hope you had a great weekend. it is monday, november 30th. i'm kathryn hauser. >> i'm bree sison filling in for chris mckinnon. always tough to get back to work after a holiday weekend. >> that's right. >> chris just took another day off. >> he's probably sleeping. >> probably. pamela gardner is up and at 'em with us this morning keeping an eye on chilly temperatures out there. >> oh, yes. it feels like winter out there. on our last official day of meteorological fall, meteorological winter begins tomorrow, by the way. 29 degrees in boston. 26 degrees in fitch burg. an invigorating start to the day for some here. satellite and radar shows a few flurries developing along the south shore, the cape, the islands, as well. we don't expected accumulation, but the coastal flurries will stick around in the hour by hour forecast as we continue to have a breeze off the warmer ocean water from the north/northeast. we will continue to have the

see only in the upper 30s. a colder day for us, but milder temperatures on the way soon, plus, tracking rain chances. i will have the hour by hour forecast in a bit. traffic and weather together, bree. >> thank you so much, pamela. here's a live look at the expressways south of town. bumper-to-bumper, heading into the city. you can see a lot of headlights out there. be sure to give yourself plenty of time. volume is growing on the bridge, as well as the leverett connector. things seem to be moving, so, be prepared, though. it will probably slow down in the next hatch hour or so. >> we will keep an eye on it for you. the patriots' perfect season ends in denver. they lost in overtime and lost rob gronkowski to an injury. gronk left the game with a knee injury. >> he was seen walking on his own in the locker room so there's some hope. we have more now on the first loss of the season and the injury.

>> reporter: good morning, everybody. if you are a patriots fan, you know that the pats lost and now they're 10-1, but this right here is probably the most important news of the day. rob gronkowski in the fourth quarter and right there takes a hit on that knee. at first it looks awfully bad, but the news coming out of the locker room from anyone who got a chance to see gronk says it wasn't as bad as it looked. hopefully an mri will prove it. right there, 14 yards to set up this right here. ties the game and sends it to overtime. in the overtime, the pats get the first possession and punt the ball away. denver takes advantage. c.j. anderson around the end. 48 yards, touchdown.

the team of the it's the latest hit to the pats offense, which is already down several key players. susie steimle is live at gillette stadium this morning with reaction from the die hard fans, not too happy about this one, susie. >> reporter: no. it is a tough morning to be a pats fan, kathryn. i feel like the bearer of bad news, but pats fans are waking up after a long holiday weekend to not only find out that the pats are no longer undefeated, but that rob gronkowski was pulled from the game last night with a knee injury. he was pulled in the fourth quarter with just 2:49 left and overtime. they did lose to the broncos. we have video of his last moments on the field where he had to be carted off because of that knee injury. we don't know the extent of the injury at this point in time. initial reports are positive. there's a lot of hope he may be okay for the playoffs. that's what fans are hoping for

they did see him walking from the locker room to the bus without brace or crutches so that's good news. as hopeful fans are praying for his quick recovery. >> we hope all the best to him, and may he recover fast. >> with all the injuries, it's going to be tough. it's not good, but the undefeated season is not far back now, so we've got all the time in the world to get everybody rested. i think we'll be all right >> reporter: he will undergo an mri today and will have time to rest up before playoffs. the pats hope to defend their super bowl title. . we appreciate it. breaking news now out of afghanistan. the u.s. embassy in cabal says it's received credible reports of an imminent attack within the next 48 hours.

emergency warning message for u.s. citizens in kabul, but there is no possible time, target or method of attack. however, it urged americans in kabul to exercise extreme city. the first deer nun more than a century at the blue hills reservation is under way. hunters began lining up early this morning for the 5:00 a.m. hunt. the department of conservation and recreation says the deer population is out of control and that the hunt is needed to control the potential spread of lyme disease. protestors, though, have been demonstrating at the blue hills, calling the hunt a slaughter. they question the validity of the studies saying that the blue hills are overrun with deer. today is the first of four hunts. high-powered guns, a stash of ammo and survival gear. police say that arsenal belonged to a leicester man who took off as police tried to arrest him. this morning, that man is due in court to face charges. nicole jacobs is live in east

breakfield with the closer look at the case. nicole? >> reporter: bree, the police chief says that hearing of this story certainly makes him fear for his safety, his officers' safety and even the community's safety and when you take a look at the video of this arsenal of weapons, it's easy to understand why. we're talking about hundreds of rounds of ammunition, assault rifles, bulletproof vests and survival equipment. 32-year-old dean largesse's apartment over the weekend. again, restoring a sense of public safety. >> this was a great job and the best part of the whole thing is that nobody, nobody got hurt, but you can see what's on the table, the potential there could have been devastating. >> reporter: we're told largesse was not properly licensed to have any of those weapons. he's expected to be arraigned here in east brookfield today. that's where we're live this

