sunshine, few passing clouds not as windy keep a gusty west wind mixed in there, lots of clear conditions on satellite and radar, nothing heading our way in this weekend, looking fabulous, quiet stretch continues plus milder temperatures, 50s and maybe some 60s, i'll have the numbers coming up in that weekend forecast. traffic and weather together, robi. pamela, an accident down in bridgewater slowing things down south of the city, crash is down on 24 northbound, just after route 104, two cars involved off to the left and the right of the road, the back up is to 495, closer to the city from the south, the expressway, northbound heavy from adam street to champion road, 128 southbound, crawl between logan express and the split, 24 authority, sluggish from stoeton up to 128, and the only slowdowns over the andover stretch between 495 and gaspin. we begin with breaking news

ontd scene -- on the scene of a massive house fire, rescuing two people from the multifamily home but four others unaccounted for. >> susie steimle live on the scene and susie, you have dramatic new video to show us. >> reporter: we do, we caught a moment on camera that was unexpected for both reporters and the deputy chief who was updating us, this has been a very, very busy morning in lynn and still a very active scene, a number of streets still closed around 24 bruce place where this fire broke out and fire crews still on the scene just trying to figure out what happened, four people unaccounted for and trying to talk to the chief what was happening, he was updating us and in the middle of an interview, a portion of the roof collapsed. reporters myself included gasping as we saw this happen right behind the deputy chief, he then of course take off to check on his guy to see if

a good reason has been describing all morning as a very dangerous one, if you look at the flames from earlier, they struf -- structure, this is a two and a half family home, they believe it was a couple of apartments, at least two people rescued earlier an 18-year-old woman and a woman in her 60s and again, there are still four people unaccounted for, the hope that they were not inside this home but because of the unstable structure crews can't get in right now to check to see if there was anyone inside. we are anticipating to update again from the deputy chief within the hour and of course, when we get that, we will bring it straight to you. for now live in lynn, susie steimle, wbz this morning. >> all right, susie, thank you. new information and pictures released on the shooting rampage in california as horrific as this was, it could've been worse! the two suspects armed with a huge arsenal of weapons and

farook and his wife had even more ammunition and explosives at their home >> and new details about their potential link to terrorism, intelligence officials saying farook was in contact on social media with known islamic extremists the fbi is watching, the raid on the home including 6,700 bullets and a dozen pipe bombs we learned one of the 21 wounded is a woman from new hampshire, chris martinez has the latest from san bernardino. >> reporter: as thousands gathered at kai -- a candle light and prayer vigil, focus turns to what -- motivated syed farook and his wife tashfeen malik to murder. sara and her husband were related to the suspects who died in a shootout with police. >> i can never imagine my brother or my sister-in-law doing something like this. because they were happily

>> reporter: investigators say it farook travelled to saudi arabia and pakistan last year, and returned with malik, who came to the u.s. on a fiancee visa. while the couple was not on any terror watch list, law enforcement officials tell cbs news farook had been in contact both with people in the u.s. and overseas with possible ties to terrorism. >> what it adds up to, for me, this was a guy who was probably al-qaeda. >> reporter: a dozen pipe bombs found in the couple's home, those device were made from christmas tree lights and radio controlled toys. >> they were equipped and they could've continued to do another attack, we intercepted them before that happened. >> reporter: authorities now searching for the person they say legally bought two military massacre. chris martinez, cbs news, san bernardino, california.

