was a toy. a grand jury must decide whether to indict the police officer who killed him. the response times for boston's emergency medical

it's now taking paramedics more than a minute longer to arrive at the scene of the most serious emergencies. according to the globe, one reason for the longer response times is a 26 percent increase in calls over the past decade. officials have not identified the reason for the spike, but the good news is patient results have not been impacted. the kennedy family welcomes a new baby girl. patrick and his wife, amy, welcomed the baby around 4:30 yesterday morning. she's healthy, weighs 6 pounds. the couple already has two daughters and a son. >> congratulations to them. mental health advocates, you know, living the happy life now. we're getting a new look at britain's royal baby. check her out. princess charlotte was born 6 months ago and already betrove to kathryn's ethan, so you know! the palace tweeted two new photos, adorable.

this was also incredible. >> schwartz was in israel, delivering food to israeli soldiers at the time what he killed. the 18-year-old graduated earlier this year in brookline. the connecticut college student arrested after jumping over the white house fence draped in an american flag will be in court today. the lawyer for joseph caputo says the 22-year-old was committing an act of civil disobedience. the stamford, connecticut man had no intention of harming anyone. there was a lockdown of the white house as the president celebrated thanksgiving with his family. a judge ordered him to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. providence's famous dancing cop is is taking his routine over the river for christmas. retired officer tony lepore gained national notice with his dance routines he started in 1984, but the city didn't invite him back this year after he organized a protest outside