morning, nicole jacobs, "wbz this morning." >> thank you, nicole. 6:08 now. now to a developing story in chicago. a shooting threat canceling classes at the university of chicago today. the fbi says an online threat mentioned the campus quad and a time of 10:00 a.m., the school is asking all students and campus housing to stay indoors, they're also asking 30,000 faculty, staff and undergrad and grad students stay away from campus. right now, security in paris is tight as world leaders attend a conference on climate change. president obama is one of more than 150 leaders in paris for the talks aimed at reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. more than 300 protestors clashed with police ahead of the conference. officers in riot gear used tear gas on the demonstrators. paris is still under a state of emergency following the terror attacks earlier this month. president obama took time

he joined the french president and mayor of paris outside the bataclan nightclub. they each laid a white rose at the memorial. today, the man accused of murdering three people at a planned parenthood critical condition glick colorado will make his first court appearance. meanwhile, a closer look into the lives of the victims and the pleas being made to political leaders in the wake of a tragedy. the deadly attack hit home for hope chapel, officer garrett swasey was an elder. >> we experienced all joy, all pain, all emotion for the last 10 years. >> reporter: he says one of the victims killed was his brother. ke'arre stewart, an iraq war vet. >> the guy didn't know him. he didn't know the guy. i forgive him. >> the final victim, jennifer markovsky, was escorting a friend to the clinic. the 36-year-old was a married mother of two young children. investigators still processing

the scene days after the deadly shooting rampage in colorado springs. they say robert dear killed three people and wounded nine others inside a planned parenthood facility. police are sealing warrants related to the case, but sources tell cbs news that the suspect has several guns and ammunition in addition to a long rifle. detonating propane tanks outside his car, but surrenders instead. a law enforcement source says when dear surrendered, he said "no more baby parts." women health advocates are calling on republican presidential candidates and anti-abortion activists to tone down the rhetoric. the activist killed in the attack grew up in melrose. his wife said, "helping others brought him deep satisfaction and being a police officer was a part of him. in the end, his last act was for the safety and well being of others and was a tribute to .

have below average temperatures for today, we should round out the month with above normal temperatures. temperatures in the 20s and 30s now. a bit of a shock to the system as you head out the door. returning to work, returning to school, boston, 29 degrees. keane, 18 degrees. worcester, 20 degrees. and we're going to stick in the 30s for the rest of the day in the hour by hour forecast. 39 degrees in boston and a lot of coastal clouds ruling the forecast for us. highs today in the upper 30s and lower 40s for a lot of locations here. tonight, back in the 20s. 28 degrees here in the metro, but many locations, falling into the upper teens and lower 20s farther inland. satellite and radar, i want to show you the flurries here. no snow accumulation expected or anything like that, but we have a good breeze coming off the slightly warmer water on the ocean. that breeze will help to kick up a little bit of instability in moisture there to help give us the chance of flurries.

at the moment, but we're watching it for you on your monday morning. the trial of a danvers teen accused of killing his math teacher is expected to resume this morning. in court last week, prosecutors showed surveillance video they say shows philip chism wheeling a recycling bin with colleen ritzer's body inside. the judge adjourned the case for the week last tuesday after court. the case could go to the jury in two weeks. lawyers for convicted marathon bomber dzhokhar tsarnaev will be in court tomorrow. they say tsarnaev didn't get a fair trial and they want a new trial in a new location. his defense tried for a change of venue before the case even started, but they were unsuccessful. the campaign 2016, a democratic presidential hopeful, hillary clinton, was in boston to pick up a major endorsement. the mayor threw his support behind the former secretary of state at a rally. clinton spoke to a packed house filled with union workers and

welcome back. 6:24 now. the response times for boston's emergency medical services are getting longer. it's now taking paramedics more than a minute longer to arrive at the scene of most serious emergencies. according to the globe, one reason for the longer response times is a 26 percent increase in calls over the past decades. officials have not identified the reason for the spike, but good news is patient results have not been impacted.