the 21 people wounded in the attack is from new hampshire. amanda gaspard was in charge of services center. the 32-year-old originally from hinsdale shot several times, we doing. >> reporter: new this morning, amanda gaspard's sister tells us amanda is having a hard time with the pain from the wounds and the emotional trauma. but lindsey gaspard says quote my sister is one of the strongest people i know, and she has incredible faith in god, so we know she'll get through this. she also says amanda quote specifically want to do thank the first responders, paramedic and police officers who helped her and the victims. the 32-year-old moved to california three years ago, where she works as a restaurant inspector for the county. her family travelled to be with amanda in the hospital. in an interview with the adventist review, her mother diane described what happened during the holiday party. quote she was in charge of the

mercy she had just dismissed everyone pour -- for a short break or there would've been more peep in the room. we believe because of her loving-kindness, the shooter did not kill her. he stood over her and shot her. he could easily have aimed at her head but shot at her leg instead. relatives say amanda was in surgery most of thursday, she was shot several times in the leg and the arm, she also had shrapnel in her head, but she's expected to recover. and developments with this story are rapidly changing for the very latest on the investigation, stay with cbs news and of course, wbz both on air and online. breaking overnight, the former frontman for the stone temple pilots and velvet revolver has died. scott weiland was found dead on his tour bus. a message on his facebook page said he passed away on his sleep while on a tour stop in minnesota, set to play a show last night with his new band, weiland was plagued by substance abuse problems throughout his

cause of death is unclear, he was 48 years old. a police officer who grew up in melrose and was killed in a shooting at a planned parenthood clinic in colorado will be laid to rest today. funeral services will be held this afternoon for officer swasey. an honor guard from melrose police department will travel to colorado, swasey was killed responding to a shooting at the planned parenthood clinic a week ago, two othered were killed nine injuries. a second suspect in an armed robbery in norwood, the weapon? a pellet gun, two men used the pellet gun to rob a woman on washington street near the shopping center yesterday morning. they arrested one of the suspects right away, but are still looking for the other man, the woman had minor injuries. the red sox set to introduce their new $217 million man at fenway park today and for the first time, we're hearing from

david price underwent a physical in boston yesterday. the 30-year-old pitcher's deal with the sox is for seven years, he'll earn $31 million a season. now, no secret that they've had tension on the field, started in the 2013 playoffs with price complaining about ortiz who admired a homer then in a 2014 game, price hit poppy in the back, see that was the pitch, price then hit another batter in the same game, the bench is cleared, ortiz had to be restrained from going after price. well, last night ortiz told the globe quote, everything is fine, everybody had their moment on the field, now we're teammates, got to turn the page. i'm going to help him the most erksz going to help me the most to win ball games and that's what matters. ortiz also said the red sox called to ask his thoughts before agreeing to the deal with price. he added he and price have not spoken since their on field drama but said he plan to reach out to him soon. so.

below average, all the way back since the first of the year, abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions all across our viewing area here and we don't have a lot of rain on the way, in fact keep it dry for the next several days all weekend long, great for any outdoor plans you have, satellite and radar picture, under a clear sky, nearest cloud cover to the north and west, but right before sunrise here and if you look to the south and east, you'll see jupiter, the moon, mars and venus all lined up in a row, spectacular sight and thankfully, the weather morning. 38 degrees that temperature right now in boston with the crisp, clear sky out there, real feel temperature 32, light breeze from the northwest mixed in and we're talking about it, wind chill. wind chill going to be a factor throughout the rest of the day as well, 33 degrees in worcester, 27 keene, 31 nashua, 29 starting off your day, heavy coat necessary as you head out the door, but then you could trade that in for a light jacket, really.

zero snow here in greater boston the less said the better. plenty of snow in the mountains for the skiers, cold enough temperatures to make the sweater retailers and outdoor ice skaters happy but nothing here in town, i hoped for it but i never thought possible. but now i see where forecasters, in line with the speculation of our own ace meteorologists here at wbz are saying the mild weather we've been enjoying all fall could well continue deep in the season, the el nino system is expected to hold off that hideous polar vortex that kept us in the deep freeze last winter and while they're not entirely sure, there's evidence it could keep the mild weather spring. just imagine: no iceberg-sized snow bank to navigate everywhere you go. plenty of bare sidewalk to stand on when we cheer on the pats super bowl victory parade.

