thank you for being here with us. >> it is thursday, december 3rd. a lot is going on this morning. but first a check of the weather, pamela gardner is in for danielle niles this morning. hey, good morning fog is reported. north of boston here, bed fort, half a mile or less. same deal for concord, new hampshire there. light fog from boston to areas south. but, no major visibility issues, at least nothing too widespread at this time. and the showers are actually moving to the north and east through the cape and through the islands and temperatures are rather mild at this time. and we will keep the temperatures in the uppers, lower--upper 40s, lower 50s for the rest of the day with the showers actually moving out, we do have a chance for a lot of wind to come in here, too. winds gusting between 40 and 50 miles per hour at times. coming up in just a bit, the hour by hour timing and what to expect for the weekend. pamela, most of the back

and at city on this thursday morning. the worst ride, no doubt, it is 24 northbound after an early accident just before 128, a bumper to bumper back up. and 128 southbound crawls between 37 and the split. route 3 is looking slow. checking the north with a live look over foggy route 1, southbound is hanging up between 95 and the lynnfield tunnel. and 93 southbound is slow. south is heavy and slow between 495 and 129. we start with breaking news in cambridge this morning, there is extra security at all public schools there. >> the his are taking no chances a--the police are take after a threat. well, chris, right now, the priority is to just make sure

school safely and that they will be increasing security here. so for students and parents, that means you need to be aware of some changes at cambridge middle school. you will have to enter through one entrance at the front of the school with a security officer present. they believe that the gun violence threat that just came in overnight is connected to one that took place on tuesday. the e-mail that kim in on tuesday was of a bomb threat, targeting schools in cambridge, specially middle schools, it turned out not to be credible after five schools were searched. of course, the hope and the expectation is that this is also not a credible threat but the police are taking it very seriously. they closed down schools at 10:30 p.m. last night and alarmed them. and before 6:30 a.m., this morning, that will be doing a sweep and ha there is a secure

for now, live in cambridge, was this morning. >> --wbz this morning. >> thank very much. also, breaking news on that mass shooting in california. overnight, police identified the two suspects involved, a man and a woman, and they were both killed. >> right now, investigators are searching a home in redland, california linked to 28-year- old syed rizwan farook and 27- year-old tashfeen malik who relatives say were married. >> as for a motive, police are still looking into reports that farook, who was a county employee had a workplace dispute. but investigators until not ruling out terrorism and this morning a corker of the suspect says that farook spent about a month in saudi arabia in spring and returned with a wife. >> and they had a 6-month-old baby. chris martinez is there right now with the lates on the investigation. >> reporter: --with the latest on this investigation. >> reporter: at this hour,

around the scene of this shooting. investigators believe it was a preplanned attack. we know the suspects they believe are responsible for mass shooting, the pair, 28- year-old syed rizwan farook and his wife, 27-year-old tashfeen malik pled the scene in a black suv. both suspects died in a gun battle with police just two miles away from the shooting. inside of the suv investigators found assault rifles and handguns. >> based upon what we have seen and based upon how they were equipped, there had bo to have been some planning that went into into this. >> reporter: officials say that farook left a holiday party held for wokers at the center in anger and then returned a short time later with malachi dressed in assault style clothing and armed with guns. people inside during the shooting describe a crazy scene. >> it was just numb. i was just in disbelief.

violence threat that game in last night through an e-mail. it mentioned three middle schools, they are called upper schools here in cambridge but this they are middle schools and they said there would be gun violence and that caused the police to add security at all schools in cambridge. police also believer it is is a from the same person that threatened schools on tuesday. that was bomb threat, also via e-mail and didn't turn out to be credible. still, the police locked down the schools at 10:30 p.m. last night and did a sweep this morning just to make sure that people feel safe coming in this morning. wbz this morning. >> okay, important information, thank you for that. now to a developing story this morning, fife elementary school students detained in new jersey for plotting to attack a high school. police say that teachers found letters from the students