boston's proposal to raise the age to purchase cigarettes and tobacco products could go nearly 60 representatives and senators have signed on to a bill to make it illegal to sell tobacco to people under 21. boston's board of health scheduled a hearing for thursday. several dozen massachusetts communities have done the same in the past 10 years. hawaii recently became the first state to raise the age to 21. in other news this morning, u.s. secretary of defense ashton carter is speaking at harvard tomorrow. carter is a former harvard a conversation about government. it will be a webcast live by the university. carter was appointed as head of the armed forces by president obama back in february. prove dawns's famous dancing cop is going over the river for christmas. the retired officer gained national notice with this dance routine which he started in 1984. the city didn't invite him back this year after he organized a

right? it feels like it. the bottom kind of dropped out. >> the weather agreeing with the time, yes. it is christmastime. and we have a few clouds off the coast right now. blocking some of that sunrise, although mostly sunny skies are found farther inland and the some spots. i will show you the radar in a second. everyone experiencing the cold temperatures. heavy winter coat necessary in boston, 29 degrees. worcester, 23 degrees. we have the milder temperatures and farther to the south and east on the cape and islands, mid- to upper 30s. satellite and rad car pictures show the flurries as promotioned. we're starting to see things pick up a little bit, just had a report from nolton, some fine small flurries flying through the air. a few sprinkles on the cape and islands, too. we will keep the ocean effect flurries in for early today. by this afternoon, 38 degrees that high temperature.

24, ending new england's 10- game winning streak. the first loss of the season and the pats also lost tight end rob gronkowski. >> he injured his knee during the play in the fourth quarter. and our dan roche is in denver with a closer look at gronk's injury. >> reporter: the big story out here in denver, rob gronkowski going down with 2:49 left to go in the fourth quarter. a battle back and forth between two teams, new england holding its breath, needed to be carted off and did not look good as far as getting that right knee hurt and banged up. he's been through so much in the patriots uniform when it comes to injuries, but we can't say in the locker room afterwards, cautiously optimistic, perhaps the best way to put it. players concerned, holding their breath, saying prayers for gronkowski. he was in the locker room, as well. perhaps a good sign he was in there. he packed his stuff, didn't speak with the media, but walked to the patriots' bus so we shall see, but initial reports, again, holding their breath, the fact that maybe,

hours. the embassy issued an emergency warning message and warns all americans to use extreme caution around the city. a sharon teenager killed in israel was remembered. family and friends came together last night to remember ezra schwartz. he was one of three killed in a palestinian attack in the west bank. ezra's father says the family is receiving an outpouring of support. >> many from the towns around volunteered their time to just honor ezra by having motorcycles along, after the funeral it felt like -- seeing the numbers of people from our community coming together and had he us through this was also incredible. >> schwartz was in israel for a gap year and was delivering food to israeli soldiers at the time he was killed. the 18-year-old graduated high school earlier this year. high-powered guns, a stash of ammo and survival gear.

officer william porter is charged with manslaughter and misconduct for not calling a medic to help gray. the 25-year-old's death sparked outrage and led to protests, and have vandalism and looting in baltimore. and family members of tamir rice will testify in cleveland. 12-year-old rice was fatally shot last year by police responding to reports of someone with a gun in a park. rice's gun was a toy. a grand jury must decide whether to indict the police officer who killed him. this morning, president obama was among the 151 world leaders in paris attending the united nations meeting on climate change. the u.s., canada and nine european nations pledged a quarter of a billion dollars to help vulnerable countries adapt to rising seas, droughts and other effects of climate change. and the connecticut college student arrested for jumping over the white house fence draped in an american

the hour for joseph caputo says the 22-year-old was committing an act of civil disobedience, but the stamford, connecticut man had no intention of harming anyone. his action caused a lock down at the white house as the president was celebrating thanksgiving with his family, a judge ordered him to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. a leicester family takes christmas to the max. 200 inflatable decorations light up the lawn, as well as lights and ornaments. they've been doing this for 25 years. they've spent thousands to turn their lawn into a winter wonderland. >> i spend every day of the year planning it, buying stuff for it, tracking stuff down, yard sales, flea markets. >> my birthday is the day right before christmas and every year he gets me a christmas, you know, decoration for my birthday. it kind of grew and grew. >> the couple admits it can be overwhelming, but they just want to put a smile on

he's expected to undergo an mri today. today, the man accused of shooting up a planned parenthood clinic in colorado will be in court. robert dear is accused of killing three people, including a police officer. as well as injuring nine others. police have sealed the warrants in that case. we're also learning more about the victims killed. 29-year-old ke'arre stewart was an iraq war veteran and father of two. jennifer markovsky was a married mother of two. she was escorting a friend to the clinic. the third victim was a melrose native, he was a husband and a father of two. police officer garrett swasey. and hundreds began checking in for the first deer hunt at the blue hills reservation in more than a century. this is the first of four scheduled hunts approved by the department of conservation and recreation. they say the deer population is out of control. protestors have been demonstrating at the blue hills, calling the hunt a