6:25, quickly update you on breaking news in lynn, we have just learned that four people are confirmed dead in this fire. fire officials telling us they were trapped inside this home on bruce place, firefighters were able to rescue two people from that home, we'll have more updates in just a few moments, you can follow susie steimle on twitter for the latest. and new this morning, a judge has dismissed the city of boston's lawsuit trying to prevent a hasive casino from being built in everett, the state gaming commission acted properly when it awarded a license to wynn resorts, boston would see a big impact on traffic, but none of the financial benefits that come

so clear overnight we've lost accumulated from yesterday, temperatures fallen there before in the 20s and 30s for some, areas of patchy frost has developed too, and especially in low lying areas from the wind, still breeze, 48 in boston but it feels more like the freezing mark because of that light breeze mixed in, real temperatures will be a factor this morning and running colder in all spots compared to this time yesterday, 13 degrees colder in boston, temperatures will be in the 40s for the lunch hour, 46 degrees, few passing clouds, not as windy as yesterday but still gusty west wind mixed in, satellite and radar picture will give us that clear sky, we keep a few passing clouds in, other than that, it looks like no weather worries for the next several days, quiet weather continues and milder temps on the way, the numbers coming up. traffic and weather together now, robi. no weather worries but plenty of traffic worries pamela, accidents west and north to the west the crash is out in

serbia road -- jackson road, the back up to shirley road, in woodburn, mont vale that is a busy spot, bumper to bumper to 129 and the south, furnish to champion road the other major routes have no big slow downs right now, bree and kathryn? >> thank you so much. updating breaking news out of lynn we just learned that four people were killed in this fire, officials just gave an update. >> let's get right to susie steimle with those breaking details, what can you tell us? >> reporter: we just wrapped up an interview moments ago with the fire marshal and the deputies chief and the chief here in lynn, unfortunately they delivered the news that all of us were hoping we would not be hearing this morning, that is that the four people missing overnight are now confirmed deceased. this night of fighting fires now seemed a tragedy, we do have the

this dramatic fire that fully engulfed this home, that had we now know 18 or 19 people living inside of it, the chief does credit his men for their work saying that they were able to save multiple lives in the two we told you about earlier in the morning, there were two people climbing to get out of this home, they were rescued, sent to the hospital, and are in stable condition, unfortunately the other four people that were still inside of the home on the second floor were trapped, and unable to get out. they had a lot of difficulties fighting this fire, not only was it at a dead end on a narrow street, but it was also an unstable structure for a long period of time, it was difficult for them to get back in to check and see if there were any survivors, now we of course know that there are none from the four that were trapped inside, the red cross is on the scene, working with the families who were displaced and as far as this investigation goes forward, they're still working to

now moving to look to the district attorney's office to see if any charges were, will be filed to see if any laws were broken by having this many people living inside of this home. so, unfortunately, not the answer that we were looking for, but at least an update at this point in time, we'll continue to update you throughout the morning, for now live in lynn, susie steimle, wbz "this morning ". >> all right, susie, thanks for the update. the gunman who killed 14 people in san bernardino wednesday had been in contact with known islamic extremists on social media, according to the associated press, syed farook and his wife tashfeen malik were not under fbi scrutiny. police say farook and malik had enough bullets and bombs to slaughter hundreds of people. the husband and wife were killed in a shootout with police. wbz security analyst ted davis said they had something in common with the boston marathon bombers. >> similar to the incident that

individuals did not commit an act and aement -- attempt to escape, they built devices and looking to do another assault. >> one of the shooting survivors from new hampshire, gaspard grew up in hinsdale, her sister says she's dealing with the physical and emotional trauma, shot several times in the arm and leg, she's undergone surgery and expected to recover, sle worked for the san bernardino health department and was overseeing the party. the violence in california and even in paris is impacting how people feel at large events. hundreds crowded the boston common for the tree lighting last night, many said they had to live their lives. but admit they are more aware of their surroundings. the pointer family witnessed the boston marathon bombings and tell us the recent violence makes the fear very real again. >> step back in a large crowd and don't get involved, we're really aware from now on, which
